"Official" Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party 2015 Thread - Rockin' Around the Cinderella Castle!

Hoping for someone that could do me a favor - we won't be traveling to WDW for MVMCP but they just announced the special card they are giving away, OLAF! If someone going could do me a BIG favor and pick me up one I would be very appreciative!

They give them out at the Firehouse and in Liberty Square during the event. TIA!

I will be there 12/10 and will try to remember to pick this up for you! I personally don't collect them so I wouldn't mind passing mine on to someone that would appreciate it more. We will be in MK all day that day so I will try to swing by as soon as they start handing them out to make sure I get one.

I see no sellout dates yet. Is this unusual? It seems that the Halloween party was much quicker to sell out. It makes me wonder if they have decided to greatly increase the sellout "capacity". Any idea when the first sellout occurred last year? I am going the first Thursday (Nov 12), and I'm curious if it will be at capacity.

I don't often do this, but anyone interested in swapping this year's MVMCP Olaf card for one from a previous year I'd be interested. I know I have extras of some, I just need to find out which.

Unlikely. I think MNSSHPs are simply more popular.

How bad is the Christmas party in the rain? Sunday night is not looking good at all it keeps getting worse and worse.

What about meet n greets? Do a bunch get cancelled? Really wanted Santa, santa goofy and Mickey/Minnie and such.

Plus parade and fireworks.
The Halloween party was a mess in the rain this year...they relocated characters and trick or treat spots without announcing it. We assumed they were cancelled, only to find that we'd been waiting in the wrong place for over an hour...The first parade was delayed, but they try really hard not to cancel it. Same with fireworks.

How critical is it to arrive early, rather than at 7:00? Are there things I may otherwise miss? Thanks!
You will not miss any of the party events, but would miss the opportunity to line up early for any of the special M&Gs (dwarfs or Sandy Claws). Last year and at MNSSHP, Jack started his set before 7 most nights.

"Country Christmas Dance Party" - is this at the Diamond Horseshoe and are there characters there the whole time?

Thats good at least they relocate the characters. Characters and parade are my big things.

Sure. I wasn't planning on getting one as DH is the only one that likes to play. Last years card was Elsa right? If so DD would love it.

I'll double-check what I have and see if I have multiple Elsas. I'll let you know via PM. Thanks! :goodvibes

I added a picture below to help you see the distance between the dessert party area and the castle.

As you can see, it's not that close to the castle and slightly off-set. The view for Celebrate the Magic would honestly depend on a few things, including:

1. The table assignment received for the Dessert Party
2. How close you could get to the rail
3. What part of the terrace you stand in

We were basically at the "hump" to the right of the arrow at the Tomorrowland Terrace. We could have watched the fireworks sitting down as we were in the first row but in my opinion, if Celebrate the Magic is important to you, the dessert party might not be the best idea. It can be seen, but I'm not sure if it can truly be enjoyed from this vantage point.

Hi, we are considering doing the dessert party as well ( Dec 18th)- this is the last night of the Christmas party so, I'm guessing it will sell out. Did the the dessert party a few years back and we couldnt see the Electrical parade but, I think this was due to the barricades, walls and construction. Can you view the parade for the dessert vantage point? thank you

Unfortunately I can't answer your question as we were riding rides during the first Boo to You Parade during MNSSHP and caught the 2nd one from Town Square. If you could, I don't think the view would be very good.

Thanks for the info! Do you know how long the parade is?

On Youtube it runs 16:41. Of course, you have to remember that if it steps off from Frontierland at 8:15, it can take around 20-30 minutes to reach the town square. I would think all parade activity should be wrapped up around 9, but it just depends on where you watch it from to know what time you'll be done with the parade.

Thanks! I never even thought to check Youtube videos for the length!

No, you would not have a good view of the parade from here. Plan to catch the second parade if you are doing the dessert party.
