"Official" Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party 2015 Thread - Rockin' Around the Cinderella Castle!

I'm sorry, I wasn't clear. Sometimes abbreviations get the best of me.

Wednesday 12/2 our flight gets in at 10:55pm. So we hope to be in bed by midnight! Lol.

Thursday 12/3: Epcot, 5:00 Candelight Processional, Current Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party night.

Friday 12/4: Magic Kingdom in the late morning, Hollywood Studios and Osborn Lights in the afternoon and evening.

Saturday 12/5: Animal Kingdom in the morning, optional afternoon and evening park time, 9:00ish 'Ohana reservation

Sunday 12/6: Midday flight home, no parks that day

And I will put it out there that I recognize we may be being a little ambitious/crazy!

Are you planning to take any breaks in-between? If you're not, have you thought about just spending all of Dec. 4rd at Magic Kingdom?

12/3: Morning: Animal Kingdom + Afternoon/Evening: EPCOT/Candlelight Processional/Illuminations
12/4: Late Morning: Magic Kingdom + Evening: MVMCP
12/5: Afternoon/Evening: Hollywood Studios/Osborne Lights/Fantasmic + 9PM O'hana

DH and I will be at the party on 8 Nov. I'm as excited as a child! Have always wanted to do Disney at Christmas so this is a dream come true. Thank goodness DH is a Disney fan too! We arrive on the 7th and decided to take in the first party on case we liked it so much we decide to do another. We'll take it easy or shop in the morning then hit the park for 4 and use the party ticket as our first day

Just started reading this thread, so looking forward to all your posts

Ok, so I've read some of this thread, but not all of it.

Is there a way to book FP's for the party WITHOUT calling Disney? I can't seem to find anything available after 7!

Also, is it true that no matter what ticket option I picked, as long as it's showing up in MDE, I'm good to go on that day? I'll be using an AP to enter, probably a bit before 4, but do have the party tickets, too (I think I chose the print at home option, but never saw anything to actually print). Thanks.

My son and I are doing the party on November 13. It's a quick trip, an evening at MK, an evening at HS (for the lights) and Garden Grill breakfast is about the extent of the trip.

Is Santa out all day? What about characters in the holiday finery? Trying to figure out what we should do in that 4-7 hour and what NEEDS to be done after 7! Also, what time does it get dark in Florida in mid-November?

When you order the hard ticket option, do you get your ticket numbers in advance or do you have to wait to they are mailed to you? Will they show up in MDE?

You will get your hard tickets in the mail and ours also showed up in MDE under our reservations.

Do the parties sell out? Sorry if this has already been discussed. Not sure we are going to go or not but trying to make some kind of plan...

There are no FP+s after the 5:30-6:30 time slot because there are only a limited # of tickets sold for these hard ticket events. You can get in at 4pm with your MVMCP tickets but if you have used your 3 FP+ options earlier in the day with AP you will not be able to get 3 more for the party.

I hope this helps.

1. FP isn't available during the party. The latest you can book a FP for on a party day is 5:30-6:30.

2. As long as you have Magic Bands, you don't need to have actual tickets, if that's what you mean.

Thanks to all the posters for input on my scheduling dilemma! Definitely gave me a lot to think on and talk over with my husband. That being said, how fast do these parties typically sell out? I went back and looked at the Official WDW blog with when they announced last year when parties sold out and it seemed to only be a few days prior to the party? I won't wait that long though.

The first and last parties will usually sell out first. The others normally sell out only a day or two in advance, at most. Some day of. You have some time to decide :)

They do. But unless you are planning to attend the first party or the last, you can usually wait to buy until a week or two in advance.

Is there a reason why you couldn't do DHS and O'hana the same night and the party on 12/4?
I was going to suggest the same thing. The lights go on at 6, so you'd have plenty of time to see the lights and make it to a late ADR. Also, as another poster said, Ohana is not worth sacrificing the Christmas events, IMO.

I am attending the Christmas Party on 12/18! I'm so excited, I check wait times on Halloween party nights to get an idea of what it will be like.

Will anyone we wearing special outfits/coordinating outfits with their travel partner? I want to wear something Christmasy and coordinate but not exactly match the husband to be.

Does anyone know/remember if Liberty Square Portrait Gallery is open during the party? and is there another shop on Main Street that does silhouettes too?

Thanks

DH wants us to wear ugly sweaters. I am not sure if I want to or not. We'll see. I saw an ugly sweater t-shirt that would work. No telling what the temps will be. We will do something for Christmas anyway... even if it's just ears or a hat.

I like that idea! I wonder if you can find Disney themed "ugly sweaters"? lol
