***Official November 2013 - Part II*** (that's right....we're that popular!)

So this entire trip was very last minute for how I usually plan a trip, as a result sit down meals are hard to come by.

So the day we get there 11/11, we are doing MVMCP and can get into the park at 4pm. Originally I had Boma scheduled for 4:55, with where it is and how late it is I feel we will miss out on park and party time, PLUS I think the food may be a little to "weird" for my very non adventurous when it comes to food DH.

So, new plan.

I got a reservation at Grand Floridian Cafe at 1:40pm, then I thought we can see the Ginger Bread houses at the GF, then ride the monorail and end up at MK for entrance at 4pm.

Questions:
1) How is GF Cafe?
2) Will the Ginger Bread House be set up by 11/11?
3) Will we have too much time to "waste" before 4pm? I would hate to waste valuable Disney time just waiting around. Anything else we can add in if we need to?

I am hoping to get a picture of my DD for holiday cards, so if any trees are decorated I will be taking time to get some pictures also, so that can take some time also....

This last minute trip planning is VERY stressful for me! :scared:

The GF Cafe is very good. We have eaten there a few times and plan on eating there again this next trip. I don't know when the Gingerbread House is up; but it is awesome to see. If you're done with your meal before 4pm, I'm sure there is plenty to see at GF itself.

I don't think the gingerbread house will be finished by then, at least not from what I read, but don't quote me.

If you have more time after your meal you can take the monorail around and check out the other monorail resorts. I don't think you will be disappointed.

I actually enjoy watching it, it's so clever at times. So much better then what I had to endure when my oldest was little.

It definitely has to do with your kids' ages. When my oldest was 7 he totally enjoyed little kids shows and thought it was perfectly normal to watch Dora and Diego, now that my youngest is 6 though he prefers shows like Good Luck Charlie and Dog with a Blog. The youngest always grows up too fast :-(

That is cool that the CM suggested it, I tend to do everything on the computer and I probably miss out on some good suggestions by not calling. I don't think my FIL would have liked switching though.

It's the same way at my house. When DS was 7 he still loved and watched the "little kids" shows. Now that my youngest watches TV with her older sibs, she prefers Good Luck Charlie, etc, and she is only 5.

I also enjoy Phineas and Ferb; there are so many references for parents since I'm sure the creators are our ages. There was one episode that simulated the opening to "The Love Boat". The kids didn't understand why I was laughing so hard. Then I showed them the real opening credits on Youtube and they were like "wow, what else are we not getting?"

I just read your thread asking about Boma and I'm glad you switched your ADR. I was going to suggest to you to either cancel the dinner or make an earlier lunch ADR so you could maximize your party time.

I think your timing will be fine. You can walk around the GF and if you have extra time then ride the monorail loop a few times.

You should be able to get some great holiday pics at the MVMCP! We've gotten some great Xmas card pics at MK.:santa:

Thanks for all the countdown suggestions. The show will air next Wednesday.

I'm going to go crash now. After a whirlwind trip to Atlantic City I had to go back to work today. I'm exhausted. :coffee:

How was it? Did your DH enjoy his birthday? I hope you guys had fun! My sis got lucky on two slot machines. She said they were exhausted when they got home Sunday. It's a good time!

I just started planning mine a couple weeks ago too. I made it easy on myself by not planning any TS meals. Though I will admit to checking for CRT and BOG just because I could. ;)

I once planned a trip 5 days out. Although now that I think about it we lucked into an 8:15am Crystal Palace that trip. pixiedust: At least with that trip I didn't have time to obsess.

He loved it. He was totally surprised. We got up early, dropped of the dog at day care and the kid at Grandma's, then headed north. I think at that point he thought we were going to NY because he was totally shocked when the GPS (we had programmed it without him seeing) told him to veer off to NJ. It just never occurred to him we were going to Atlantic City because he didn't think it was in the budget. Those weekday specials totally made it possible. :dance3:

We didn't win anything big but we had a great time. I'm really glad we did it. Of course, now I'm glad that's all over. The next month should be fairly slow so I can focus on the scrapbooking class I'm currently taking (signed up before any of these trips were planned) and, of course, our Disney trip.

That's great! Happy you had such a good time! Its definitely a fun time...as long ad you know how to limit yourself! lol Where are you from? I thought you guys were from NJ.

Did you guys notice that now the BOG page on Disney's website has a Request now button for FPs for lunch? Check it out: https://disneyworld.disney.go.com/dining/magic-kingdom/be-our-guest-restaurant/

My oldest son noticed it when he was checking out the lunch menu. You can also see the options for modifying the dishes now. Totally cool.

Yes, I noticed it a couple of days ago. It comes and goes on my account so I assume they were still working on it. It did let me click on it, but sent me to regular FP+. Can reservations be made now?

Not sure, I had mine already and I was afraid to mess around with it an anger the computer gods.

I don't see it? But I am one of those who gets the error message "guest already registered". Would be nice though.

I do like the Nutritional Values though. Kinda scary how many calories are in some of these dishes.

I'm sorry, I was hoping it would work for those of you who were getting the error message. Which browser are you using?

I chose Pink but thinking about changeing to orange or yellow I wish the purple had been available

Me too!!! I live purple and really think Disney should be able to read my mind by now and know I need a purple magic band! Not all girls are pink girls!

I was able to make fast pass selections, but no magic bands. Sent from my iPad using DISBoards

Me too....every time I select modify check in as others suggested I get an error and no magic band option, however that is how I got my FP+ options to show up....

Oooh do you mean like no mayo in the sandwich? I need to do that for mom but I just gave DS the CPU back after licking him bc everyone was getting FP+ so I feel bad doing it again to look into this now....lol

Yep, no mayo, or no cheese, or dressing on the side were all options, there was also a way to sub out green beans for french fries if you wanted to be healthier. I was very happy to see that.

Modifying my check-in didn't get me the ability to customize my MB. I aslo had to log out and close down my browser completely and then reopen the browser and log in again. Then I was able to do MBs.

Where do you see the button? On the main restaurant page or after you select a date?

Magic bands are customized! Lol we'll for now....my DS7 did them and we all have pink for no bullying and breast cancer (my mom is a breast cancer survivor and his school has pink day every September to promote no bullying) we will see if he changes his mind on pink by October 13.

Also modified my meal at BOG lunch fast pass...mom will eat now...love that changing to DDP put the total from $47 to $0...wahoo!

On the main restaurant page under the the part about checking for availability for dinner there was a box about it being available for fastpass for lunch and there was a button to press to check for availability. I just went back and know it is gone. It was showing up on different computers, under my son's login and mine for over an hour, now of course it is making me a liar.
