OFFICIAL D23 Membership available for all Disney fans--Will you join too? UPDATE

I have not received mine yet! Rats. I moved recently and I just got my change of address into D23. I would think if they sent the magazine out to my old address it would be forwarded to me...but it hasn't showed up yet. I think I will have to contact them to try and get them to send me my copy.

So...WHAT is the SURPRISE this time??????

Eric

How did you change your address with them? We also just moved and also our email address has changed.

Please add me to the d23 list.

I love the magazines and hope there are some events that I can attend. ;)

It was hard to do I think. I went on the D23 web site and found a "Contact Us" link. I e-mailed them about my address change and they told me to send an e-mail to the guest services at the Disney Shopping web site (where you buy your D23 membership). So, I e-mailed them that I would be needing to change my e-mail address and they sent back an e-mail that said when I had my new address to send them another e-mail and to be sure to include my D23 membership number.

So, I got my new address and sent the e-mail. Then I got back an automated reply from Disney Shopping telling me they were sorry I was having trouble entering my zip code. :confused3 I tried that several times with no luck. I called the phone number on the back of the D23 membership card which is basically the Disney Store. They knew what D23 was but said that my new info had to go through some other department and they would have to call me back. I waited a few days to a week...and no one ever called me.

By then I had actually completed my move. Something told me to go onto the Disney Shopping web site and update my info there. I did that and then sent a nasty gram to guest services that must have got their attention since I got a personal response this time that said that all my info had been updated and my e-mail had been updated as well. So, I assume they got the info from when I updated my profile on the web site.

So, I would recommend updating your profile on the Disney Shopping web site and then sending an e-mail to their guest services and ask them (kindly) to confirm that you have had an address change for you D23 membership. Be sure in to include your membership number.

The bummer is that during this whole process the winter issue of D23 came out and I have yet to receive it. I am going to have to e-mail or call them again to see if they can send me my copy.

Hope this has helped.

Eric

Just joined the ranks of D23 charter members. Did some research and was able to secure the D23 Charter Year Jiminy Cricket pin under the disneyshopping price (after taxes and shipping were calculated). I accomplished exactly what I wanted; I just hope that membership benefits improve beyond access to exclusive merchandise and being mailed four magazines in 2010. Not everyone resides near an ocean and/or has money to burn.

My communication from D23 at Disney is spotty. Did not know about the Dec event @ WDW until it was over.

I'm hoping that before I renew membership that it improves. I would also like to see a list of what D23 events are planned for 2010 before I renew.

Anyone else agree they'd like a 2010 list?

I got a D23 membership for my birthday 11/30:goodvibes
I love the magazine!
I do have to agree with the above posters, knowing when the events are going to be, well enough in advance would be a lot better.

I have been a member since day one. I see on the Disney Store site that renewal packages are up. Does this mean my membership is expires and I need to renew?

Well, just last week I finally got my winter copy of the "D Twenty Three" magazine. I moved twice between October and December and I had to send several e-mail messages to get my address right and get a replacement copy sent out. I have not had a chance to read the magazine yet with the holidays and everything. But it looks great again and I liked the replica Christmas card from Walt Disney himself. Very cool.

I also saw that they have the renewal packages up on the web site. They now have two levels of membership...Gold and Silver. Gold is the same price as last year ($75 plus tax) and includes everything from last year with a new enrollment gift. It's a calendar with rare images from the Disney archives. Silver is the same as Gold but you don't get the magazine. So, Silver only costs like $35 plus tax.

I anticpate renewing in June when my current membership expires. I really like the magazine so I will wind up renewing as a Gold member. The membership just wouldn't be the same without the magazine in my opinion.

I hope they keep including the little surprises with the new issues of the magazine.

Eric

Bumping this thread up to the top since I see there were some questions in another thread about D23 and what you get for your membership. This thread has been running since before D23 officially opened for business, so you can learn alot (pros and cons) about the club and membership.

I tried to purchase the Mickey Mouse charter year pin ("Made for you and me...") but I see it is already sold out. It's pictured in the D23 Boutique, but there is no longer an entry for it under D23 pins and collectables.

Do you think they will bring back that pin? It's the one I was waiting to buy!

I just checked the DisneyStore.com site and it looks like 5 of the pins are missing from the collection....

Hope you get the chance to complete your collection!

Thanks Chkultr,

I know they ran out of the Tinker Bell Charter Year pin and then brought it back and sold it for quite a while. So hopefully the Mickey band leader pin will come back soon.

I started this thread on Day 1 of D23, March 10, 2009 (precious trivia answer someday? :thumbsup2), so Day 1 members like us should have until March 10th to renew that 1-year subscription... I think D23 posted the Gold/Silver packages early in case anyone wants to renew/gift it earlier than their actual membership month.

I anticipate renewing in June when my current membership expires. I really like the magazine so I will wind up renewing as a Gold member. The membership just wouldn't be the same without the magazine in my opinion.

I hope they keep including the little surprises with the new issues of the magazine.

The magazine is excellent and artistic, and I feel it is like a collectible and ultra-sophisticated version of Disney Adventures magazine... how informative it was in the early-to-mid 90's! I would like D23 to add surprises with our new magazine issues too. It makes the subscription feel more exclusive and magical... We are always wondering what will be in our next issue (literally)!

I have not done it yet, but I plan to renew my D23 membership at the Gold level for 2010. I feel the benefits and our magazines are worthwhile. I enjoyed the D23 Expo in Anaheim, and I felt like had enough time to book my trip to Anaheim from Chicago and plan to attend (unlike other D23 events, sorry!).

I look forward to attending the D23 Expo in the near future... D24 anyone? :cool1:

I would LOVE to see a 2010 list, especially if Disney has plans for our next D23 Expo. Attending that Expo was one of my highlights of 2009, and I'm still talking about the things I experienced there, especially when wearing my Disney costumes (Snow White, Jasmine, Village Belle, etc.) around. Most of us spent $$$ there, especially on souvenirs. The D23 members of all ages I met in-person at the Expo were passionate Disney fans like me... It was thrilling!

Sheer magic. D23 members KNOW why I love Disney, and that's why I am and will stay a member of this club.

Just notify them that you already moved from another place so that they will send you updtes about d23 in your recent address,..ok?...:rotfl:

I received D23 as a Christmas gift (it was on my list!!). I am absolutely thrilled to be a Charter Member!

I received my membership card about a week ago. Today I received my certificate (which I can't wait to frame!) and my first magazine (the winter issue - I already ordered the back issues from disneyshopping.com, along with a few other D23 items!). There was also the replica Christmas card.

I read somewhere on this thread that the replica christmas card came with the magazine? I was curious if it came with every Winter issue of the magazine or was this the free gift that was also supposed to come with the membership?

If not, what is the free gift? I noticed now on the website, it shows the free gift which is a really amazing calendar. I am hoping to get one of those! =)

Thanks for your help!

Thanks Josh! This was very helpful and I love the poster!

Of course, I'm still wondering how I can get that calendar? =) I wonder if I have to wait until the end of the year when it's time to renew?

Thanks again,
Jes

I have been a member of D23 since last year. I would like to renew my membership. Will they send a renewal letter or will I have to renew online on my own? Thanks in advance for any info.

Man, I can't go to any of those, but I'm happy D23 is doing plenty of stuff at both coasts.
