HaHaha! Yeah, I'll go on a little run tomorrow with the headpiece. It might get a bit hot, but it feels pretty secure, so I'm not too worried.

LOVE the pedi, AnotherPrincess! SOOOO CUTE!!!:thumbsup2

Awesome!!!

Sumlee, you look great! I bet you're going to have some awesome race pics! :thumbsup2

I can't wait to get to the start area and people watch...I love seeing all the elaborate costumes and also seeing some of the more subtle ones and how people adapted it to their running-wear. There are definitely some creative, crafty people out there. I would like to get slightly more in theme at next year's Princess half, but haven't figured out what I'd like to do yet...we'll see. I have a hard time getting away from my basic themed iron-on and team sparkle skirt...it's just so comfy :)

I plan to finally make a dent in the packing tonight after my last, short training run. I got home sooooooo late last night after the Beauty & the Beast show and I'm sooooo sleepy now. The office Keurig's gonna be workin' overtime today. :surfweb:

Does anyone on here use SuperFeet insoles? Not necessarily for running, but maybe everyday wear? I bought a pair on a whim and thought I'd try them out in just some walking-around shoes. I'm really worried about my feet on this trip with the PF issues...I know it's going to be aggravated by the 10 miler, but I'll still have 4 more days of park-walking/Food & Wine gorging to do afterwards and I really don't want to be limping around! I thought they might help with some arch support. :confused3

Thanks everybody! It's all waterproof makeup, so it was a pain in the you know what to get it all off!

Summer, how was Beauty and the Beast?! Did you like it as much as Lion King?

Definitely was not as good as Lion King IMO. I enjoyed it though, but got sleepy after intermission like I always do :rolleyes2 I was super disappointed with THE dress though...the grand one that Belle wears in the last scene...the iconic golden yellow one...it wasn't yellow?!?!?! Weird. Parts of it looked white, with a tiny bit of other parts of it being a very buttery light yellow, but all overlayed with some light pink sheer material? :confused3 Oh well. I'll go see the one at HS next week so I'll feel better :thumbsup2

Unusual question, hoping someone has experience with this..

DH just decided that he wants to do the after party to see me. Well, of course it's sold out :((

A friend of mine registered but isn't running now because she will be out of town. Can I pick up her bib and use it to get DH into the party?? Can he show up like 11:30 and even get in with the bib?? And clearly it won't be in his name (or even gender!!)

Any advice or ideas much appreciated! I did the princess this year but there was no party so I don't know how this works.

I have been signed up for this race the day the registration opened and I have been following this thread since last Dec, and I have to say that this is the most SLOW week ever. I leave Friday morning and I am so beyond excited that I can hardly wait!! I am ready to do this run and enjoy the food any wine! :woohoo:

OMG, me too. It's only Wednesday??? Come on already!!! :hyper:

You'll need the signed waiver from your friend to pick up the race number. And I'd ask at packet pickup "where do I go if I'm not running and just want to go to the party?" I'm sure Disney has a way for him to get in with the other party guests and not wait until 11:30.

Loooove it, sumlee. I thought about water proof makeup but when I went to buy it I decided I didn't want to spend anymore money. Lol

I purchased a ticket for my DH for the after party and it was mailed to me, after that time my sister decided she wanted to go so I ordered a ticket for her but the only option was to pick up at Will Call. Does anyone know if those tickets can be picked up at Wide World of Sports at the Expo or do we have to make a special trip to a park or Ticket & Transportation in order to get the ticket?

Just hoping someone else has found the answer to this.

Thanks!!

There is a place at World of Sports to get your tickets.. I got my park tickets there in February.

Hi all!

It's been a long while since I've been on this thread, due to a knee injury that had me bummed for a while (but it's all better now!!!) and just general busy-ness. Sadly, I definitely do not have time to go back and read all that I've missed!!

I agree with those who said this week sloooowwwwww. I need a time machine, lol. I'm so excited, since this will be my first Disney race AND my first solo Disney trip! :cool1:

I'm sure this has been discussed before, but I have no idea where to go back to find it, but I'm finally packing and trying to work out what and how to pack my bag for after the race. I'll have to use bag check since there won't be anyone there for me to hold a bag. What do you guys plan on bringing? So far I have change of clothes, deodorant, dry shampoo, mini brush, cleansing wipes, and change of clothes. I'll keep all my important stuff, id/KTTW card/etc. in my arm band. Does this make sense? Any suggestions? I've never actually run a race completely solo like this before so I'm just looking for any pointers.

Thanks so much!!

Can't wait til my flight Friday morning!! :goodvibes

Anyone else already getting the pre-race jitters? Woke up this morning with my stomach in knots! We're scheduled to fly out around 8 in the morning, so I can barely contain myself! Wishing you all safe travels and a fun, safe race! :thumbsup2

Love it!!

I finally got my costume done today. (better late than never, right?) I ran for 2.5 miles on treadmill and realized it's a hot costume! I will be the Witch Dr from Princess and the Frog. (still hoping to watch the movie before the race! :rolleyes1) I took an Under Armor Polo shirt and cut it up to make the coat and tails. I threw that on top of the purple tank top (which is NOT as moisture wick as I thought it would be) and DH's old cumber-bun he didn't need and I made red. I was going to wear black capris with a a slight flair so I could pull them up if I got hot and compression sleeves. I am rethinking the whole bottom part now. I also found a top hat that has a red ribbon, feathers, and a glow in the dark skull and bones. I still need to make his necklace.

I plan on having a change of clothes in my checked bag. I figure I will need to put on something dry! Depending on how the party is, I might just switch stuff out so I can stay in costume. I also will have my recovery shake and a bottle to mix it. I didn't have it for the 5k and really missed it, since I always have one after a run.

Does anyone know if my DD and her friend will be able to see my cross the finish line or should I send them somewhere else to see me after I get my medal? I haven't had time to look at the map so I don't know where would be best or how they would get to the end if it's possible.

I leave tomorrow afternoon. Good Luck everyone and safe travels!!

Love that all of our tickers say "1 day until Disney," 3 days until Tower of Terror...":cool1:

Safe travels, everyone!

Hi everyone,

Long time disboarder, but first time to this thread. Wish I would have found this sooner! Just curious if anyone has any tips for a newbie. Can't seem to find a lot of info about night races in particular.

Not running ToT this year. But excited for everyone running.

Have a great race!

I am getting pre-race jitters but mostly because we have been here all week and I feel fat, hungover, and exhausted....lol!
