OFFICIAL - NON SPOILER Amazing Race: Unfinished Business Premieres 2/20/11

I couldn't believe no one chose the natural world detour. It looked so much easier and faster than the spirit world task, and was definitely easier and faster for Amanda and Kris.

I was hoping for a different outcome. The eliminated team wasn't my favorite, but there is one team that was really annoying me tonight that I would have been happy to see go.

I agree, making four stencils seemed like it would be easier (once you got the hang of blowing out the paint). It reminded me of Blo-Pens that my dd used to have (without the pen of course!)

I thought the same thing about the detours. I'm guessing the description they gave the racers made it seem more difficult than it really was.:confused3

And I'm thinking you're talking about the same team I wanted to see go. They finished second to last. And boy were they annoying. Even more annoying than the first time they raced.

And I hope I'm not the only one who really wants to try out the kangaroo costume. Especially those jumping shoes. :dance3: That looked like fun.

Who, in the middle of a race says to his daughter, "you'll have to wait. I need to rehydrate?" Oh, yeah, Ron does. Then the whole, "we don't follow other teams." So, if they are going the right way, I guess you should take another route?

Annoying!

The only thing I liked about them last night is when Christina told her father to talk in Chinese so the other teams wouldn't understand them. Not a bad concept... just a lousy teammate for her.

What a comeback for the cowboys!!

While Amanda and Kris weren't favs for me, I would have preferred that they stay in the race over Christina/Ron or Gary/Mallory.

Zev and Justin winning - Yea!!!!

Unless it was just all the editing, I expected more of them to have issues with the spring boots they had to wear with the kangaroo outfits. Marge seemed to be the only one having issues.

Glad to see the Cowboys get the hang of the game again. Ron didn't learn anything from the Race last time. He seems to be the same way he was than.

Is it me, or does Marge seem to be looking for easy way's or is it just part of the game. Maybe I am just annoyed by her. But it just seems like she wants the answers, or she is finding someone with a computer or phone to google and find the answers.

How did Kristine and her dad end up almost in last place. She and her dad were in first place at the end of the first leg. My dh kept flipping the channel to the Oscar's, so I didn't see if they got hung up on a road block.

::yes:: I didn't see the season Ron and Kristine(a?) were on, so I didn't have an opinion of them coming in, but gosh, Ron is just annoying as heck!!

Jaimie and Cara have been less annoying so far, but maybe it's because they've been in an English-speaking country. :rotfl:

I think it's part of the game to look for the easiest (fastest) way to do things. If a team feels that googling is the fastest way to an answer, they'd be stupid not to look for someone with a computer or phone.

And I think you mean Mallory and her dad, right? Although they were first, I think most of the teams were pretty close together and they had trouble finding that Anchor so ended up on the second flight (right? I've already forgotten exactly who got on which flight). The flights then pretty much equalized the teams. The second was only half an hour after the first, right?

I was happy to see Amanda and Kris go last night. I didn't like them on their first season so I'm not sad at all. Ron and Christina, Margie and Luke and Gary and Mallory can go home any time now too for the same reason. I did like Mel and Mike, but this season is different. They don't seem like they belong on the race. I hate to sound ageist, but I think that Mel and Ron are just not up to the rigors of the race. Neither physically nor mentally.

One more thing ... Is it just me, or is there a LOT more Googling going on this race? It almost feels like cheating to me to go to a computer or smart phone and enter a search instead of (1) figuring it out yourself or (2) asking someone. Being able to Google is almost like having an expert with you all the time.

I missed about 10 minutes last night. The way the editing made it look, I didn't think the cowboys would be able to catch the second plane. How did they manage to catch up?
They finally found someone who knew where the anchor was and the plane didn't leave until 6:30 am.

The flights that they had to sign up for didn't leave until the following morning at 6 and 6:30. They guys were able to figure out the clue, do the sail boating thing, find Phil, get the clue to get to the sign up location.

BUT, in the editing, CBS made it look like the Cowboys would be missing the flight. It took a majority of the teams awhile to find "To sail to stop" which was their clue. Once all of them got on the two flights, it evened them all out. The half hour difference wasn't a huge time differnce to make up.

Jen and Kisha were on the first flight - the 1st ones to actually get signed up for that flight - while the Jet and Cord were the last ones to get on the 2nd fligt. But by the time they both got done with the detour and then the kangaroo challenge, Jet and Cord passed the girls up for 3rd place.

Poor Luke. He does not look happy at all.

I really wish they had a picture of Big Easy in his kangaroo outfit. We were laughing at him and Flight Time so hard.

Mel really pulled it together and set his sights on finishing the race. I was impressed that he didn't give up. Given his age and how tired he was, no one would have questioned him if he gave up... but he didn't. I don't think they have a snowball's chance in heck of winning, but he showed perseverence last night.

I find nothing wrong with the racers using whatever means they have to win. While I don't like them paying a cabbie to follow him, I would certainly do the same thing if in their position. I would try to find someone with a smart phone so I could find the answer for sure without having passers-by guess at it. It's not like the racers have smart phones with them and not everyone has internet on their phones, especially when you get into poorer countries. Plus, everyone has that option, so it's not like they are cheating if the clue doesn't prohibit it.

I agree with this. It would be like going on a Trivia Contest and just sitting back and Googling everything. I think Googling should be off limits. You should be able to use a guide book and a map, but no Googling.

I enjoyed last night's episode. Glad that the cowboys are back in the race. I'd have rathered either of the father/daughter teams to have gone last night. The blonde daughter gets on my nerves and the Asian father does also. Maybe they should pair up the Asian girl and the blonde's dad. They'd probably work well together.

Seems odd for so many teams to be working together so early in the game. And different teams working together at different times. I guess it's because they know each other from seasons past.

I would like to see Googling banned on phones. I don't have a problem with them going to a computer. Just want to see an added effort in figuring out the clue/place.

Totally agree with this!

Nothing has changed with the Asian dad and daughter from the last time they raced.

I loved when the punk rocker guy said he didn't get an A in chemistry for nothing.... I would not know what the symbols meant since I never took chemistry.

Right now it's not against the rules but I still don't like it.

Thanks Robin. Sometimes watching, it's hard to tell the time factor. They seemed to be still on the flags while everyone was already past the pit stop, so I thought there was a bigger gap.

In reference to your comment about googling (why does that sounds dirty? :rotfl2: ) I get the feeling that the anchor clue wasn't widely known even by the locals. Not sure if they could have found the answer without the help of a web search.

IIRC a couple of the teams found the answer from people on the street and not from the web/smart phone.
