I just realized what else was odd about David A.'s song choice.
Weren't they supposed to pick songs from their birth years? So, wasn't David supposed to pick a song from 1990? "You're The Voice" came out in 1986.
I don't expect the judges or the producers to know the year of every single song, but I do expect David and his camp to at least use the honor system. There's no way David (or his dad) would have known exactly what year the song was released; they would have had to check and discover that it was released in 1986.
At least Simon is beginning to criticize David's performance. For a while there it seemed like he could do no wrong (especially when he forgot the lyrics and there was no comment made.)
I was looking on wikipedia. It says the song and the australian release of the album were in 1986. Maybe it was released in the U.S. in 1990?

Oh...and I've been listening to DC on repeat today. Haha.
