Yo, you guys stop pickin' on OUR SONG!!!!

I loooove that song!!! :rotfl2:

BF and I are officially OUT of the cool league in Atlanta forEVER.....
I LOVE that song, too! I can't believe I don't already have it on my iPod!!!:scared1: Looks like I'll be visiting iTunes after work today. :thumbsup2

Our song for DH and me is just as cheezie... Whip appeal.

My son and I were watching and we both were very teary. Then we noticed all the idols were crying too. How could you not?

Then Ryan is trying to comfort Brooke, (thinking she was crying to be in the bottom 3) and she told him it was really about the videos and Dolly's song and the fact that she is on the show at all.

I was a mess! But, what a beautiful ending to that sweet girl's story.
OK, gotta' stop thinking about it before I start crying at work.

I got married at 23. People said we were young, but here we are 16 years later, still going strong. I guess I just gave away that I'm an old fart;)

I've got you all beat. I'll be hitting 23 years of marriage this June and I turn :gasp: 50 the week before! :scared1: :scared1:

is it me or does it seem like after 21 everything just went downhill?? or did that happen to just me?

Must be just you! :lmao: While I feel older and can't do the same things I did at 21 because it takes me 2 days to recover now, I don't feel old. I used to think of 50 as being ancient, but I think I'm doing pretty darn good for my age. (now if I could just drop all the weight I need to I'd be doing even better)

Jack Wagner rockin' a quasi-mullet!

As scary as it sounds, this song often gets put into heavy rotation on my iPod. How can you not want to sing along with that dreck!?!?

"No stars are out tonight/
But we're shining our own light/
And it's never felt so right"

I mean, come on!

Man, I had thought he was the cutest thing back in his General Hospital days. I had actually forgotten about that song until you guys mentioned it here.

Who's the man...who is the man

by a longshot...bunch of light weights....:rotfl2:

Ok, I'm #10. Looks like I need to stay up late and post some OT stuff with you guys! ;)

I missed all the IGB stuff. I left the room for a little bit so I missed all the sad stuff.

So now there are 2 Idol threads, one for just Idol talk because it seems as though we are too OT here. :confused3 :confused3

Oh well.

I'll stick with this thread thank you very much. :cool1:

And my post count is high enough so I'm not posting here just to boost it. I post here cause I like the company :dance3:

I was crying too. It's hard not to, especially since I have 2 little girls of my own and the thought of them living out on the streets like that just about killed me. It's heartbreaking to see that children have to live like that.

As for the rest of the show, well, I have to say I am almost embarrased for the idols watching them do those group numbers. I would fast forward through them, but I take any chance I can get to see DC.

I was a little surprised that Brooke was in the bottom 3. I thought it might be Jason. I knew Ramiele and KLC would be there, and I am getting so sick of KLC and her bottom 3 "jokes". The paper with "kristy's seat" was just so stupid and her nasty comment about not listening to Simon was so uncalled for. She really needs to go. I could have suffered through another week of Ramiele, not sure I can stand KLC again. Rami did need to go though. She really is not mature enough to handle this kind of competition.

I was so nervous when DC was called out b/c there were already 3 safe on the couch and they hadn't put anyone in the bottom 3 yet. I was thinking there is no way he is in the bottom 3. Glad I was right.

Ok, I am off to clean the house. Hopefully I will get to read the rest of this thread later. Bye all :wave2:

most of the time it doesn't bother me. but every once in a while i'm like "man i wish i could just have a LITTLE bit of color"

LOL! Do you know how hard it was to be a pasty white goth when you have naturally tan skin? I avoided the sun like a plague in high school and it paid off. My friends who worshipped the sun are out getting botox and skin peels at 36.

Looks like I went to be too early. I missed all the posting fun and probably was overtaken by Nancy in the top ten. :lmao:

I would say I was surprised (and extremely disappointed) to see Brooke in the bottom 3, HOWEVER.....does it seem to anyone else that the third person in the bottom 3 is planted there? The person who is sent back to the couch right away is always the person you are shocked to see in the bottom 3. Then they tend to be "safe" (note the quotes) every week after that.

And does anyone else just want Kristy put out of her misery? I feel sorry for her. She has to keep plugging away, knowing that she'll just have to sit in the seats of shame week after week.

It's like the Sanjaya factor last year!

Robin, here's something interesting for you from another post. (check out #37)

Michael Johns Sighting

My local station is talking about AI and someone said even though Michael Johns has a great voice, she would sit there and just watch him on mute if she had to.:lmao:

and he was WASTED???? :rotfl2:

How the HECK did I live 20 years in or near Buckhead and never seen this guy???? I just hang out in the WRONG crowd!!

I love his voice, he could look like the bottom of my foot and I'd love him. His looks are just an extra. I fell for him during his audition singing Otis Redding's "I've Been Loving You Too Long"....:scared1: ... I was like "that man has SOUL!!!... and my son's name????

I was MEANT to be his number one FAN!!! :thumbsup2

I like Brooke more than I did when the show started, but she missed the mark on 'Jolene'.

These AI singers...sometimes they pay more attention to the notes and not as much to the words. David A. does it all the time, so did Ramiele - they both just don't *get* some of these songs. The really guilty party this season was that Ken Doll guy from Branson :scared:, who would mug into the camera all the way through some really *sad* songs.
Jolene is a spirited lament, but it's not a "walk all over me, I'm such a wimp, I'm not fighting for my man, I'm just walking away" type of song. The singer is begging Jolene to please don't take *my* man, but she's feisty about it, there's a strong back-beat to that song.
A performer should really think about what precipitated the song and what comes after the song. I think this woman begs Jolene to go away and...then what?
Jolene says sure or Jolene says no.
If Jolene says NO, what happens next? Maybe the singer has a smackdown with Jolene, or something. She doesn't just walk away, is my point. She still has some fight left in her. Maybe she goes home and torches her man's prized car or something crazy. I think the singer has been pushed to the brink, but she's not ready to give up *yet*.
Brooke was too laid-back about the whole thing. From her demeanor and performance, she might have well have been singing "A Groovy Kind of Love" and had some incense burning.

agnes!

I have to disagree with you saying David A pays too much attention to the notes and not the words. Listening to his phrasing, he sings the songs just like he would have written them. Many of the other singers break their phrasing up in strange places that shows they are paying absolutely no attention to what the song is saying. I think out of all of the contestants on the show, David A probably has the best interpretation and presentation of the meaning of his songs. He lacks in other areas but not this one.

Well, I'll *try* to pay more (& better) attention to him next week. Maybe I'm picking on him because in general he just kind of puts me off. Mostly it's his habits while performing - the excessive breathiness, the lip-licking on every breath, the goofy grin...about this, yeah, I'm shallow.

I think David A. pays attention to the notes, but he's singing some very mature songs. As a 17 year old boy, I don't think he really gets the meaning of the songs. And honestly, he shouldn't. He's 17. I just don't buy deep meaningful songs from kids who haven't lived life yet.

I'm sticking with this thread, I have been here two years and I love chatting with everyone during Idol.

::yes:: that's a contingency in the contract ladies. You're allowed FIVE guys...if you need to add a guy in you have to agree to take one out.

So think fast...who are your top 5 guys?

Mine:
Tim McGraw
Kevin James
Chris Daughtry
Abraham Benrubi
David Cook

I had to give up James Tupper for David.

I had to laugh about the list b/c my husband knows that he absolutely cannot divorce me if Jon Bon Jovi comes a knockin at my door. I have now added David Cook to that list. I guess I could think up 3 more if I had to, but those 2 are pretty much it for me, and to be fair, hubby can have Kate Beckinsale if he ever gets that lucky :rotfl:
