**Official Frozen Sing-Along, Oaken's, Holiday Premium Package Tips, updated 1/5/15

No rope drop show. Frozen is gone except for snow, trading post and singalong.

The big screens are gone. The event stage is gone.

There are only two options for the sing-along now. Either get a FP+ if it's available or wait in the standby queue.

I'd try going to a kiosk to see if you all can get a time together. We tried that today. We had a FP+, but the other people with us entered on their main gate and were unable to get a FP+ for any time at a kiosk.

Just curious, but why would you recommend this? They have set show times do they not? So whether you have standby or FP, you are going to see the show at the same time right? It's not as if each show is reaching capacity and standby guest are being asked to wait the entire length of the show to enter right?

I would not make that assumption. Standby may or may not get into the next show--that's why it's called standby.

Yesterday, our show was SRO. People not far behind us did not get in and ended up waiting an hour for the next show if they stayed.

Today the 12:35 show was a totally different story. We had FP+ and the entire standby line was inside and seated BEFORE we got in. And we joined the queue at 12:10.

Was there reserved seating for the FP folks? Or did you have to sit behind all those in the standby line?

Good to know. I just assumed with the moving to the larger theater and (I thought) an increased number of shows per day I could simply show up 10 minutes before a show and get a seat like Indy.

The show does not appear to be moving.

I am considering bumping up the singalong to an "A" priority attraction depending on reports over the next few weeks. Removing the return tickets and package seating and adding the DAS option changes the dynamics a bit--standby may have just gotten harder. Tough to guess without more info.

And I agree with lovethattink that it doesn't appear to be moving in the near future at least. Maybe in a couple of months or after the new year, but not just this moment.

So many variables and unknowns to consider!

These changes are killing me!! Just when I think I have my DHS day mapped out, something changes.

I have a FP+ for Frozen for the 1:40 show. FP window is open 1:15-1:30. I have Mama Melrose lunch reservations for 12:20. Will I be ok to make it to the FP line and still get a decent seat? It's the number one thing my girls want to do at DHS and I don't want to be way in the back or standing.

Based on lovethattink's experience with FP and being seated after the standby line, it sounds like I should aim on getting to the FP line at 1:15 sharp. Any thoughts? Should I reschedule my Frozen FP? TIA!

We had a great day today at DHS! Played in the snow thrice, saw the singalong twice. Our afternoon ended with a very nice conversation with Dan Cockerell. We are really excited about the Frozen changes made over night and those to come!

Does anyone know when they started letting people through the gates today?

No, sorry.

I agree. Today one wasn't needed, but yesterday it was. I'm sure the holidays will be interesting to see how they play out. I don't see standby cards coming back any time soon.

That's going to be one quick meal. What if you aren't seated right away?

Today at each show we went to, the FP+ line started to be let in 2 minutes before the standby line. Then both lines were entering the theater at the same time. Standby moved much, much faster. Scanning magic bands slowed things down.

That is a big tease!!!!! Please share what is to come.

Tell me about it. He was just starting to tell us how the snow is going to change. and my ds interrupted to tell him he saw someone eating the snow.

I'll post pictures of Oaken's once I get them downloaded. Just keep in mind things will continue to be tweaked. Expect the snow area to eventually double!

We felt the new Oaken's was much, much nicer than the old one. Of course, we missed the skating demonstrations, since there is no ice skating.

The way Disney keeps adding paper passes and then taking them away from all these Frozen attractions it seems like the only way to guarantee admission is use a FP. I am 18 days away from going to Hollywood Studios with my grandaughter and family there was availability for a Frozen Singalong thid afternoon in at least a half dozen time slots and I was able to get passes for our group of five people. Maybe I was lucky but I hope this info helps someone else on these boards.

I was giving myself about an hour for lunch. Is that not enough time? It is a tight window. I guess it's back to the drawing board for me! Thanks for the input :)

I've never eaten at Mama Melrose. Maybe someone who has eaten there recently can shed light on how long it took them. I suppose you could ask for your bill right away so that it's squared away and you can leave as soon as you are finished?

I know when we've eaten TS at 50'sPTC or Sci-Fi, it's always taken us at least an hour and a half. We usually have to wait to be seated and wait a while for the bill at the end.

When we got out of the show each time, the FP+ line was lined up outside the show exit, up the ramp and zigzagged near the Cars M&G. I'd guess people started to get in the FP+ line 30 minutes ahead of time today.

The only reserved rows are the center 1st row and center last row for w/c seating. The 2nd row is reserved for VIP and overflow w/c. The back right side is often reserved for those who can transfer with parking right behind the seating area.

Do you suggest lining up 30 minutes ahead of time with FP+. That seems so crazy but a mom's gotta do what a mom's gotta do. :sad2:

We'll be there in 3 weeks on a low crowd day (supposedly!). Fingers crossed that I don't screw this up! Thanks for your help and insights!!

That's up to you. We've had good viewing both front and back of the theater. If you want to be one of the first in the theater, then you will want to get there before the return window. They just won't start letting people inside until the return window. Much of the FP+ line is in direct sun. There is some shade at the very front of the line and under the umbrellas throughout the queue.
