Figured I'd start a new thread for this. Friends got me a ticket for the preview last night, and while delays cost us a lot of time (Bill & Ted ran like 25 minutes late), I got so see some. SLIGHT SPOILERS.

Hallowed Path: A nice "greatest hits" house. A real treat for those of us who have been going for years (Alice from Scary Tales! The Body Collectors!), but first timers might be confused by the lack of thematic consistency.

Catacombs: I liked this one a lot. Really captures the feeling of being underground, a lot of scares.

Legendary Truth: Didn't make it to this one in time (ended up with maybe 3 hours in the park), but friends who did and team members around the park all rave about it. Definitely plan to hit it Friday night.

Bill & Ted: My one disappointment so far--was really looking forward to this, but it fell completely flat. Plot is never B&T's strength, but this year seemed especially random. Nothing particularly funny, either--it's like we're supposed to laugh just because we recognize the pop culture characters. Didn't help that a lot of the bits (Tom Cruise, Lady GaGa) felt recycled from previous shows. Hoping some re-writes can salvage this.

Headed back Friday, hoping to catch the rest of the houses.

Totally agree with you. The Hallowed Path was just an assortment of areas past, but since this was my first HHN, it was still pretty cool. Random, but cool. I also did the Catacombs, but honestly was not as impressed as I was with Hallowed Past. As for Bill and Ted, my wife was telling me how I missed out last year and it was the only thing she wanted to see. Needless to say, everyone was extremely disappointed. Seemed to be a small shadow of its former glory from the people I went with who have visited for over 10 years. They said it was by far the worst year for Bill and Ted. We had a great time though.

That's really disappointing to hear about B&T. Last years show was really good I thought and I was looking forward to it again since we have free tickets to HHN.

We aren't going till Oct 23rd, do they usually rewrite the script or make changes at this point?

MANY THANK YOU'S for this thread!!

I wouldn't be too concerned about Bill and Ted's at this point.

The rewrites will come through after the first weekend for that show.

it is always one of the highlights i look forward to during hhn.

i used to go opening weekend but changed to the 3rd weekend some years back.

hhn is tweaked by that time and i like it that way.

bill and ted's will arise from the ashes again.......
it will probably be so changed over by the 3rd weekend where homies will love that show.

Mods: Can we make this the Official HHN XX Review thread?

Pyro--they start making changes to Bill & Ted after the first show. They have to see what works and what doesn't. I give B&T 7/10 this year. Entertaining, but lacking.

What I saw

Houses:
Catacombs: I did not enjoy this house. Weak scares. See it if you're not pressed for time. Skip otherwise.

Legendary Truth: AMAZING. Great scares, great set design, great technology/tech-based scares.

Zombiegeddon: Good fun, good scares. I liked it a lot.

Scarezones:
The Coven: Eh. The ugly witches had better scares. The sexy witches were too sexy to be scary.

Saws N' Steam: COOL! Steampunk + chainsaws = fun! Nothing beats watching three chainsaw guys swoop in on someone at once.

Zombie Gras: Fun! I got some beads and didn't have to sacrifice brains! There was also a Lady Gaga-esque zombie. Ha ha.

HHN 20 Years of Fear & Fear Revealed I'm combining these two because they're so close to each other. These were great. Fear is really cool looking and his masked minions looks cool with led light masks. All the icons, including Cindy and Eddie (who never made it) were around. Several other major characters from years past were around as well. No Mary, though. This area is a tribute for HHN fans. Many newbies to HHN won't get it.

I can't wait to go back and see the other houses I missed!

My reviews. This is in order of houses which we did.

Pyschoscarepy - I liked it, probably my third favorite. I had never seen then earlier ones in the past, so it was new for me.

Hades - My favorite of the ones I saw. I think I liked it because all the Scareactors in it were masked and looked like creatures, so it added to its creepiness. That, and the cast really seemed to be on their game.

Zombiegeddon - definetly a funny house, especially the 2nd room. The scares don't pick up until halfway through the house, when something goes wrong.

Hallowe'd Past - my second favorite house. It was great seeing all the greats from the past. House Spoiliers:

I liked the Dead Exposure room and the Treaks and Foons room the best.

Catacombs - Could not understand this house. It reminded me a lot of the Hallow, but I couldn't really follow the story. Not too great of scares.

Orphanage - We caught this on the way out. The idea behind it is obvious, and there is smoke and fog throughout the entire house, but the scares were lacking, and there seemed to be a supreme lack of scareactors.

Still need to see Legendary Truth and Havoc.

went to 7/8 houses. favs were legendary truth and hallowed past. i've been going to hhn for awhile so it was cool to see a mix mash of everything in hallowed past. legendary truth was very detailed and well done. just missed out on psychoscarepy.

I figured I would post this under the view thread, even though it's not technically a review. It's the full entrance archway video:
http://www.examiner.com/theme-parks...ersal-studios-orlando-halloween-horror-nights

I will actually have something very, very, very cool from the Team Member preview last night, but I am not allowed to post it or discuss my views until 12:01 a.m. It should be good tho' as it's something that has never been done before (I actually haven't seen the final result yet myself but it should be in my hot little hands very soon).

Well, I'm very excited for this. Any way you can post it at 12 and one second? 12:01 sounds really late and I have work in the morning. I can't have you keeping me up til these wee hours.

Alas, it has to be 12:01 although I haven't received the material yet so I may have to wait till tomorrow. I'm dying to see how it turned out myself. It's something they've never done before at HHN.

It's not by any chance the live streams from inside the houses (it was posted on HHNRumors earlier)? Which sounds really cool! (btw for those of you who didn't see it will start at 9:30 tomorrow at http://www.halloweenhorrornights.com/orlando/news_index.html , also at 6 it will be the opening live stream).

If not, can't wait to find out what it is :thumbsup2

It's not the inside stream, but close! They let a few bloggers have one hour to actually film with flip cameras inside as many houses as we could hit. I managed to do five, and Universal took the cameras and is editing the video. They are going to have it ready some time Friday, and I was hoping it would be very really early because we were not allowed to post stories till 12:01 this morning. At least I can give you my brief house reviews until I get it some time tomorrow. I kept them kind of vague and spoiler free because it was technical rehearsal so I don't think it's fair to pick them apart (at least not yet). Click here for the reviews, and I will post the footage as soon as I get it from Uni. I'm dying to see it myself!
