From RoL the faster route would be make a left towards Asia, walk straight to Africa, no need to go through Discovery Island
But wouldn't it depend what side of ROL you are sitting on? Isn't there seating in front of Nemo and in front of Everest? I was looking at the map and if you are seated by Nemo, instead of going back over the bridge passing Everest it would be much easier to go past Dinoland and through Discovey Island keeping left in front of the tree and over the bridge to the entrance to Africa?

Which side is the seating for the dining package?
From the fp side it's definitely faster from the dining package and standby is probably the same distance either way

Does anyone know if the small seating area behind "Adventurers Outpost" is a good spot to watch ROL? Also, besides the ROL Seating area, has anyone created a list of other good spots? I'm not sure if other spots along Discovery River are just too distant to watch the show.

I haven't checked out viewing it from there specifically, but I'm guessing that there might be vegetation obstructing all or part of the view. But if there isn't, you'be looking through the very large water curtain during certain parts of the show. In addition, it's further away than viewing it from the amphitheater. If you can't watch the show from the theater, I'd either find a spot closer to the lagoon or maybe wait until you can watch it from the amphitheater because the show is best seen, heard and appreciated from there.

I haven't read all of the comments but we were underinpressed. We did StandBy on the 18th and were seated toward the center of the viewing area. The people and images on the boats were hard to see and the bright lights that created the images on the water sprays were sometimes shining directly into our eyes.

Granted, it was a beautiful water show but the audio was not always clear. The water effects were nice but the lighted elements were not as dazzling as predicted. From all for the hype, we expected something different than lighted floats and water sprays. With the unclear audio, it was hard to understand the narrative, hence the storyline was unclear.

Also, the seating rises above the water so you are looking down on much of the show. I was behind two fairly tall men and was constantly peering around them. We saw Fantasmic tonight and I realized that most of that show is at eye level or higher, eliminating the problem of looking down at the show.

After RoL, we stopped to watch the Tree of Life awakening. That was unique and more impressive to us than the RoL show.

Thanks @FastPasser. I really appreciate your informative response.:earsboy:

I will be at WDW 05-17 to the 23rd. I am a veteran at Disney planning but this trip is giving me headaches! Last year I was so bummed out that we were going to miss ROL. I had no idea it would be delayed until Feb 2017! So ROL is on the top of my "to do" list. For the first time we are arriving in the middle of a week (Wed). If I am reading right, ROL will not run on Wednesday, May 17th. Is this correct? I have booked The Keys to the Kingdom tour for Thursday, May 18th, so planning to stay in MKP that entire day. I would like to go to AKP on Fr., May 19th. I would get a ROL dining pkg at Tusker House breakfast. When I tried to do this, it was only showing 1 show at 7:15! I am also a lifetime member of the Peter Noone fan club and want to be at Epcot for his 1st show there, Friday night, 5:30 PM. I was hoping to use Express transportation to leave AKP, go to Epcot and catch Peter's 1st show, get back on express transportation and go back to AKP for ROL but at a later time! Do you think a later time for ROL will open up for Friday, May 19th?

it's showing every night starting April 8th, the only day that is showing dark is May 24th

What I was hoping was that on week-ends, there would be 2 times per night. Do you think there will be any chance of that by May?

I have a feeling they'll add a second show during at least Avatar opening weekend because of the high crowds.
