OFFICIAL CARS LAND, BUENA VISTA STREET, ETC., SUPER THREAD! (Updated Daily+)

You can definitely ride RSR first as Cold has described above. We've done that a couple of times. But just be sure you're there a minimum of 30 minutes early.

Having said that, when we were there a few weeks ago, we opted to do TSMM first and pull RSR FPs later. The reason is that TSMM doesn't have FPs, so if you ride RSR first, you risk looking at an hour wait on TSMM. In fact, you can ride several rides first thing in the AM before pulling RSR FPs. When we were there, we pulled FPs for 7:45-8:45 return at 11:30. And the wait in the FP line was maybe 5 minutes. In any case, if you're at the RSR FP distribution within 2 hours of park opening, you should be fine.

My experience in using Touring Plans was that the return times were overly optimistic. We often arrived to see longer lines than our plan indicated. It's good to use as a guide, but be prepared that you may have to skip something to stay on track. Although if you're in the parks September 5-8 you'll probably be fine as it shouldn't be too busy.

My advice would be to use Ask Otto for wait times. 714-520-7090. It's run by Disney and gives far more accurate wait times than any of the apps IMO. Although no touring plans. When we were a few weeks ago, my Lines app said incorrectly that all RSR FPs were gone at 11, when in fact they didn't run out until at least noon.

If you're trying to go to RSR first thing, don't use the GCH entrance. If you're trying to do TSMM first, I think the GCH entrance is fine.

Finally, be aware that both TSMM and RSR are known for being down first thing in the AM. So stay flexible.

Have fun!!

Hello,

My family and I are going to DL/DCA for the 1st time in Sept. and we wanted some insider advice from DL vets if possible, please.

I signed up with touringplans.com to create personalized touring plans for both parks for a 4-day park hopper. We will be going Friday, Saturday, Monday, and Tues. for the 1st week of Sept. (we are taking a break on Sunday for football at ESPN Zone =P).

Using touring plans, I can't seem to find a scenario where I can get RSR FP under 30 min or ride RSR under 30 min. according to touring plans. So, can someone verify that it is impossible to wait under 30 min. for this attraction? I understand its the newest attraction and I expected that but I'm just doing whatever I can to minimize wait times for my children. My wife and I are patient people, but I can't say the same for my children who are only 4 and 14 months.

People say your best bet is to to head straight for the RSR FP during EMH and wait in line for a FP or head straight to RSR during EMH to ride it early.

We are staying at the DLH so.. we were gonna through the GCH to DCA during EMH but I assume its crazy no matter what during EMH for Cars Land.

Since you have a 14 month old, you'll be doing rider swap (unless you have an extremely tall baby!) So one adult can do single rider and ask for a rider swap pass which the other parent can use with the 4 year old.

It's been said that the GC entrance to DCA is so busy that it's actually faster to go through the main gate to DCA first thing in the morning. Can anyone confirm that?

When we were there a couple of weeks ago, guests going to TSMM from the GCH entrance made it to rope drop (near GRR) before we did when we entered from the main gate. And we were at the gate early. There was a really long line at the GCH, but they must have pre-cleared bag check or something because they were coming through the gate there en masse.

The opposite was true for hotel guests going to RSR. There was already a decent-sized crowd forming at that rope when the hotel guests were joining them.

I'd enter from the GCH for TSMM and from the main entry for RSR.

Hi, I will be going the last week of March and expect the parks to be busy. There will be 6 of us traveling together, ranging in age from 4 to 69, so we won't be the fastest walkers at rope drop. On our second day when we have EMH for DCA, I'd like to go straight to RSR, and then park hop over to Minnie & Friends breakfast. First thing in the morning on a busy day, what time should I expect to be done with RSR? And how long will it take us to cross the esplanade and get to Plaza Inn?

Thanks for any advice!

If you can't be at rope drop and pretty fast using wide right you may want to just wait it out and get fast passes the line can be be really long. It's hard to know how long it will take to park hop because usually they open the other park an hour later so you hit rush hour trying to enter disneyland. Also fast passes last longer these days then when cars land first opened.

In my book it says there is a separate line at the rsr fp machines for people with emh so that you aren't waiting in line behind all the non emh guests to get your fp when the machines go up. Is that still true?
