Official Survivor Micronesia: Fans vs Favs Thread - Begins 2/7! Cast posted!

I don't think you screwed up. I set my DVR at the begining of the season to tape all first run episodes. Well I get home at 8:10 a few weeks ago and its not taping. Again last week I was going to be late ( DS gets out of CCD at 8) so I check in the afternoon its not red(thats the was it looks on the menu if its taping). again I set it to tape and off I go. Last night at dinner I checked and its not going to tape, this week I said to tape all episodes. I think it may be the way its listed on the guide or something. All I know is I have to physically set it to tape on Thursday or it just don't do it.

Sorry this is so long, but I hope you understand what I was trying to say.

I have a season pass on Tivo for Survivor and mine taped just fine. I don't think it's the way it's listed in the guide. Hmm I wonder why you guys are having trouble

i'm having the same problem with the taping on my dvr(cablevision - gotta love them dont you) for the past 3 weeks. the first week i assumed(shouldnt have should I) it was taping and didnt realize it till the next day. thankfully i was able to watch it on the internet but unfortunetely i kept forgetting that i have to check up on it so now i have to remind myself to manually record it. next week its on on wednesday due to the basketball. lets see if the dvr picks up on it. what a good night that will be back to back survivor and big brother woo hoo....

I ask to watch ONE program a week, just one. So my DH sets the Tivo up to record the rest of the season (since we both forgot to Tivo last week's show). We even checked last night to make sure upcoming programs and Survivor was listed. So I sit down tonight after it should have Tivo'd so I could watch without commercials and BAM - no Survivor. It still is listed as though it will Tivo tonight's episode. This is the first time we've done the whole season -- so could somebody let me in on how we screwed up? I missed the show

And could somebody please PM me with who went home and why we're sorry for Jonathon? Thanks.

When we had direct tv our dvr used to do that sometimes too even though the program was set to record the dvr was just sitting there, not recording

Chet finally went home! Thank goodness! Tracy couldn't let it go and was still trying to get him to stay and vote Ozzie out but Chet's foot was hurting and he wanted to go. In the end he voted for himself to go.
Jonathans injury to his knee from the past challenge was getting infected. The medic told him it would NOT get better it would only get worse. That he could lose his leg or even his life if it got in his bloodstream. On a side note Kathy was just crying and crying when he left. they have only been on the same team a few days. She is weird

I am glad that Chet finally went home, but it would have been so amazing if they could have pulled it off and voted Ozzy out. He would NOT have seen that coming. I like Ozzy but they need to do something to shake up that tribe.

Did Chet or Kathy ever watch Survivor before? It is not a picnic in the park, it is hard work and hard on your body. They are both cry babies.

Ok, that's what I thought, that Chet voted for himself. I thought they weren't allowed to do that? Remember every time it got down to 3 left and A had immunity, Jeff would say that since B and C can't vote for themselves and would have to vote for each other, that only A had to vote? When they showed the votes, it looked like even Ami voted for Chet so he would have gone home anyway, so I guess it really doesn't matter.

I agree....as much as I wanted Chet out of there, it would have been something to see them blindside Ozzy like that!

And I still can't figure out why Chet went on Survivor in the first place! It's not like he got sick the first day or anything.....he was weak and laying around from the very first. If he's a "fan", surely he's watched the show before and knows how tough it is? Whacko!

I felt terrible for Jonathan (and was super ticked at Kathy!). (the rest is in white) He had to leave...it's not like he just decided to flake out. He could have died if he stayed, but it was really obvious that he didn't want to have to go.

Please tell me I heard Kathy wrong because it sounded like she was sobbing, "But, we need you!" over and over while he was hugging her goodbye. Umm....HELLO! Let's make the guy feel worse, huh? It's not like he had a raging infection in his leg out in the middle of a filthy jungle or anything dangerous like that.

As for tribal council (white here, too): I was so happy Chet finally got sent home. I was really worried that Ozzy would be gone there for a minute.

Yes, what I thought was odd was Tracey voted for Eric too. I knew she said she'd never vote for Chet, but I figured they'd still throw a vote at one of the favs.

ETA: Yes, Kathy is annoying and totally selfish. She kept saying "We need you" like he was giving up rather than leaving to possibly save his own life. I hope she's next to go.

On the video clip (which I've never seen like that before - I hadn't been to the website yet this season), they show who they wrote down and also what they said when they showed their vote to the camera. Tracey said something like, "Thank you, Eric for giving me permission to write down your name since I couldn't vote for Chet."

Total speculation here, but it sounded like Chet managed to convince them that he really needed to go home. Also total speculation, maybe they figured that by voting for one of their own, they could still blindside one of the favorites in the next vote.

Just a comment....but after the show airs I don't think we need to hide anything in white anymore.....if you haven't watched the show yet don't open the thread. Just a suggestion

Chet didn't want to quit, he wanted to be voted out which is why I bet he didn't go along with Tracy/Eric's plan. I don't think he mentally/physically could have made it another 3 days. There was some masterful editing last night to make it full of tension and to make Ozzy's remarks seem arrogant, but I think most of that (as well as all the looks and smiles) was editing. Give those guys and Emmy though cause they did a great job of making it "appear" suspenseful.

How hysterical is it going to be when Brian (is that his name????) plays the fake idol. I bet it comes out in some way soon.

What a bummer! Sure, I like Ozzy but it's always fun to watch when a tribe member gets hit by the tribal freight train. There have been so many bad decisions made this season. We're watching a train wreck!

They can't vote for themselves? That seems odd. Remember when Janu quit at tribal coucil a few seasons back? If you can quit it seems like you can vote for yourself.

I was mad at Chet for not sticking up for his friends last night. They have pulled him along the entire time, and this is how he thanks them? Like GJM said, why didn't he vote for Ozzy at tribal and quit the next day?

I was thinking that too. Chet could have just quit anytime. I was really a little mad he didn't go sooner. Seems to me he wanted to leave pretty much as soon as he got there but kept going along with Tracy to keep him there.

Im glad it didn;t go that way. I love Ozzy and even if he doesn't win I can't Tracy and I do not want her to make it very far.
