Official Dancing With the Stars: Spring 2016

A bit of yelling at the screen with Antonio. As in "if you want to be part of a team, have some RESPECT for your partner"!

 How about having enough respect to show up to rehearsals on time instead of strolling in an HOUR late? :sad2: That smacks of a man who has it easy and has had things handed to him, that he can treat other people like that. He wasn't really into this competition before. Hearing his own partner say she thinks another player can win really woke him up.

Forgot about Ginger's little tearful confessional. When she signed up for this, she had a 3 month old baby and a full time job on the other coast. She's just now realizing it?

I knew that would bite her in the butt as the toll of it all would finally catch up to her. :sad2:

I'm wondering if all the Kelly Ripa/Michael Straihan/GMA drama isn't going to have an effect on Ginger now staying around even LONGER than she should because ABC needs people cheering and happy for someone on GMA :cheer2: and making them all look good. Like, will Ginger now make it into the Final Four, due to the obviously inflated judges votes? :scratchin

Wasn't sure if anyone saw this or would care but nyle posted this on Facebook:

"How did you think of The DEAF Mask do!?

In my package, I mentioned Val, the professional dancer, because I look up to him and his talent. It is similar to playing a sport as a newbie along with the beginners, you would prefer to study Professionals and imagine as if they are 'to beat'... only to improve and push yourself to being the best.

This is why I study Val, the professional dancer.

I can't lie... #DWTS Stars are talented!! It is just how I strategize towards the Mirror Ball and I think it is not wrong. :)

Love you all.

Anyway, I'm sure Nyle and Val are very good friends and it was a bit of a joke, but you don't get nuance through an interpreter.

I had a feeling there was something lost while being interpreted. It's kind of like playing the game, Telephone, with 2 tin cans. It seems to be a shortcoming with deaf interpreters - not interpreting with a lot of emotions in their voices. (Marlee Matlin's interpreter seems to be an exception. But, he's been with her for years, so he knows her personality more and infuses his translations with more expression.) For the most part, they often sound like the iPhone's "Siri" talking, with a lack of expression.

It could also be that American Sign Language really does not sign each word out as we hearing people speak the sentences. They use symbols, instead of signing each word, and sometimes the order of what they sign is in a different order than how we hearing people say a sentence. (It's kind of like in French, the verb is sometimes before the noun, or something like that. :headache: ) That could also account for why interpreters sound like Siri, as they have to wait for the rest of the signs to make sense of it all so they speak each word rather neutrally, and why the real interpretation could be off. (I tried to learn American Sign Language decades ago, and that part really threw me off, so I didn't continue. Signed English is when someone signs out exactly how hearing people speak, but it's not as popular in the deaf community in the U.S., so there was little point, for me, in learning it.)

I do like Nyle. I don't think for a minute that he was being serious about the Val comment. I think it was his attempt at humor and it got lost in translation.

Tuning in in time for Nyle & Peta.

I find it really interesting how TWICE the producers are telling Bruno what number he voted. :rolleyes1

BOTH times, the screw up was over NYLE'S votes. :sad2:

I don't believe it. I smell a rat. And I'm not talking Bruno.

I liked Jodi's dance but not Kim's, it seemed heavy to me.

And what is it with the 10's? This has never happened before as far as I can remember.

I wonder if after ginger dances Bruno will hold up a 9 and the producers will insist it's a 10. :p
