Official ANTM Cycle 10, New York thread, no spoilers please (recap of 4/16 show Pg.9)

Normal, a/k/a "full figured."

:rotfl: ;) .

But really, I'm curious. I'm confused. I just heard she's a size ten. Is that true? I'm sure full figured modelling starts at least a size 12/14.

On a show here one plus sized model couldn't lose any more weight. Ie. They would drop her if she got below 12.

I find it so terribly sad that a girl that is Whitney's size is labeled "full figured". She is healthy and gorgeous and much closer to the "norm". I was rooting for her all along and am so glad she won!

"Full figured" is the word they used because she really isn't large enough to be an official "plus." I bet if you walked past her in the mall, she wouldn't register as an ounce overweight. But she DOES have a figure and isn't a size zero, which Is A Good Thing.

I've heard that, too. She may have a hard time finding her niche...I wonder if she would be willing to gain a few pounds to work more?

Interesting. Hmmm.

I really liked watching her. Sizes come across very different on different frames. I mean really there are models who are meant to be skinny. Heidi Klum for example. Her weight seems to perfectly fit her bones. But I hate to see models that are fighting their natural size. Oh, it's usually in the knees. You can see that a skinny model is not at their natural size. Like the bones and weight are fighting.

I'm forty and I really exhaled when she was talking about growing up big. How you feel out of place. It's funny how emotions are still there. It's one thing to be overweight and know that you can be smaller. But it sucks to grow up and know that you can't shrink what is bones. I was like that. I'm now a 14-16, depends on plus and regular sizes. I want to be a tad smaller. But not much. I now appreciate my frame. Finally.

Okay, whoops this is an ANTM thread. Not my therapy session!!!!:lmao: :rotfl: ;)

Whitney wowed me with her confidence. At that age. Wow. It's so nice to see whether one is bigger or not.

I totally agree. There are people who are made to be tiny and people who are made to be big. (In other cultures, the large ones would be deemed superior, I'm sure.) You are so right that you can tell by looking at someone whether they are a formerly small person who overate, or a large person who was meant to be large.

I wish my neighbor would have watched the show. She is a beautiful large tall woman. She's not thin but she's lovely. But from the comments she's made, I can tell that she has issues with that. I think that if she lost a lot of weight she'd look odd; I think she weighs what she should for her body structure. Her daughter has the same body type and I so hope her mom can tell her she's beautiful rather than nag her to lose weight.

Oh, I completely understand why she is labeled full-figured. I just find it sad.

I think they said she was an 8/10....I'm looking forward to see how America reacts to the "juicy"(lol..) woman winning. I hope this helps show young girls that beauty comes in all sizes.
