'Official Dancing With the Stars' Celebrity and Professional Pairs Revealed!

Most reality shows have scripted parts. Doubt DWTS is any different. I think the jewelry is just for show.

I was sad to see Pam go, but I would have been MAD if she was in the final 3 so I'm OK with it.

As long as it comes down to Evan and Nicole, I really don't care about the order the rest of them go home.

I would have been happy with either Pam, Niecy or Chad to go. I was pleasantly surprised with Pam's performances but she is not top 3 matierial. Neither are the other two. But you know, they called Shannon's vote out the surprise of the season but I don't think it was. For Evan, Nicole or Erin to be sent home before the final 3, that would be the season's surprise.

I am hoping for the shock vote of the season!! So not a fan of Evan or his partner. You can see how the judges make it all more scripted. So we shall see!?

By the way this is my first real season of watching every week. Do they always put people in the show that have dancing/skating experience? or do you actually get to see most of the stars with little experience progress in dancing.

I tuned in late, why wasn't Pam dancing in the team repeat tonight?

Also, why is Erin in the bottom two? I like her!

Anyone know why Pam didn't do the Team Gaga repeat? I was watching Loser and missed that part  But, Chelsie did a great job!

Agreed. Although I think Erin should be in the final 3.

They have a broad definition of "novice" when it comes to dance experience... much like their broad definition of "star" ;)

Every season I've watched there has been a fairly wide range when it comes to starting dance ability.
Yes, sometimes folks with little to no dance experience do stick around long enough that we get to see real growth and progress (Kelly Osbourne)
Sometimes folks with a strong dance background get voted off early (Sabrina Bryan)
Sometimes folks with a strong dance background win it all (Donny Osmond)

Although the voting is supposed to be about the dancing; a whole lot of other things play into it.

BTW,
I understand that Melissa Rycroft and Vanessa Minnillo were both in the running with Brooke Burke for the host position. Personally I say bring on Melissa or Vanessa already! I thought Brooke was great on the show as a dancer, not liking her as a host at all.

Agreed. Although I think Erin should be in the final 3.
I don't like Erin and I don't like the way she dances. I think she is still very awkward. She still looks like all elbows, knees and surgically enhanced breasts to me.

I don't like Chad because he's a hound dog. His dancing is coming along now that he lets Cheryl "take the lead" so to say but that doesn't make up for the fact I don't like him.

I like Niecy personally but she's the weakest dancer left.

So ... I guess I don't care who is #3 as long as they don't win :rotfl:.

:thumbsup2
I agree, but that could still happen because of the at home voters.

I didn't write this. Why was this post attributed to me?

Wow, posters could get in a lot of trouble here at the DIS, :scratchin if there's a glitch in the program and the wrong people are quoted as saying things they didn't say. ;) :rotfl:

Glad to find someone else thinks Erin is awkward. The way the judges rave over her, you'd think she was some ballerina.

I think Niecy should have gone before Pamela. She's really relying on her personality and 'tude. But, she has a bigger fan being a regular yakker on The Insider, so she got to stay.

I agree that Nicey should have gone home before Pam.

I didn't like Pam to start with but she began to grow on me and I sincerely liked her at the end. I didn't really understand why Pam was getting such low scores as her dancing and performances always seemed pretty good to me. Plus, I really liked how she was starting to move away from her "sex kitten" act and was acting like a real person ... not just the sum of her bra-size. It annoyed the heck out of me that the men on the show kept on harping on it all the way to the end. Grow up! Even Bruno who isn't even interested in what she has to offer joined in. Toward the end Pam started to look uncomfortable at their cracks. It's one thing to play the sex kitten and have someone react to that "character" and it's quite another thing to start to let your real self out there and STILL have people comment ONLY on your "assets" :rolleyes1.

Oops, I must have accidentally multi quoted and then ended up with a mix-up when I deleted. My computer has been really quirky today, and especially on the Dis.

niecy is definitely the weakest dancer left. however, she's got personality for days, and is much more likeable than chad, who really does, as a pp said, come off as a hound dog, lol, and i'm sure that puts some of the female voters off. nicole really is the strongest dancer, and will likely win. IMHO, celebrities with dancing backgrounds shouldn't be on the show, but that's just how i see it.

I totally agree with all of this. :thumbsup2 Pam was growing, showing range. Becoming vulnerable as she shed her sex kitten personae. Even her change to less makeup was a growth.
After Baywatch, she became "Pamela Anderson," some caricature of herself. But, I remember seeing very young pictures of her before she added on all the eye makeup, the hair, the "girls." She was very sweet & vulnerable.

The judges should have applauded her for shedding her caricature image, instead of constantly going on about her "girls." It would have been nice to have seen her there for one more week. Niecy's not going to change.

i don't think celebrities with dancing backgrounds should be allowed.

Kristi Yamaguchi is the only other skater they've had on the show - she won season 6. Figure skating is not dancing, unless you're talking about ice dancing, which neither Kristi nor Evan do. True, they both perform to music (and of course it's choreographed), but that doesn't make it ballroom dancing. Now if they were to have Tanith Belbin or Ben Agosto on (5 time US Ice Dance Champions), that would be different because what they do on the ice is ballroom dancing.

Although the voting is supposed to be about the dancing; a whole lot of other things play into it.

Again, while Donny certainly had an extensive background with learning choreography, that doesn't mean he has a background in ballroom dancing

I do however, agree with your comment about the voting. In season 8, Gilles Marini was by far the best dancer, and definitely would've won if it was decided by scores alone, but for some reason more people voted for Shawn Johnson. And it also explains why Kate Gosselin lasted as long as she did.

He's quite use to the training and choreography (and the aches and pains that comes with the moves) even though his skating isn't ballroom dancing, so that is an advantage. I like him a lot, and while he may have an advantage in the training area, he may not have the at home votes that someone else would have. They all have different advantages.
I didn't realize when he took his fall on his head, he must have been in our area. They showed the quick clinic and local doc he went to in my area. They must travel all over to get in some practice.
