"Official" Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party 2016 - Have Yourself a Very Mickey Christmas.

I am planning for next year. I had a few questions. What is and isn't special going on holiday wise only during the parties? And what can we see or do on regular days instead? My #1 chr meet and greet is the 7 dwarfs. I'd like to see anna and Elsa too but are they the same outfits as (in Epcot?) How many times are the parades and is the fireworks a good view from other places besides just main street? I am short 5foot sometimes 5'1 and I have been known to stake seats out early but we are hoping to do more than just the parade and fireworks so we are trying to figuer out what are must do's , can only do at the paty compared to what we could do other days.

I am planning for next year. I had a few questions. What is and isn't special going on holiday wise only during the parties? Unless you go to MVMCP, holiday happenings aren't available in MK until the week of Christmas and after.
And what can we see or do on regular days instead? You can see the shows, Holiday Wishes and the parade once the parties end as stated above. Not sure about characters.
My #1 chr meet and greet is the 7 dwarfs. I'd like to see anna and Elsa too but are they the same outfits as (in Epcot?) Anna and Elsa are in the show but not meeting in MK this year, I believe. Only at Epcot since they moved to their Summerhus.
How many times are the parades and is the fireworks a good view from other places besides just main street? 2 Christmas parades and 1 Holiday Wishes per party night. Parade starts in Frontierland and goes past castle to Main St. Fireworks can be seen all over, but best views are hub and Main St.

Arrive to preferred shows early, do your homework on viewing spots. Decide if paying for a dessert party with reserved viewing is necessary. Easier for short people to see 2nd parade than first. Your ticket gets you park time from 4pm til 12am+. That's 8 hours of park time.

Hi! Thank you so much for this thread and all of the helpful information. I am attending my first MVMCP on 12/6 and have so many questions! I hope you all will indulge me with answers to a few.

1. Does the second parade also start in Frontierland? At what time would you recommend getting into position? DH and I are both tall so we don't need front row but I would like relatively clear sight lines.

2. We plan to focus mostly on rides, fireworks, and the parade (the character lines scare me and DH has no interest) but I really want to meet Mary Poppins, Bert, and the Penguin. Do you know how long the wait would probably be? We would probably try for the 7:45-8:30 session, maybe lining up at 7:30. Also, does the penguin sign autographs?

3. Can you get a Nick/Judy autograph card without waiting to meet them?

4. Do all of the characters who meet participate in the parade? I'd like to see them all in their holiday attire (as well as just see Sandy Claws, Scrooge, Nick, and Judy).

5. Is the Sleepy Hollow Pumpkin Spice Waffle Sundae only available at the party or is it possible to eat before 7 or on a non-party day?

Thank you!!!

I know at MNSSHP this year they had special treats for those with allergies. Any word on if there is accommodation at MVMCP?

DD has peanut/tree nut allergies, so baked goods are always a concern. I know she would like the snow cone... just wondering if anyone has any more info on this.

Both parades start in Frontierland. If you're watching in Frontierland, I've found you don't need to get there more than 10-15 minutes early -- especially if you don't care about front row. But you probably should watch the parade on Main Street because of the decorations and snow.

I can't help with times, as we don't do character meets. But I think I read the penguin isn't there this year.

3. Can you get a Nick/Judy autograph card without waiting to meet them?

No idea

I don't think so, but others can say for sure.

I believe you can get it before the party starts.

Thank you!!!

I don't think people realize these areas are open to the public, so they're generally both relatively uncrowded. We've found spots in the Casey's side easily on both regular and party nights as much as 15 minutes prior to the start of the fireworks. Arrive 30 minutes prior for your choice of spots.
Excellent info, thanks so much! Is it possible to see the parade and/or the stage shows from this location also? Was thinking stay in one place for Frozen at 815, parade at 8:30, stage show at 925, and fireworks at 10. Good or bad idea to do that here?

I am confused. I read that Cosmic Ray's is open for dining during the party but the dance party is in there. Are they really serving food and if yes, how insane is it to eat there? And how much time do you spend at the dance party?
I haven't seen this answered I'm interested in knowing this too.

Try for Nick and Judy right after the fireworks. (They will be super popular, but my bet is that those "in the know" or who have little kids who want to meet them will go early, and the line will be a bit more humane later on in the evening, whereas I think Jack will be nuts all night.)

This was my plan, but wondering how that actually worked out for anyone. Does anyone know how the line is after fireworks?

The dance party is at the farthest end of the restaurant, we were at the Christmas party last night and stopped to 'awwww' over the little ones dancing with the reindeer from the parade. TOO CUTE! I miss taking my kids to Disney. Now they range in ages 23 to 18 and while they are still fun, the cute just isn't the same. Lol Bottom line is it's not too crazy to eat there!

We are going to the party on Tuesday. Can anyone tell me if there is a good place to watch fireworks that isn't too loud and isn't too crowded. I'll be with my mom who has a mobility scooter and my daughter. Would you recommend viewing the fireworks from behind the castle or maybe at the beginning of Main Street? I know it is not the perfect view but I'm looking for somewhere that won't be too crowded with people shoving and standing right in front of her blocking her view.

does anyone (maybe @yulilin3 ) know how long the characters are there for? like if you got on line right at the 11pm parade could you close out the night that way or could they potentially be done at 11:30?

1. I would assume it would start from the same location as the first one. For the second parade I heard you can line up 5-15 minutes before and get a good spot.

2. I heard their line isn't that long and if you get there early before a new set, you should be good. Unfortunately, I heard the penguin was cut this year. I am very sad about this cut.

3. I am hoping someone else can answer this as I am not sure about it.

4. I do not think characters like Sandy Claws or Nick and Judy are in the parade. However, there are some characters in the parade you can see that you cannot meet.

5. Not sure.

So we're debating getting coordinating family PJs or sweaters from the Disney Store to wear during MVMCP (12/4). We wanted custom Tshirts but couldn't agree on/find the right combos on Etsy. Our Christmas card pic last year was our family of 4 in matching PJs, so we're leaning towards that, but we'd have to change into them at some point since we have a 2pm ADR at Chef Mickeys and our daughter will want to wear her Rapunzel dress for her FP+ M&G. Anyone have past experience with this? Do people just show up in PJs early, or do they wait until the event officially begins? TIA

We want to meet some characters but want to keep it to the shorter waits.

About how long are the lines for Belle, Pooh, Aladdin?

Any others that are possibly short lines?

MVMCP vets, do you think this Friday's party will sell out? I think it's what I want to do, but wanted to wait until I landed (in the event of any delays etc) before buying my ticket.

After a successful weekend, my daughters cheer team is headed back to Disney for Pop Warner Cheer Nationals. We went last year and did the party which was one of the highlights of our trip. I swear someone posted a map on this site to where each character was located. Does anyone know if that link was posted or any tips where it might be located? TIA!

KennyThePirate has the best info I've seen on this.

I personally think your safe with any November parties outside of thanksgiving week. However, December sees a lot more sell outs.

We met Mary Poppins and Bert last Thursday just after 7 and we waited about 15 minutes. Sadly, there is no penguin this year. The line was a little longer later when we walked past, but it was never super long.

I'd love to get the one day memory maker for our party day - I thought I read you can now get it on an app? If so which one and can someone with minimal phone skills figure it out or is it buried in some obscure place?

TIA!
The My Disney Experience app. Once you've taken a picture, access it in the photo pass tab and hover over it like to download. You should then get the option to purchase the photo or the 1 day MM.
