OFFICIAL New Animal Kingdom Experiences UPDATE 5/28: Reports from first night in Post #2

Share your thoughts on the evening safari. I started with a FP in the 8:15-9:15 window then wondered if it might be too dark to see much so I moved it to 7:30-8:30 but now I'm questioning if that will be too light and therefore not really different from a day safari. ACK!!

Going mid-June so I know sunset is pretty late...what are guesses on timing? (also hoping to see Jungle Book in the same evening with a dinner package so I need enough time to get from one to the other but not a ridiculous amount of waiting in line. Would prefer the second show I think, what times are being estimated for these?)

What say your crystal balls?
It won't matter if it's too dark since the savannah will be a constant sunset using Avena and lighting. ..
If they do 3 shows they will probably be around 9pm, 9:45pm and 10:30pm
I'm expecting the show to be around 15 minutes

I get that there will be special lighting, I was thinking for photography it would be too dark and that's OK. I guess if I go too early, the lighting effects won't really make much of a difference so it's really just the same as a day safari. I think I'll keep the FP as is, plan to get in line toward the end of that window so by the time we are actually out on the safari, it should be good and still have time to get to the second show.

thanks!

I'd prefer to do it at dusk so around 8:30 or so but I also want to see The JB show so I have ours scheduled 7:25-8:25.

I'm guessing 9 for JB but that could be wrong. We'll need to do first show probably bc of my young boys (under 5yrs). Not sure about any other show times....

The media reviews said it was too dark to really see much. :(

The Savannah will be lit with artificial lighting mimicking "perpetual sunset".:)
I just watched and read a few reviews from media preview night that said they couldn't see much and the "sunset" screens were behind a bunch of trees and just looked like the trees were on fire. But that it didn't provide much light. Basically dusk was suggested as the best time to go.

My fp for KS on May 27th is 8pm to 9pm, planning on getting in line around 8:30pm, I will make sure to report back.
I've done EE at night and it is awesome.
Thanks, in advance!! I'll look forward to reading about it.

I'm still debating on if I should change the safari FP to earlier. So many things I'm undecided on :sad2:.

I'll wait and see what people have to say but I'd rather do EE at night. I've heard it's great. But to each, their own!

I'd rather do EE at night, too, but I have a sinking feeling, given the fact that you can reserve FP+ for other attractions at night (post 7:30-8:30), but not EE, that it's actually not going to be available at night. Or it will be at night, but only after the JB shows are done (making you have to stay until at least 10:30 to ride it in the dark). Obviously, this isn't as much of a concern at other times of year when it gets darker earlier and you'd be able to ride EE at 6:30 when it's dark, but I have a bad feeling about this. I really hope I'm wrong.

I'm wondering about it myself. I have read somewhere that it will be available but yeh seems weird they don't have later FP available yet.

Will any of the entertainment be offered to September 2016 guests?....Or is this summer only?.....sorry just hard to go through all the information:thanks:

I've read on a few different blogs that EE isn't expected to be running during the nighttime show because it will be too loud and distracting. I'm guessing that it will close (latest FP scheduled and closing the standby line) at least an hour to an hour and a half before the first show as they'll need time to clear the lines. I doubt they will keep the EE CM's hanging around for 2 or 3 hours to open up again after the last show (assuming the park would be open later than the end of the last show).
