Come on!!! where do they get these families?? Let's sound off together and compare notes to make lives better for all of us....I try to get the hubby to watch with me so he'll be grateful later but they sometimes are so far off track that he doesn't even think the families are real!!!

The pirate family were interesting but truly reflective of american family? i hope not or we're way off track..

We're a family of five, two working parents, three kids..........our house is a wreck, but we love each other...........i don't have pet hair in the corners, or mold growing everywhere, but i do have to dig my way through the living room sometimes due to toy clutter.............

Additionally with three kids I always feel like one of the kids is coming up short.....

How do you all compare to the wife swap families?

Tonite let me know what you think of the ones on.........I hope all you mommies out there can help me feel more normal..........

I love watching Wife Swap and I too try to get DH to watch with me. All he does is roll his eyes and ask if anything else is on.

I guess people like it not so much to compare their lives, but maybe to feel good about their life. I am always appreciative of DH after I see some of the men on that show (like the DJ who wanted quiet while he slept).

I don't have cat hair in my corners and no mold, but there are times when I have to wade through my DD(2) toys in the living room.

I just quit my job and am adjusting to the stay at home role. I do love being home with my DD, but I HATE having to clean and do laundry all day. That is all I feel like I am doing....especially when DH comes home a leaves his underwear on the floor all the time LOL.

But, I shouldn't complain too much. DH is working 1 full time and 1 part time job so I can stay home. I do have a great hubby!

But we refused! Though we could have used the money, we didn't want to put our kids through the possible humiliation...Our family is very normal with a normal home (not like you see on the show). My wife is comedian and they wanted to protray her as a neglectfull parent who puts her comedy ahead of her home life ect.. but she really isn't like that at all. We laugh at it now though!

How did the scouts find you? Did you apply?? I think it's interesting they were going to "cast" you a certain way...I bet a comedianne would be a great mom, a sense of humor would get you 95% of the way.................

The pirates? OMG! The fleas in the house were absolutely disgusting! Chaos as a chosen lifestyle? I did kind of like the organized woman. I wish I were that organized - I found her rows of rubbermaid totes to be very soothing.

i liked the organized lady too but where did she keep her junk???

the dance lady seems a bit off, the other a bit lazy...if you like to clean and have your kids help you, this show makes you feel like an abusive cuckoo...if you don't, a worthless lazy slob

Did my daughter put on any weight??? that lady is something else.............can she hear herself?

LOL I know what you all are talking about!

That lady was crazy about her kids and their dancing! At least they were respectful, though! The other kids had no guidance at all (at least from the part of the show that I saw)!

I like watching wife swap, usually makes me feel better. I think I fall in the middle. 3kids, husband is a firefighter, I work part time. 2 older kids in school, little one goes to mothers day out 2 days a week. You may walk in my house one day and it will be clean the next it might look like a tornado hit. Depends on the day and time. I did miss the pirate episode, my bestfriend said it was off the wall. I like it when my husband watches lets him know how lucky he is, As for extracuricular activities my son does baseball and violin daughter does swimming. Tonight we missed activies b/c to much homework. That always comes first. We are all womean just trying to do our best and love our families, but for some reason we are all so hard on ourselves and other moms.

They actually found my wife on "my space". They wanted to start going out looking for people on the show rather than sift through the hundreds of duds that get sent in. They also stated that they thought their rating weren't where the wanted and thought it would be better to look for themselves. The scout left her e-mail and contact infomation to show she was legit. She practically begged us (after many phone conversations) to be on but we really couldn't go through with it. As you know from the show, they don't protray the families in the best of light.

Me too! I wish she would come organize my house for me :rotfl2: Also she had no junk in her house. There motto was do you love it, need it and does it make you money, if not they tossed whatever it was. I could never be on wifeswap because I'm just so middle of the road and average as far as our family. Our house is clean but there is toys lying around alot. Sometimes our priorities are not in order but I have enough sense to change that. My DH spends too m too much time worrying about money. If I could change that by being on the show then I would.
Also DD6 is in first grade and takes two dance classes and that is all right now. DS2 stays home with mom. I too fell like I'm not appreciated at all. I guess the laundry, cooking, housecleaning, grocery shopping and kid activities just get magically done everyday. My DH doesn't appreciate me and only notices what I didn't get done. I'm supposed to be super woman! :sad2: Meanwhile when he stays home the house like a tornado wnet through and it does close to nothing. :furious:

LOL I felt exactly the same way. I love order and everything in it's place. Unfortunately since I met my DH and had my DD, I have lost my way. Maybe I can get back to it someday.

Last summer (05) DH and I and our two cherubs :rotfl: came out of the bathrooms in MGM and a CM with a clipboard asked us to fill out an application. We'd never watched, and said no. Several times! She asked us what we did (we both teach high school) and went on and on about how great we'd be. They had tables set up and 100s of people were filling out applications.

We called our parents right then (gotta love cell phones!) and they said we should have done it...glad we didn't. I wonder what there was about us that made us look crazy? I'm a little paranoid now! :rotfl:

I told my DH I wanted to be organized like that too!
