***Official November 2013 - Part II*** (that's right....we're that popular!)

So excited for all of you whose trips are getting close! But sad because that means my trip is almost over. :-(

Sick child update: my DD was a little sluggish yesterday with a mild fever but toured well with us and by the end of the day seemed her old self! We went to CG last night for dinner and had a great time viewing the fireworks and castle lighting ceremony, but even got to get to see the icicle lights before we left the park for dinner. Someone must have sent me some pixie dust! :-)

We're still here at WDW (Day 6!), so I've missed a lot of posts the last couple days. I did want to clarify a couple things I read...

(1) The ADR no-show fee is $10 -- period. Not per person. If a single member of your party shows up, you don't get charged the fee. So, if someone's sick, the rest can go and be fine, or if you have to cancel on short notice, it's not so big a deal. If it is less than 24 hours (midnight the night before seems to be the actual rule), try calling or going to the restaurant and explaining any extenuating circumstances. (I also heard a CM tell someone the other day that it was no charge for a walk-up cancellation because her computer was down...)

(2) The GF gingerbread house is under constructing now, about a week earlier than last year. It still looks not to be officially open until 12/15 or 16, but it is well under way and we're happy to be able to see more than the frame we saw being assembled on our last day last trip.

(3) It appears MK is doing special holiday events this week ahead of the start of MVMCP, with a special castle lighting show and dance party last night that are rumored to continue through Saturday. So, if you're here, try to stick around. We'll be there Thursday night and again Friday for the first party, so fun times ahead. MK is fully decorated and the music is in full holiday mode.

(4) Misc.: KTTW cards continue to be able to pull paper FPs along with FP+. Paper FPs for popular rides are indeed gone by 9, 9:30 or 10 a.m. now. TSMM FPs were at 6:40 return time at 9:40 on Saturday and gone before 9:45. Make sure to get your FP+ and get paper FPs first thing if you are doing that. Peter Pan remains closed as scheduled but I still have hopes it might open a day or two early. The railroad has reopened as the updated schedule indicated. Sorcerers players/collectors who attended MNSSHP on 11/1 also got last year's party card, but we were given both this year's and last year's MNSSHP cards when we got our daily set yesterday, so if you want these limited edition cards, try to stop by the fire station and pick them up. Refrigerators have been restored at Pop, but there is some painting/door/lock maintenance going on.

Have fun everyone!

Thanks for all the great info!

This time next week we'll be in the air halfway to Disney :jumping1::rainbow:

I know!!!!!! Same here!!!!!!

Pinch me. I had to actually double check. 10 days until Disney!!!:cool1:

DH and I spent yesterday together as it was our official anniversary. That was the best gift he could offer me cause I know his job is important.

I feel like I'm climbing the final steps to board the plane. I keep talking about packing but haven't done that yet. Funny how months ago I had all kinds of lists and such to make sure I don't forget anything. Now I'm in a don't over pack mood so I'm not even looking at lists. It's only a week and I'll do just fine.

Off to my day.

So happy you and DH got to spend the day together, what a wonderful gift. My poor hubby didn't get home until 2am last night. He has soooo many proposals to finish before the vacation. I hope his boss doesn't bug us the entire time down there.

That's so great I'm glad your DD is on the mend. I just love the Castle Dreamlights words can't describe how beautiful they are in person.

I last flew 3 years ago and we didn't have to go through any special screening out of Newark, but the back scatter machines weren't installed at every entrance then IIFC. Even if you are chosen to go through the machines, you can choose to have a pat down instead. Not sure which is worse.

Like Rejoyce said, Holiday Wishes start at 9:30 our week. I was originally looking for an Ohana reservation on the 15th to watch them from there, but my kids looked at the menu and said no way. We are going to the Whispering Canyon Cafe instead now, but we will be done in plenty of time to make it over to the poly to see the EWP and fireworks after dinner.

I know, right? So exciting!

My oldest made himself a LGMH tonight and laminated it. He put it on a rainbow loom bracelet and attached it his fanny back (I swear he choose it, I had nothing to do with it). He looks like the biggest geek tourist now - it totally cracks me up. He's 13 and doesn't care a hoot about what other people think, he thinks a fanny back with two water bottles on it is practical so he is going to wear it. I wish I cared less about what others thought when I was his age.

I think I am only packing clothes for 5 days (we will be there 8) with a couple of extra t-shirts. We will just do a couple of loads of laundry while we are there. We are staying in a 2 bedroom villa so we have the washer/dryer right in our room. if you play your cards right I may let you pop over to OKW and use my washer ;)

Hahaha. Thanks I might call ya up on that ;)

I just feel like a crazy celeb with two giant heavy suitcases. I envy people who "backpack" and travel light.

My youngest is like your teenager. She knows what she likes and what's practical!

Aww that's good news!

Oh no, they are calling for snow the day we fly out, oh please don't let us be delayed.

Someone above posted that the restaurant cancellation charge is $10 flat fee. That is not correct. It is per person.

Check any blog or the Disney dining plan brochure. The charge is per person if the whole party doesn't show. However, if any member of the party does show, then it's not a cancellation and there's no charge for the missing members.

Sometimes they will waive the charge in a genuine emergency but not always.

Just had to decide on what night we are going to do Cali Grill. Didn't realize the nights we booked have 10:00 PM wishes fireworks!! Stinks when you have a 5yo and 2yo. Thinking of trying to get them to both nap that day and keep the 7:00 ADR, feeding them ahead of time, and then ordering them dessert while we eat. Maybe it won't be so bad. Just stinks because we usually eat dinner early and both kids are typically in bed by 8! I guess I can only justify it because its vacation. Just hope they hold up.

No panic! From what I can see the kind of "SSSSS..." can't say it, that they are predicting isn't anything flight delaying.
Think warm thoughts.

I have no idea what they delay flights for to be honest. I never had it happen to me because I've been on so few trips in my life.

Flights are delayed or cancelled because of frozen ____ or icy run ways.
From what I can tell the snow is going to be that pretty ooo look it "ssssss"
but as the sun rises everything will be wet.

What time is your fight? Maybe you'll be gone before it comes, or once the sun melts it.

That's what I'm banking on for my flight day.

LOL the newscaster just told the weather guy "Don't even talk about ____"
I can't write the word, sorry. LOL
