*OFFICIAL* July 2010 thread! It Was Hot, It Was Crowded...AND IT WAS AWESOME!!

At Atlanta airport waiting for connecting flight. Ready to be home.

We saw a lot of tour groups in MK last Thursday. We saw a couple of groups in AK last Wed. One group in AK was really into pushing past you in the line. I couldn't imagine using a stroller or ECV around these groups as they will block the pathways. DD, DS & I would just weave our thru them.

We had an awesome trip & I would go again in July anytime!

We just got back from WDW a few hours ago.

Let me tell you all that July was pretty brutal. Crowds are HIGH -- our day at DHS there were 22 tour groups!!!!!:mad::mad:We would have gone to another park but had already gotten our special GAD FPs. We had a 30-35 minute wait in the FP line for TSM...had an actual line at Tomorrowland Transit Authority (!!!) in MK. I had never seen a line in all my nearly 30 visits (including June, July and August) at TTA. That floored me!:rotfl2:

We still had a blast but we were tired and hot and cranky and that was just our walk in the parking lot with two strollers!!:lmao: Seriously, even a hot, sweaty day at Disney is better than sitting at home in my air conditioning!

The biggest surprise for me that I didn't factor, was how long it would take to get from one ride to another with two strollers. Definitely plan on getting stuck behind newbies stopping in the middle of the road or a tour group that blocks the entire walkway! I decided to enjoy the building's architecture when this happened to me!:goodvibes

I love July - even with the heat and the crowds, and the tour groups! Glad you all had a great trip in spite of it all.

To everyone going - Disney in the rain is still better than home in the sun! What we noticed is that if it is less than a 50% chance, the weather is good most of the day!

What is the opposite of doing the Happy Dance? I just removed my ticker so am I doing the Crying Dance? I think I'm suffering from PDD (Post Disney Depression).

We lucked out -- only rained once when we were outside and a very light drizzle at that! I was expecting the heavy rains but never saw them.

Oh, I have to remove my ticker now???:rotfl2:

Whatever you call it - I have it too! :sad1:

I hear ya!!

You are very lucky to have missed the heavy rains - they were torrential at times at the beginning of the month - but mostly in the evenings.

It is sad to remove your ticker - but no hurry!!

We're here!! Ran into a DISer, had awesome dinner at Cape May tonight then went thru Epcot, rode monorail to MK, saw MSEP and fireworks. Exhausted and ready for bed. Can't wait to share pics & stuff!! More when there's time....

Hope y'all are having/had a great time!!

My food pictures are up from my trip last week! See the second link in my signature! Enjoy! :goodvibes

We're in Savannah.

One step closer. Doing a 3 hour bus tour of the historic Savannah this afternoon then coming back to repack the car and head out tomorrow for Disney.

Is it sad that i'm not super excited yet? it usually hits me a day or two before but I think because we've already been travelling a week that it will get exciting for me tomorrow when we hit the Florida boarder.

Enjoy your day in Savannah! Ya know what, maybe being so busy with the first part of your trip is a good thing. Then when you finally get there, it'll be that much more wonderful because you haven't been thinking about Disney nonstop like we usually do days before a trip! :thumbsup2

How fun! Was it someone from the July board? Have a great time!!!

I always get excited when we hit the Florida border - I know what you mean though - we did a longer drive down last year and it sort of diminishes the excitement till you get closer.

Loved the food pictures!! I thought it was really great that you also took pics of the outsides of the restaurants. That is a great shot of TRex!

Apparently the second link wasn't showing up, so now I fixed it. I only noticed this because you mentioned T-Rex and we went there on our last trip! The new pictures are part 2. :)

I enjoyed BOTH threads - great pictures, and you had so many that reminded me of MY vacation - we stayed at AS Sports for part of our trip and we ate at several of the same places......I also love your picture of the giant Gummi Bears in Germany! DS LOVES gummi bears and we almost came home with one. DD loves Pockey from Japan and I see you like it too.

I had to buy one of the gummi bears. I haven't tried it yet but I hope it was worth $6 bucks! :lmao:

Just have to comment on this, my boyfriend and I LOVE pocky. They always sell it at the comic book conventions we go to and we have an asian grocery store near us that sells it. We didn't pick up any pocky this trip but got pucca instead which is another favorite of ours! We are actually planning on getting two puppies in the next year or so and I've already decided their names will be Pucca and Pocky!

Wow-we didn't even encounter crowds like that the week of the 4th! It was definitely hot, though.

I had to buy one of the gummi bears. I haven't tried it yet but I hope it was worth $6 bucks! :lmao:
I looked for one of those when we were in Epcot on July 4 and they had none:eek:. I forgot to go back, but my DD really wanted one.

Keep us posted! I did not get any for DS, because he has an orthodontic appliance and is not supposed to be eating sticky stuff. He will have to wait till he gets his braces off!

Too cute!! Those are great names for puppies!!!

I agree - I thought it was fairly empty the week of July 4th! Now, I swear - July 4th was the day we saw the giant gummy bears in Germany or it might have been July 1st....
