I mentioned to DH how many days till Disney - he did not want to know, because in his opinion, once we get back, summer is almost over - and it hasn't even started yet!

5 weeks of school left to get through - and my kids have a ton of papers and projects to get through. That part can't end soon enough!

I am very excited to meet Lotso Huggin Bear! We love Animation!!! Make sure you do the "tour" because that little show with Mushu is sooooo cute. We also did the "draw with a Disney artist" last trip and it was so fun! Nobody in our family is artistic - but all of our Pooh bears turned out pretty well!

We leave in 2 months from today for our trip! Even though we don't get to Disney World for 5 days after that...but still, that is when the vacation officially starts and so 2 months is exactly how long I have to finish our touring plan, make our packing lists, and make sure I buy everything else we need to bring!! It's so close now!

The kids at school are so antsy already...we have 24 teaching days for high school (because of NY State Regents Exams...elementary and JHS kids have 2 weeks more of classes than HS kids). I still have 2 more tests to give, and some of the kids already think it's summer! I always say that this is the time of year when teachers earn their summer off!

Happy Mother's Day to anyone who it applies to, and to everyone you know and love too!

On another note for the July peeps...
This might be a 'sore subject,' but we have gone in July for the past 3 years because we got married in WDW in 2007 and then have gone each year for our anniversary. Last year, however, we went in late June/early July instead of going during our anniversary week (July 12) for one reason... the Brazilian tour groups. Does anyone know if they are still out in full force in mid-July?

Our friends have a business called Sticks and Stones- you can google it. Essentially it is photos of anything that look like letters and they frame them into words. For example, it your name is "Smith" you can get smith framed. Hard to describe but very cool.

Anyway, Disney (and Michaels frame shop) contacted them this past year and they are now collaborating. Sticks and Stones with Disney will be available at the parks in July! She said July 15th! Something to save for if you'd like a unique souvenir. She was polling us for word ideas and we were giving her ideas like "dream" "Wish" etc.

Here's a part to be jealous of: they got to go to the parks when the parks were empty and wander aimlessly taking pictures for her work. *sigh*


I'm really hoping they come out a bit sooner because I'm scheduled to go home on the 15th and will be bummed if I miss it.

I just had to tell someone.

Wow, I can't believe I'm just finding this thread! We'll be at Bay Lake Towers from July 21-25, then at the Yacht Club July 25-29. And yes, I know it will be hot! This is our 3rd July in a row heading to WDW and we don't mind the heat, the crowds, or even the Brazilian Tour groups!!

Yes, they will be. We went in '08 from July 12-16 and last year July 19-25. Saw plenty of Brazilian tour groups both times.

We have been earlier in July and then last year towards the end of the month. I thought there were more groups toward the middle/end of the month. I am curious to see if that holds true since we are they at the beginning of July this year again.

Ok, here's a fun thing to share with you July people (like me)

Our friends have a business called Sticks and Stones- you can google it. Essentially it is photos of anything that look like letters and they frame them into words. For example, it your name is "Smith" you can get smith framed. Hard to describe but very cool.

Anyway, Disney (and Michaels frame shop) contacted them this past year and they are now collaborating. Sticks and Stones with Disney will be available at the parks in July! She said July 15th! Something to save for if you'd like a unique souvenir. She was polling us for word ideas and we were giving her ideas like "dream" "Wish" etc.

Here's a part to be jealous of: they got to go to the parks when the parks were empty and wander aimlessly taking pictures for her work. *sigh*


I'm really hoping they come out a bit sooner because I'm scheduled to go home on the 15th and will be bummed if I miss it.

I just had to tell someone.

That sounds so fun!! Unfortunately, we are leaving the 14th - how lucky to be in the park when it was empty!

Wow, I can't believe I'm just finding this thread! We'll be at Bay Lake Towers from July 21-25, then at the Yacht Club July 25-29. And yes, I know it will be hot! This is our 3rd July in a row heading to WDW and we don't mind the heat, the crowds, or even the Brazilian Tour groups!!

Teacher here too I guess it would make sense that the July thread would be made up of a lot of teachers We have 18 days left (2 of which are 1/2 days for the kids.) Come on summer!


On another note for the July peeps...
This might be a 'sore subject,' but we have gone in July for the past 3 years because we got married in WDW in 2007 and then have gone each year for our anniversary. Last year, however, we went in late June/early July instead of going during our anniversary week (July 12) for one reason... the Brazilian tour groups. Does anyone know if they are still out in full force in mid-July?

Funny you mention this...we saw several Brazilian tour groups on our July 2008 trip (we were there the 13th to the 18th, right smack in the middle of the month). However, the crowds of them didn't affect us or bother us at all. The closest we came to being affected by them was actually on our very last morning. We had a 7AM ADR for Chef Mickey's, and we got there at 6:45. There was one party of 4 ahead of us so we were happy! About 3 minutes after we arrived, a tour group of at least 100 people arrived. Boy did we feel lucky that we got there right before them, but I was worried that the buffet lines would be impossible. Once we entered the restaurant and the server took our drink order, I went up to the buffet to get the boys some food. No line problems. DH went up while I cut up the food for the boys at the table and stayed with them. He had no problems. Then I went up to get my own food. No problems, the tour group was already in line but the line moved well, none of the tourists were rude at all, and I didn't sense that they felt that they could just take over the restaurant because it was such a large group. So, even though we were there at the exact same time, their presence did not negatively affect us at all! And believe me, even though there was only the one party of 4 ahead of us and then the tour group right behind us, plenty of people that were behind them were eating at the same time as we were! So, in this particular case, Disney was very efficient and the tourists were not acting rude. On the contrary, I have been at attractions, restaurants, stores, etc. at the same time as a small group of 3 or 4, or even a solo tourist and have encountered rude people. It's just the luck of the draw.
