***Official November 2013 - Part II*** (that's right....we're that popular!)

OMG, I just got a fantasmic dining package reservation at Mama Melrose's for 7 people on 11/18! I've been looking for months. The time stinks (2:55) but with the changes to the Fantasmic FP+ I really didn't want to get stuck without a decent seat. We didn't get to see it on our first visit. My FIL doesn't like to eat at weird times, but he is going to have to suck it up. Now of course I have to move all of our FP+ times. I cringe every time I have to do something in MDE and I pray to the FP+ gods that it won't screw everything up.

Anyone need an ADR for 7 at the 50's PrimeTime Cafe around 12:20? I'll be giving that up once I confirm the mama melrose thing with the family.

Congrats on scoring Fantasmic dining package. We have reservations at 12:05 for Mama Melrose sorry we'll miss each other.

You are doing a terrible job getting away from me, we share the same parks on the 15, 16 and 17th!

My oldest wants more pool time, and we were going to go back to the resort on the 19th for the afternoon, but I'm not sure if that is happening now that we got an earlier dinner reservation at 5:15. My head is spinning from looking at the plans. If the two younger ones didn't do Jedi we could do a pool morning on the 18th and then head to HS in the early afternoon. Right now we really don't have enough resort time because we are going to Universal one day. We might get in pool time in the afternoon of that Saturday (11/16) but that would been foregoing the Jingle parade and EE in the dark. So many decisions, this would be easier if I was sure we sure we get back to Disney in within a couple of years.

I'm trying to figure out how to fit pool time in also as my oldest would likely be happiest at the pool all day.
AND I'm so jealous you got that F! package! That's awesome! I wish I hadn't given up my MM F! package when the FP+ option was first available. :headache:

See? I told you I WASN'T trying to avoid you! ;)

I hear you in the planning craziness. After months of analyzing every single day for parks and meals, and then with the FP+ -- every single hour, I finally gave up. We will eat the times I have, go to the parks the days I originally planned (unless you end up being completely awesome and I want to spend another day with you). You will never have enough time to do it all. I haven't messed with my FP+ picks for quite a while now, and with the tiers, I'm scared to even look in case I would mess it up and lose what I do have.

I went to Mama Melrose's for that timeish my last visit and the dinner package deal was worth it to me. Even eating later. We had the dinner package and then around dinner time since we had already eaten so late, we had ice cream before going to Fantasmic.

I haven't even looked at anything as things keep changing.
I don't want to touch my FP+ to adjust things I won't be able to make because I'm afraid I'll mess up the things I am going to get to.

And as far as a pool day, if the long range forecasts stays as it's saying, You'll be at HS on the 18th and do a pool day the 19th. :)

I'm getting worried I won't get my afternoon pool time or nap because the fP+ just got my days filled up. pout. And I want a DTD afternoon too.
I suspect things will work out better than I'm thinking. It's going to all be about timing.

Going to get my sleep so that I'll be officially at 9 days.

The whole FP+ thing is WAY more planning than I usually do for things. I'm sure everything will be changed around completely, so I'm not really worrying about that too much.
I'm just bitter about Disney tricking me into switching my Mama Melrose F! package to a FP+ and then changing the seating on me. I'm hoping we can get decent seats, we don't want super close ones for obvious reasons with my sensory boy, but we also don't want to get there an hour early to get the seats that work for us and have to entertain the kids for that long, sitting still.
And yes, who knew fitting in pool time would be such a challenging thing? I think the FP+ almost makes you feel like you have to DO more. I'm trying to get some of our days down to half days so my boy can get the pool time he wants in. :)
I keep getting correcting by him on my countdown. :lmao: He is going by the actual hour and minute countdown, so he reaches the next day before me and gets upset when if I tell them the "wrong" count. Subtract a day from the count? Sure. O.K., I can work with that!

Nice time you got! i haven't given up on getting an earlier slot so you never know, I may see you there, if not I'll see you at the Fantasmic entrance.

I wish you hadn't either, but it seemed like a no brainer at the time. You are looking for 6 people right? I'll keep my eye out for you if you want. Do you only want mama's or would H&V be OK?

See? I told you I WASN'T trying to avoid you! ;)

Well I am that awesome, so you probably will change ;)

I'm not a planner by nature so this is probably the most planning I've done in my life. Now I really need to get going on typing out our itinerary. I did one for my friend that is there now and she loves it, he husband even put it in plastic he was so happy with it. If only I would do those things for myself my life would run much smoother. I haven't actually touched my FP+'s in a while, but the new dining time will definitely mean I have to move them for that day.

Ha about the countdown, I totally can relate. My 6 year old said he might as well remove another day before he goes to sleep since it's not like sleeping time counts.

We could fit in an afternoon break on the 19th if I keep the 7:15 crystal palace, but I really want to the Chef Mickey now, and that makes it harder since it is 2 hours earlier. I'm hoping they will be happy with night swimming, that is always my favorite time to swim anyway.

For just 5, although I've been checking for 6 as well. :) I'd take either! I like the food options at H&V better but it would be nice to have a sit-down for a change too I guess, so either way works!

Well I am that awesome, so you probably will change ;)

I sooo need a plan like this for my everyday life!

Back to the CP vs CM question again, eh?
I can't swim at night. It has to be at least 80 degrees. Actually it's really the hot tub my son seems obsessed with, so maybe that would work...

I am a total planner but this is pushing my limits. Maybe if I didn't have work and school and the rest of life to deal with it would be ok.

And the countdown is why we haven't told DS. DH can hardly handle my constant reminding him of the days (not doing hours.....yet)!

Yep, would totally go with the CM if my oldest didn't want pool time so much. I keep going to give up CP and then chicken out last minute. As long as the pool is heated I can swim in any weather and so can my kids. My middle one gets cold, but will do it anyway, but myoldest, youngest and I never seem to get cold.

Nice. WDW usually rewards the faithful and patient!!!!

Well kiddos! It 2 DAYS left!

Tomorrow is packing and then we leave Friday night. I think I managed to correct wifey's slip of the tongue with the secret the other day. I told the kids that their grades had earned them the trip but we were not going until February. Told them I had been looking into it , but since Mom said something I wouldn't bother surprising them. The both were super excited about going in Feb! Since it a little white lie I do not feel too bad since they will find out Friday they are actually going that day. My DS actually said he was sad I wasnt going to surprise them this time.....boy is he in for a shock.....

That being said. I will do my best to do short updates daily. I'll post the thread link here so you can follow along and get the latest news. Thank you all for taking this long journey with me, its been a very rough year, by my DIS friends made the wait bearable and fun!

I suspect we will start a new thread after November ...perhaps for post November trip blues/news.

Probably will not post tomorrow or Friday. But I'll be sure to let everyone know we arrived safety Saturday night after our Cali Grill/Wishes dinner.

The last week is the hardest, you guys are right on my coattails!!!!! Safe and magical time to all!!!

See some of you there, hopefully!!!!

Xipo

BTW last year , we never waited longer than 20 minutes for any rides with exception of TSM .....but ya know, that thing is crazy......

I looked on Shelby's lst of november peeps park days and it seems we will be at the Same parks a few times. Ill keep my eyes out for you and you family. Were leaving tommorow morning at 9. Safe travels and have an awesome vacation

Someone above posted that the restaurant cancellation charge is $10 flat fee. That is not correct. It is per person.

Check any blog or the Disney dining plan brochure. The charge is per person if the whole party doesn't show. However, if any member of the party does show, then it's not a cancellation and there's no charge for the missing members.

Sometimes they will waive the charge in a genuine emergency but not always.

Everything I've ever read said $10 flat fee. Moreover, we missed our arrival-night ADR last year due to traffic and were charged $10. Only $10, for a signature dining ADR. So unless that was an exception or something has changed in the last year...

Ok. I have a question. I'm sure I've seen this before but not sure where. My bro was flying in on the 22nd but flights are too expensive so now he's driving but that would mean we would need to leave his car at the resort during our cruise or he would have to pay to park it at the port. Are the rental car agencies near Wdw or that will pick up at the resorts.

Have a great time!! I think no matter what you do, they will be surprised! My DD knew we were going last year, just not "when". The morning we left I handed her our countdown clock, which read '0 Days left' and she went nuts!! Hope she is as excited when we do it to her again in a couple weeks! Enjoy!!

When are you telling DS?

I think the night before, so he can help pack. Possibly the morning of, by putting his magic band on him before he wakes up.
I myself HATE surprises so I have a hard time springing one this big on him. We asked him awhile ago how he would want us to tell him if we ever go again, and he did choose surprise. So maybe he takes after his dad on that one. I worry if we tell him the night before he won't sleep.
More decisions.

The Car Care Center which is quite near the Polynesian Resort handles rentals through both Alamo and National. They will pick you up/drop you off at any Disney Resort. We rented through that Alamo in February. Several other national chains have locations at or near the DTD hotels and I believe you can arrange pick up from them.

In 2012 we rented through Hertz (through a AAA discount) at the end of our WDW stay to drive further south in FL for a week. In that case our car was delivered to us at the Animal Kingdom Lodge from Hertz's location at the Caribe Royal Hotel, not too far away from WDW.
