Hello,

For all you MNSSHP vets...I will be going with DH for the first time..and we are taking our 2 DGSs...6 and 8..They have never gone to anything like WDW befor much less this awsome party.......
I was wondering if there is a game plan I should follow....:confused3 ....Should I hit the lines for the candy first?...or let it go for awhile?.....Is the parade scary for younger kids?.....I KNOW they would get scared at HM...So its not on the list of rides to do...( this will be our first time we wont be going on it)...

We will have been there since the 22nd of Sept....and are planning on the Sept. 28th party...

Anyway ...all opinions appreciated!:teeth:

We're planning on going to the October 23 MNSSHP!
Got ADR's for the Crystal Palace from 5:15pm.
It'll be our 1st time at MNSSHP, we can't wait!! :woohoo:

The CM I talked to last night said there was no date set when tickets would go on sale, just to keep calling and checking! :headache:

The parade should not be scary for younger kids. The most intense float/act is the HM and the Grave Diggers doing drill type maneuvers with their shovels. Now there is a float with pirates and Capt'n Jack Sparrow and the emphasis is on villains but its Disney and they are nice villains
There are also plenty of the traditional Disney characters but in Halloween 'costumes' which consists mostly of a mask.

The candy thing is a matter of personal decision (and I mean that of the kids  ) If they can wait till later in the evening (and won't be too tired) it will be less crowded and they will NOT give out of candy. I have a feeling that 6 & 8 may give out a little earlier. Also, there are several candy stations and you don't have to go to all of them - you get ALOT of candy.

You might want to look at some of the other activities geared to children that age as well. I know they are offered, I just don't know what they consist of.:confused3 Someone else will have to answer those questions.

Hope this helps a little.:goodvibes

Hear are some pictures of (part of) our crew from 2006. We will be doing these characters again an dwe will be adding Prudence and Pickwick to the mix. Can't wait til MNSSHP.

Awesome costumes!!!!! I don't know if anyone else has had this problem but i tried making ADRS for LTT for sept 21 but the CM said i couldn't make them. She didn't say if they were all booked for that day and i asked could it be unavailable because of the Halloween party. She really didn't say much except for try and call back to make reservations early June and it may be available to make ADRs. I was hoping to eat at LTT this year and am really anxious to make the reservations, hopefully it will be available.

Blackbunny13...that is some serious detailed work in those costumes :thumbsup2

Makes me want to wear something more than the peanuts gang (dressed up in their halloween garb) tee shirt from target I got a few years ago :)

I'll have to keep looking at your pic for motivation--thanks for sharing!

On your way out of the park they have GIANT tubs of candy to "top off" your bag, so if the kids can hold out, I'd get candy last. They also have character trails where you can meet characters you would normally not see, like the cards from Alice in Wonderland. My kids (10,7,6) really enjoyed the parade. The HM float I guess will be the "spookiest", but my kids loved the gravediggers scraping their shovels and making those sparks! I personally loved the fireworks show, one of the best! But the highlight of the night for us was the Dance Party with Stitch! There are a couple of different dance parties, I forget what the other was. But my husband was THRILLED that he got to dance with Donald Duck!:donald: The kids were so cute dancing around in their costumes, and everyone was having such a fun time.

All the activities and times will be listed in the brochure they give you on your way into the park, don't fret, you and the kids will have an awesome time!:woohoo:

Plan to enter at 4pm. Have dinner ressies in MK around from earliest dinner setting to about 5:30pm. You should make these now as they book up quickly (we are doing Crystal Palace again this year, thank you free dining). If you can't get hem in MK try to get them at a nearby Resort or just do counter service, but make sure you get done with dinner before the pary starts. After dinner enjoy the party. If you want to do free face painting line up in Adventureland or Mickey Toontown Fair around 6:30pm do a quick ride or two, then get a spot for the first parade. After that relax and enjoy.
Oh, the scariest part of the parade is the Headless Horseman (and also the most dangerous per the CM's I spoke to) who rides the parade route (very fast) prior to the actual parades, make sure the kids are with you. It is a magnificent sight though.

Note that we went to the Sept 29th party last year and it was sold out (someone told me 30,000 ?), it was crowded but just stay away from the treat lines until the second parade. Then the treat lines are empty. We did not do any rides there was so much party stuff to do instead, and we had a blast. This year we are going to the first one (I hope) on 9/14, which just happens to be my birthday:yay:

I just wanted to add...Fantastic costumes!

Holy Cow, I guess we need to go back and rethink our costumes!

What a great job you guys did in putting them together!

Two Thumbs Up!! :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2

Are the prices listed yet? And when the tickets go on sale?

Darn, a party on 11/2!! We planned on seeing Wishes that night!! Maybe the party won't be too crowded and we can do it then instead of before Halloween.
