"Official" Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party 2016 - Have Yourself a Very Mickey Christmas.

Are they not a credible source? I sure hope Olaf is a M&G this year or I'll have very disappointed nephews!

Not saying they're not a credible source, but typically if something is going to be announced or is rumored Kenny the Pirate, Chip & Co, rteetz (Rumors & News Forum) would have reported it. So maybe a good reference, but not front runners. For example, in 2014, all mentioned about Frozen cast participating in MVMCP, but it was the parade and castle show.

This information is the exact reason I joined this board! I wouldn't have known who the people in the know are. Thank you!

We are trying to decide if we should go to the party or not. We will be there Dec. 22, the last night of the party. Our travel agent advised us not to go because it will be crowded, but I was thinking it would still be less crowded than the 23rd. Am I wrong? We have never been in December and I want to avoid as many huge crowds as possible (yes I know im going the busiest week of the year) I thought it would be nice to ride the rides with lower wait times and see the parade - the later one if my 7yo will last that long. Has anyone been on the last night of the party? is it as crowded as a normal day the week of christmas? Help please!
-let me know if I should start a new post, this seemed like a good place to ask!

MK will be crowded every day that week, no question about it, party or not. I picked going to the party on the 18th since I didn't have a choice if I wanted to see the holiday parade/wishes during my stay. However, I assume since the 23rd is the first day they will be offering the Christmas parade/fireworks on a non-party night, it will be ungodly busy. If you can swing it, buy the party tickets

Crowds pick up closer to Christmas in my experiences around the day before Christmas Eve & on Christmas Eve, Christmas through New Years crowds are higher than week leading up to Christmas. I attended the last party in 2014, it was Sold Out. The Hub was crowded and Main St. for the parade was crowded. 7DMT & PP had long lines. We had no problem watching parade in Frontierland, we had no problems with M&Gs, meet everyone we wanted to (7D, Princesses w/Princes, Minnie, Daisy, Scrooge McDuck & Family, Sandy Claws, Santa Goofy, Donald, Pluto, Reindeer, MVMCP Frame Photos), saw Frozen Holiday Wish Castle Show off to side of Hub, very crowded (still had walls then, not enlarged like now). Enjoyed the treats. Saw the fireworks. Reserved 3FP+. Rode a few other rides. Took other photos throughout park with PP photographers. Arrived at 4pm & stayed until midnight. Reserved 3FP+ for 3:30, 4:30 & 5:30.

We are going with our 4 and 7 year old boys this year. First party for all of us and first time they will have been at Magic Kingdom at night. Our past 2 trips involved days only so they could get to bed . We of course want to see the first parade and fireworks. We also want to meet Scrooge and Peter with Wendy. I am worried about being able to have a good (front row) view of the parade and fireworks. Will I need to find somewhere to sit by 7 and stay there until after the fireworks? That sounds awful. We really want to be able to walk around, ride some rides and take in the atmosphere but I am not sure they will make it too long after the fireworks. Is there a way to see the parade and fireworks that does not include claiming a spot so early?

I was wondering about this too... This will be our first party, so unfortunately I don't have any advice, just hoping someone might be able to chime in!

Took DD8 to 1st party when she was 5. The latest we had stayed out was for Fastasmic! prior to this. We had a late night the night before, IllumiNations, but went straight to hotel --- bath & bed. Slept in, had 9:30am breakfast, walked around resort for ~30min. Went to room, advised we would be laying down whether she napped or not. Ha! She did eventually get a nap. Headed to park @ 2pm, had dinner reservations for 2:45. Fast forward to 7:30, went to Casey's to eat & watched parade from patio. Okay view. Crowd. Everyone & mommas @ Casey's. She was getting tired during fireworks, but we stayed until midnight, she wanted too. Excitement beat sleepiness.

Yes, way to claim spot late for parade & fireworks but probably not good view or where you necessarily want to be unless you're in the masses.

We are arriving November 16th and considering going to the Nov. 18th party, will it be really busy since it will be the last party for over a week?

I have gone to 2 MNSSHP in the past, once with a 3.5 year old and once with a 1 year old and 6 year old. Both times we have been able to find a spot in Frontierland for the first parade about 15 minutes prior to the start. Rides and the occasional meet & greet were always our priority and we have never been disappointed with the spots we get for parade or fireworks. This will be our first MVMCP and I can't wait to see what the difference is!

It could be. That's a little early for the Thanksgiving crowds to already be there. I know there are some Disney cruisers planning on attending that one. Still, even if it sells out, it won't be as bad as Thanksgiving day at MK.

Agree. Also, keep checking MDE daily/weekly for an earlier time. Also, go to the Disney Dining Reservation forum & check the November & December Cancellation Threads, not sure which month you're going. PP post ADRs they're canceling & will coordinate with you. I don't recommend ADRs during party time, but your situation is different, so guessing this only day you can go to BoG. You definitely want to see it decked out for Christmas & have photos with the Beast.
thank you for everybdys help

:santa:Can I use Fast Pass + for the party?
  • YES. You make up to 3 selections for the party prior to the 7 o clock start time. We picked all of our times between 4-6 so we did not miss any of the beginnings of the party festivities. They are no different than making your normal fast pass selections, and you will maximize your Disney experience getting on some of your favorite attractions before the start of the party.
Is this in addition to the 3 fast pass + that you would have with a park ticket - i.e. do you get 3 extra fast pass + when you buy an MVMCP ticket?

You don't get any extra FP's with a MVMCP ticket. Although the way Disney is going, it wouldn't surprise me if it's another monetary add on in years to come.

At 7:05 last December during our party there wasn't a single front row spot left with a fireworks view on Mainstreet or in front of the castle. The party was not sold out.

If you link the MVMCP tickets and the regular park ticket to separate profiles, you can make 2 sets of 3 FP's for the same day.

I'm a little confused. Are there FP's during the party hours? or is it just that you can use a MVMCP ticket to book fp's between 4-6 only.
Also, are there 2 parades? and do they clear out the park for party guests only. I remember reading reports that they were checking wristbands for the attractions but that was it.

FP's are can be made from 4-630 not during the party. There are 2 parades and for MNSSHP we had to get wristbands to stay after 7pm.

So I am in the park during the day of the party as well - so if I linked my MVMCP ticket to another profile in MDE, I could make 6 FP+ for that day before 7pm the day my FP+ window opens up?

I couldn't have the extra profile in MDE because of my OCD but wanted to clarify for others

Correct. Link the party tickets to another profile (e.g using your middle names for each member of your party) then make 2 sets of fast passes, one with the party passes and one with the regular tickets.

I'm curious as to how this would work. Let me get this right, so if I create two new "family members" within my MDE profile, then purchase MVMCP tickets, I then link those to the new family members (my and my BFs middle names?). Can I still use the same Magicband? Sorry, I'm new to this! Also, if it's under our middle names, do they check ID?
