***Official November 2013 - Part II*** (that's right....we're that popular!)

Being from the South, I've had my fair share of misunderstandings due to how I pronounce words. :)

Hey, is anyone going to try meeting the new Talking Mickey at MK?
I think today is his debut!! I'm interested to know what kind of lines will be involved and if I need to use a FP+ for it. I can't decide if DS4 will love it or flip out :). http://www.**************.net/2013/...n-conversations-daily-in-town-square-theater/

Koewl (That's my version of cool)
I didn't know about this. I would love to have a picture doing something fun with Mickey like that family in the video that did a grrrrrrrrrr.

Have a :banana::banana: moment about going in 25 1/2 days. :goodvibes

I did what no person taking a trip in a few weeks should do...

Ventured into the FP+ threads.

You know, the ones that are saying that even with a FP+ time of 9am on Toy Story, they still had to wait over a half hour to ride?!

Maybe now that I'm all done planning and have itineraries printed out I should step away ;)

I just got the most amazing thing, Mickey Mail! The email telling me, "It's time to confirm your address and choose your MagicBands." :cool1:

Except, I received my customized MBs two or more WEEKS ago. If I weren't an overly-informed DW fan, this would be an exciting email. :rotfl: :sad2:

LOL isn't it hysterical when we get snail mail or email that is old news?
This board definitely brought me up front to the planning. Yay!

Oh boy... I haven't been on dis all weekend (my sister had to go and get married) lol... I missed so much!

Today I got my bands :) yay!!! They seem so stiff.. I think I'm gonna get rid of the gray around mine. If I do peel it away is there anyway to get it back on?

You have got to be kidding! Doesn't she realize you have better things to do and how important your Disney planning is? I'd be disowning her quick. :rolleyes1

Congrats to sister!
From what I understand if you remover the gray, no you can't put it back. And it looks to me that you lose the personalizing too. Other have cut the gray bands shorter. I don't need to. Mine fits me fine so far. Gee too bad you didn't have them before the weekend. You could have worn them to the wedding and made everyone jealous!

LOL I wondered if FP+ might make the lines longer in the morning especially.
I'm going to wear my MB and put on the "Have no fear" attitude and just go with the flow. It's going to be a FABULOUS vacation!!!

Put the band under some books to help shape it.

I'm laughing hysterically!!! Believe me when I tell u.... I sooooo would have worn this band (like I am right now ;) to the wedding). As the matron of honor... I would have out done the bride with this on!!!!! Lol She would have been so pissed! Lol!!!

Theoretically, the same number of total FPs should exist. The same time frames should as well. So yes, MB FP+ people could have chosen more morning times but had they not, those at rope drop could pull morning FP times. Am I making sense.

My theory on the long lines that are apparently everywhere:

-bigger crowds.
-periodic hold ups with MB glitches or people trying to scan improperly or at wrong time.
-CMs letting groups through if they are having difficulty. Once certain people find out about that, the honour system the CM uses to get the line moving can be abused.
-more people looking up crowd calendars.

All of these above

I wish I wasn't the fearful type. I am. However, I also make the most of things relatively easily.

I made more meal ressies than usual so there could be other aspects to enjoy and allow the kids to potentially meet more characters if we do encounter bigger crowds and longer lines than expected. I'm patting my proactive self on the back.

Now, here's hoping my toddler won't freak right out with the characters. Hahaha. She SAYS she's going to hug them all. We shall see.....

Nope, you can't get it back on. It tears away from the sides and the ends. Make sure yours still closes on the colored part with both pegs or you will be out of luck.

Yeah, I can't help but look too. I've also been stalking the wait time apps. :scared1: Something weird is going on down there.

It's more than that. First of all, people who never would have used fast passes or would have only grabbed them later in the day when they finally rolled out of bed now have them because the e-mail told them to pick them or because the CM at the resort choose them for the people. Some people also only wanted 1 or 2 FPs, but were forced to choose 3 even when they weren't going to use them. I bet a lot of the reserved FP+s aren't even being used.

The other problem seems to be the programming that was done on the machines. Now, I'm guessing that a certain number of FP+s were reserved for each time slot, however, I think the computer took out the number of FP+ and without regard to the time slots figured if x amount of FP+ were used it pushes the time slot of FP- out to time y. I've been watching the FP return times on the apps and something is really weird with them, so this is just what I am guessing.

No, you don't lose the personalization. The gray part removes from the outside, but doesn't remove from the inside. The colored part just punches out from the middle if that makes any sense, but the gray part stays on the inside of the colored part.

Yes, thank goodness for the DIS!! Without it, I don't know what I'd do! Well, DS just watched the talking Mickey video and said, "Oooooh!! I wish I could meet THAT Mickey Mouse!" Guess we'll be adding that to our "must do" list! Canned or not, he's all in! ::MickeyMo

Just be aware that he's not always there.

The thing is FP+ and the Legacy FP systems aren't connected. The computers aren't linked at all. So if they're adjusting the Legacy system, they're doing it manually.

I did hear today that CMs are now refusing to let people with MBs get legacy FPs in some cases. I also heard that if you request a separate KTTW card, it's a special one that doesn't work in the FP machine. To be honest, I suspect a lot of the issues right now have as much or more to do with people double and triple dipping than FP+ itself. These two measures would help preserve legacy FPs for the people who don't have access to MB.

So they stopped giving out KTTW cards if you have a band? We usually get more than 3 fast passes at magic kingdom so not sure if I will reevaluate my selections if we won't be able to pull legacy FPs. Hmmmm. Back to not knowing what is going on again!

I've been hearing about CM's doing that since the beginning, but it seems to be a random thing. The thing is that I have all the invite stuff from Disney and I read all the terms and conditions and not in one place does it say that in order to test the MBs and FP+ I have to give up regular FPs. It would be absolutely ridiculous for them to limit onsite guests (that pay more to Disney) to 3 while allowing offsite guests to have unlimited FPs. Not to mention the fact that there are still plenty of people who are having problems with the MB and FP+ so they need to be able to pull them if their bands aren't working without waiting on a line for 2 hours to get it straightened out. It is not double dipping to pull FPs with your KTTW card, it is double dipping (or even triple dipping) if people are also using AP or regular tickets or even old cards in addition to their KTTW card to pull more than they are entitled to for one day. I can't believe that people are even defending doing that. My old cards will be sitting at home where they belong, to get extra FPs with them would be like stealing them from someone else. To pull paper FPs with my regular (from this trip only) KTTW card would be the same thing I would be doing with KTTW card had I not been included with the test. I still don't understand why people think it would be OK to penalize people who are staying onsite by limiting them to less than offsite guests and I have no idea why people keep calling that double dipping. I pulled at least 7-8 FPs a day at MK, 5-6 at AK and HS and 4 at Epcot each day I was at those parks last time. I intend to pull the same amount this time (that includes the ones from FP+, not in addition to those).

If they are going to limit me to three I just won't go to Disney again. I don't do lines so it just won't interest me as a vacation destination. It would be one thing if it was nearby and I was just going a day here and there, but I'm not dropping 10 grand on a vacation to spend 8 days in lines.

They have not stopped giving out KTTW cards yet. There have been one or two people who claimed they didn't get them or had to ask for them specifically and a few people have claimed that they have has trouble pulling FPs with their KTTW cards (mostly at AK). In addition, a few CMs claimed that they were not supposed to use both, while other CMs said they are supposed to. If you call Disney you will get many different answers. The terms and conditions do not say that you can't have both.
