Too late. Johnny's on his way home with mint choc. chip. Is this how we help each other lose weight? If so i like it!:thumbsup2

I'm not a big fan of posting pictures of myself...you know the whole self confidence thing, but if Rog can do it then so can I.

This was May 2003 I was 33 years old then and my heaviest

This was last Sunday at 38 years old

I've done well and I've lost about 60 lbs and managed to keep it off with a whole lot of ups and downs along the way. My doctors tell me I still need to drop about 20 lbs, but that is so hard :faint: I will keep plugging along and only time will tell. I'm thankful for our Disney trips as that is a huge motivator knowing that there will be 100s of photos taken.

holy schniekies, way to go!!! hubba hubba

Wow what a huge difference. You will find motivation, but it may take some searching before you stumble upon it. We've all been there and still struggle everyday.

how come there's more of that tree in your pic than me, I feel, hurt.

Okay.... this is it and I'm gonna need A LOT of help!!

I'm 54 years old.

I'm 5'7".

When nekkid and after the morning "duty", weigh 218.

I have high blood pressure - partly due to heredity, but mostly due to myself (on 4 meds for that)

I have high cholesterol (1 med)

I am diabetic - diagnosed 1 year ago (1 med).

My life style is virtually sedentary - except when I'm working at THD - but that doesn't accelerate my heart-rate - just makes my feet hurt.

When I was 21, I looked like this:

At the MDGG, I looked like this (and still do):

I've been thru Weight Watchers so many times, I think I could be a leader!! I'm good at motivating others, but when it comes to applying the info to myself,,,, forget it!!

I know the tricks, the healthy way to eat, and all of that stuff. Why then, do I not just do it??? Sometimes, I think I have this "secret death wish"!!

Perhaps if I make myself accountable to my dis-board family (whom I care deeply about), this could just work for me.

Sorry for the long post. I've been meaning to get on board with this for a long time, but finally got up the nerve to do some "true confessions".

We can hold you accountable and give support, but the bottom line is that you need to find motivation deep inside yourself. Ultimately that is what will keep you on track. For me it was not wanting to embarass my kids by being the "fat" Mom at sporting events etc. I don't even think that my kids would think that way, but in my head they would and that was motivation enough for me. It is different for each of us and until you find that inner strength it is a futile battle. Good luck, we are here for support when your ready to begin.

Welcome Deb!!! I would offer you help but right now i am in dire need of help myself. The way you run down otters you should drop a few pounds in no time at all.:thumbsup2

who's the gal in the top pic, hubba hubba

I keep wondering where she went??? I know she's somewhere deep inside...buried under layer upon layer of FAT!!!

I know I'll never see HER again... but... I could look a whole lot better for my age!! (and for the sake of my health).

I'm a freakin' walking heart attack just waiting to happen!!

Well, Deb, babygirl......NONE OF US ARE 21 ANYMORE!!!!!!!
What do ya mean sedentary? Youre more active than most teenagers!!! I couldnt tell you the last time i saw my 18yr old on a bicycle...but I could tell you the last time I saw YOU on a bike!!! And your not a drinker(at least not until the MDGG), ya dont smoke, ya work 2 jobs, and you're one of the most FUN people Ive met in many years!!!! I dont see a whole lot that you need to change....sure, if a couple of pounds would make YOU feel better about YOU...then you should do what you KNOW will make YOU feel better. I only HOPE Im in as good of shape as you in 10 years. You're 54...you're riding a bike around FtWilderness carrying a stuffed otter after working 2 jobs all week...THATS FREAKIN HEALTHY(maybe not mentally, but PHYSICALLY for sure!!!) It must run in ya'lls blood...Al's what...109?;) He tent camps at the top of mountains, and carries liquor with him... and has had knee replacements!!!! Ya'll are like machines, indestructible and completely lovable as is!!!!!!!

ya dont smoke

Well.... yeah, I do. Just not in front of the DH. I'm kinda like Nancy Reagan... a closet smoker!! I don't know why I even bother??? Another secret death wish, perhaps???

Rog...you have this inane ability to find the good in everyone!!!:lovestruc  :lovestruc

Wow, I didn't know this existed! :yay:

I didn't have time to read through the 44 pages, but I figured I would introduce myself and list my goals and whatnot

I am 22, go to UF for grad school (go Gators ::yes:: ) and I am applying to Ph.D. programs currently (cross your fingers for me)

I went to the weight doctor (in CLearwater, FL: Dr. Lara) and was put on a strict plan!

They want me to loose 40 pounds but I want to loose 60, so we will see. I started yesterday so I have a long ways to go. We have a Fort trip coming up in August so I would be trilled to loose 15-20 by then.

I ride my bike to school, and plan on doing cardio at least 4 times a week.

As far as my diet goes, at first it is very strict, lean protein only and then I go into phase 2 where I can add more things. I am also on a weekly shot and some prescription diet meds.

So good luck everyone and I can't wait to hear about everyones progress :)

Here's my stats:

5'4
166 pounds
Doctor goal 120
My goal 100

Non smoker/drinker
I eat only organic products
Maybe I will post pictures later, we will see

Question: Has anyone done any of the Disney Marathons or 5K's? That's my goal, to do the Princess 5K next year :)

I am a HORRIBLE runner so it is a difficult goal to acheive, and my family thinks I am crazy because they know I very well can't run, I'll show them! ::yes::

We were down at WDW in January to watch my DD run the marathon. She did a 5K for a warm up two days before the marathon. We went to see here run one (along with her husband) in Burlington, VT in May.

She had never run a marathon before the Disney one in January and trained for about 6 months prior to get in shape. If you really set your mind to it, you can do it! Good luck.

don't worry about it, you look good to me. You have a good sense of humor, which is what makes one live long anyway, look at George Burns and Uncle Miltie..
