OFFICIAL New Animal Kingdom Experiences UPDATE 5/28: Reports from first night in Post #2

We were rained out on Tuesday night. They let us use our dining pass for any JB show within 5 days. We went the following night to the 10:30pm show. It wasn't suppose to rain that night. The weather changed the morning of our Animal Kingdom day! So, I would keep the reservation for the day earliest in your trip. You can always go back later in the week.
Yes, I had already planned that way since I assumed there was no way they'd have the show in the rain.
I don't want to see it on our first night, I want to see Wishes but if the weather looks bad we'll improvise. Despite the reviews, JB is higher priority than Wishes for this quick trip. The only other high priority is the new Star Wars fireworks show. We'll be there on it's debut night. Sure hope it doesn't rain it out. We caught the other show during a rainy night and they held the fireworks.

Who is selling the souvenir lantern cups? What beverages can you get in them? Thanks

I believe it is sold at restaurantasaurus - from a review I read:

"Jumping ahead. The quick service next to dinosaur which I think is called Dine-o-rama (but I'm probably wrong or that was the old name). It's the only eater opened as long as the park is there and next to dinosaur.. They had these great light up drink cups that my daughter got and everyone wanted to know where to get it (and quickly more and more had them).. We got the cup at the end of the night but it fits in here if you want one too :)

What do they look like?

Have any of you wondered what the view from the bridge in Dinoland looks like of the JB show? Unfortunately, you won't really find out. We were hurried off the bridge. I whipped out my phone to take a picture and as soon as I got it out, the cm stationed on the bridge during the show did her job of keeping traffic moving. The view is perfect. Don't know about the projection screen? We were walking across it when the fire boats were out. My picture doesn't begin to do it justice because I was moving when taking the picture. The cm was telling everybody the view wasn't good to go see the next show. But the view was good considering it was from a distance. Once the show was over, there was no cm stationed on the bridge.

Awesome! We dumped our Jungle Book FPs and replaced them with a 7:30-8:30 FP for the Safari.

Hopefully, you can catch the last JB show. Seen where there have been seats left.

I saw them at Restaurantasaurus. They have a beverage station. Soda, pomegranate lemonade, water.

I'm hoping, for all the folks with trips next week, the forecast is wrong. Everyone in FL needs to blow in unison towards to gulf and keep that front out over the water :)

I hope it's wrong too. I have so much running around to do, don't need to be driving around in pouring rain and wind!

I'm sure they will cancel even if it's just a drizzle, there's too much dancing to do it on a wet stage

I totally see what you're saying... that seems like it would be dangerous... but is it just me, or does this then seem like just a flat out poorly-conceived show for FLORIDA, then?? :confused3

Yes. Unless they ate thinking along the same lines as Fantasmic! Of course now dhs has nightly fireworks that will continue to draw people in, at ak that would be the tree of life awakening ?
The other thing is the amount of outdoor entertainment with both dance parties, all those entertainment cm get paid regardless of rain.
I have a feeling we will see changes to all of it

If you have a dining package and don't want to go to the show, can you tell them at check in and they'll switch you to the regular menu or do you have to make a new reservation?
We've been able to drop F! from our meal package before - I would think you could do the same here.

Do they really cancel F! even for light rain?? We've only done it a few times over the past 11-12yrs, so I haven't really paid attention to how often it gets canceled.

Is supposed to be bad? I'll be arriving on the 7th, and have park days from the 8th-11th. I've followed the weather and all it says is there are "chances" for rain. Which in Florida, I'm guessing it will rain, but it never rains for that long. That is whenever I have been there.

no, not light rain, depending on the type of rain and winds they might change the show. I'm not sure exactly when they make that decision. Maybe @hiroMYhero will have more info on when the go to F! without the performers?

You may be at the tail end of the worse of it. I'd have to look at the dates again. I think it was like Sun-Tues, so 5 to 8 or so. We don't arrive till the 16th so I only half paid attention but remember thinking it would not be fun to be there during rain like they were forecasting. Anyway, it was while I was watching the national news this morning. They showed a tropical system moving across the peninsula of FL and the entire middle portion, including Orlando, was showing 5+ inches of rain. Said some could be upwards of 7" and include coastal flooding in Tampa area.
