Official word on height requirements for Cars Land and Matterhorn

when you say received these numbers, from who and are these really official? I only ask because all the Carsland rides are now showing the height requirments on Disneylands site, but Matterhorn is still listed at 35 inches.

Sorry to be asking, but are you really saying you were not booking your trip until you knew your kids could ride rsr? You do know there are many rides that are not 48"??? Some kids would just love the chance to be there. I know my kids will:)

Until someone posts a video of some kid who is greater than 40" tall, but not more than 48" tall, riding RSR, I call shenanigans.

Yep thats exactly what I am saying. Well RSR and Matterhorn. Yes I know there are plenty of rides. I am from east coast and I WANTED to make sure my kids could ride. I can't make it out there every year.Yes I know they would.have a great time anyway, but sorry my life my vacation my decision my trip. Not yours. Respect it.

I postponed my trip in Feb for a year because this was opening in June. If I am going to drop $5000 on a holiday I want to make sure that everything I want to see will be operating.

Ditto! We were going to do Disney World this year (and stay at the new Value resort). But, we opted for Disneyland instead because of Carsland. My 4 year old LOVES everything about that movie. And can not WAIT to ride RSR. Thank goodness he's 40.5 inches without shoes right now...or I'd be one unhappy momma with one unhappy kid. :D

Is the Matterhorn open yet? If not, they won't change it until it's open.

I see that your trip is still a little ways away, but just FYI: Just because he's 40.5" at home does not mean he will measure on THEIR stick to 40 inches. And it's THEIR stick at THAT moment on THAT day that counts.

One could even be tall enough once and two hours later, not.

Just so expectations are set realistically,

I can verify that the height for Radiator Springs is 40 inches. We did a preview and that is what was on the sign.

Ditto to this. With a child so close to the height requirement, I wouldn't be promising the child that they'd be able to ride these rides. I've read too many stories on this board and the WDW board where children were just barely tall enough at home and ran into times where the CMs did not judge them to be tall enough at the park and it resulted in lots of crying and unhappiness.

If your child is THAT close to the height do that ride FIRST thing in the morning. You get shorter as the day goes on because your spine compresses, and yes it is completely possible that it would be enough to make him no longer tall enough. So do it first and do it several times. And make sure he understands that he is very close to the height and may not "measure" at all rides all day long. It has happened to us :(

The new height requirement for the Matterhorn Bobsleds is 42".

That's according to DisneyGeek's photo of the Wait Board that was taken on Monday, June 11.
