Hi!

I'm looking for an offset umbrella. I be been looking around, and the prices seem to vary a great deal.

If you have purchased one would you be willing to tell me how much you paid for it and the quality for the price? I saw one at Home Depot for $300, but the reviews were terrible.

Any input would be greatly appreciated :)

Thanks,

Connie

I purchased mine at Aldis for around $35 :cool1:! It was one of the best bargains I have gotten there (we have had it for several years and it still works fine). I have seen them there this season for around $70 which is still a great price. It must be some off brand name on it so I can't help you figure out which one to buy, but definitely shop the bargain stores around you and see what you find.

IDK how big the one you are looking at is,but we got a big 10 foot one last year...WORST 65.00 we ever spent....it was offset and wouldn't stay up by itelf in the slightest wind- the construction was flimsy, and impossible to sustain with the weight distribution- it broke within a month or so and we tossed it out. It had a large base that we basically had to weld down to the deck trying to get it to stay upright...went back to to a gazebo style...

We purchased the one at Lowes this year and couldn't be happier with it! It has a base that has a place to pour sand in. We just put 4 50 lb bags in so it is less messy. It is very adjustable. We close it and wrap the tie around it when we are not using it. We have had some pretty strong winds while it has been closed a d it is still standing strong.

Target has one on sale for $225. It looks pretty sturdy, with the base that you add water or sand to.

We purchased one from Academy Sports for $29 and it has held up wonderfully. Even throughout the storms we have had this year.

We purchased ours at Menards about 7 years ago for about $70 and it is holding up. It is bolted to a wooden deck. We close it up every night and put one extra tie around it, in addition to the one it comes with. Also take it down for the winter and store it. It would be impossible to enjoy our deck without the umbrella when the sun is shining.

Thanks for your replies! I see that a person can purchase a nice offset umbrella without breaking the bank :-) I believe the umbrella, which is at Costco is around $800. I will continue to look around. I'll probably hold off untill the end of the month when things go on sale since I will be at Disney anyway.
