I just got all of my reservation stuff today (luggage tags, disney dvd, ME reservation info, trip info, room reservation info, and coupons for stuff while down there). We have everything we need now for the trip, except it is not time yet. Can't wait.

Soon enough my friend, soon enough!

but they won't sell them to me because i'm in canada even though i wanted to have it shipped to POFQ

'The Taste of Africa Street Party' coming to Disney's Animal Kingdom on July 9

We mentioned last week that a new entertainment offering was heading to Animal Kingdom for the summer, and we now have some more details to share.

The full name will be 'The Taste of Africa Street Party', and it begins on July 9, running nightly until July 24 2010 in the Africa section of the park. It's currently a limited time test, but may be extended if it proves popular.

The event begins each night immediately after Mickey Jammin' Jungle Parade, and runs through until park close. On Extra Magic Hours evening, the event will continue until the end of EMH.

The entertainment offerings include:

* Music and dance party with Harambe's DJ Khalifa
* Outdoor vendors selling unique food and beverages offerings
* Performances by featured musical group, Wasslou
* Beer and wine tastings at Tamu Tamu Courtyard
* Authentic merchandise options available for purchase
* Animal Education experiences with the Harambe Wildlife Team




Also, be sure to check the calendar for extended MK hours. They added double parades and extended by an hour for some days!

Today was my babies last day of school. One is going on to 4th grade and the other is going to 1st. It wasnt even really a "school" day persay. They just all played in the sprinklers outside in the sun and had a PTO sponsered BBQ (parents brought in deserts, drinks and sides). Now me and my 3 DD's are all sunburned. I kept walking around in the heat thinking "If I were in Disney right now I would soooo want to be on Splash Mountian".

Tinkerbell~DH and I were thinking about driving the next time we try a family vacation. We wanna stay at the Cabins at Ft Wilderness and driving down would save us money. Or we would stay at a Moderate or Value resort. Only way we could keep doing Deluxe is if we always use the military discount or if by some grace of pixie dust we win the lottery and I get the DVC (I have the DVC bug right now as is).

Does your bagallini have the magnetic closure? Mine keeps deactivating our park passes......

I will pull it out tomorrow and check, but I don't recall one--lots of zippers and compartment, but I love that.

I know what you mean.... driving does help save money - especially for a family of 4 or more. I would rather drive and stay in a value than not go at all.

Thank you for this information! At first glance I didn't see the July 9th date then I went back and looked at the post again...and we are in AK on July 9th! I have it planned for the afternoon till close! We will have to check it out!! If we go, I'll be sure to let you all know how it was!

This thread moves way to fast for me I got a hipster in Raspberry Fizz when someone posted about the St. Patrick's day sale. I carried it all around Disney in April and it was awesome, very light. I am little more concerned about July though because it is so hot. I used to carry a passport holder with a long cord attached, I'll take both this summer and see which works better.

My kids finally got out of school, and we have a busy summer ahead! Before we go to Disney we are going away for July 4th, then I decided to take my DD to NYC for her birthday in lieu of a party (all of her friends are away anyway!) then less than a week before we go to Disney! Busy and fun summer ahead of us!!
