:maleficenWhere can I buy the tickets? When should I buy tickets?
Tickets can be ordered by calling 407-W-DISNEY or purchase online, https://disneyworld.disney.go.com/tickets/events/. Once you purchase tickets, they will be linked to your My Disney Experience account (MDE).

Definitely in advance of the party, especially if you plan to attend on the first night, Halloween night or if there is a specific day you prefer to go. 13 parties sold out last year. There were not many sold out parties in 2016, 2017 or 2018. More parties sold out in advance in 2015 than ever before. Of the 26 parties in 2014, 11 sold out in advance (guest list thread on the Disboards). The first party to sell out in 2016 was Halloween night (October 31) and that party sold out on September 16.

:maleficenWhat time does MNSSHP start? What time can I enter the park?
MNSSHP officially starts at 7pm, with park closing at 6pm for day guests. Guests may enter Magic Kingdom using their party tickets starting at 4pm. This practice is not officially advertised by Disney, but it has been exercised for many years and Cast Members will readily confirm this information. None of the party-specific M&Gs or trick-or-treating will begin until 7pm, with a few M&G exceptions.

Back for 2019 — Early Entry for DVC Members
Members and their guests can enter Magic Kingdom park 2 hours earlier than ever before—as early as 2:00 PM. Simply present your valid Disney Vacation Club Membership Card and your event ticket at the main entrance touch points to take advantage of this benefit. Valid for the Member and up to 7 guests with tickets to this event—a total of 8 people.

:maleficenDo I need a wristband? What if I want to stay without one?

  • Yes, a wristband is included in the cost of admission. All ticket holders for this event will be required to wear a wristband. You may pick-up your wristband and map of the party at designated locations in the MK.
  • Once the party begins at 7pm, Cast Members begin looking for those who do not have wristbands to exit the park.
  • MNSSHP Ticket Holders have purchased tickets with "their money" for the party; if you do not have a ticket/wristband make your way to exit the gates by 7pm.
  • As discussed on another thread, there are different color wristbands, so NO Double Dipping to attend another party.
  • Oh, my! I'm already in the park. Do I have to exit and re-enter for MNSSHP? No, there are checkpoints within the park to check-in and receive wristbands for MNSSHP!

:maleficenAre FP+ Reservations available during the party?
No, there are no FP+ reservations in the park after the 6 p.m., park closing time for day guests.

You can, however, make FP+ reservations using your party ticket for the 4-6:00pm time period (FP+ Selections should be booked between 3:30-6:00pm), before the party officially begins. Once you use your pre-selected FP+, you can make additional FP+ reservations, one at a time (based on availability and park hours). The good news is that most attraction lines will be short enough during the party that you won’t miss FP+ reservations much.

When Can I Make FP+ Reservations?
Staying at a Disney World Resort: 60D in Advance
Please note, if you only purchased MNSSHP tickets, your FP+ reservation is still based on resort check-in day.

Staying at a Non-Disney Resort: 30D in Advance

:maleficenWhat are the times for Mickey's Boo-to-You Halloween Parade?
Boo-To-You runs at 9:15pm and 11:15pm.

It has been discussed that the second parade is less crowded than the first. There are advantages and disadvantages to both depending on your party size/age and party plans. Not sure about crowd levels for either parade with the time change of the first parade (2017 & 2018).

FYI: The parade route begins in Frontierland, follows the waterway until it reaches Liberty Square, crosses the Liberty Square bridge, circles Central Plaza in front of Cinderella's Castle, then heads down Main Street, U.S.A., where it ends next to Harmony Barbershop.

2019 - Mickey's Boo To You Halloween parade was updated with new floats and characters representing each land of the Magic Kingdom.
The parade opens with favorite Disney friends, including Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse in all-new Halloween costumes, as they trick-or-treat down Main Street, U.S.A. Representing Liberty Square, the Haunted Mansion unit features Hitchhiking Ghosts and a new addition, the spectral Bride, who glides among the waltzing spirits. A new Tomorrowland unit brings Edna Mode from The Incredibles to “Mickey’s Boo to You Halloween Parade,” followed by Buzz Lightyear and Alien explorers discovering crystalline treasures on the surface of a planetary playset float. Wreck-It Ralph, Vanellope von Schweetz and the girls from Sugar Rush will make an appearance and Pirates join from Adventureland, Clarabelle Cow hosts a square dance during a Frontierland hoedown, and Disney Villains complete a Fantasyland-inspired grand finale.

:maleficenWhat time is Disney’s Not-So-Spooky Spectacular (Fireworks)?
Disney's Not-So-Spooky Spectacular is at 10:15pm.

2019: New Fireworks Spectacular for MNSSHP!
Jack Skellington from Tim Burton’s “The Nightmare Before Christmas” serves as the host of this all-new nighttime extravaganza, with state-of-the-art projection effects, lasers, lighting and dazzling fireworks filling the sky above Magic Kingdom Park. Jack has come to tell a not-so-scary story about how anything can happen on Halloween night. Jack’s ghost dog, Zero, then flies off carrying everyone along on a trick-or-treating adventure, where four friends – Mickey, Minnie, Donald and Goofy – find themselves drawn into a mysterious haunted house. Their journey takes them from one room of the house to another, encountering dancing skeletons, waltzing ghosts and a whole series of troublemaking Disney villains. “Disney’s Not-So-Spooky Spectacular” promises to be the perfect Halloween treat!

2018 & Prior: HalloWishes

:maleficenShould I attend?
Is MNSSHP worth it? IMO it is most definitely worth the price at least once. I thoroughly enjoyed MVMCP, so I expect to enjoy MNSSHP. We thoroughly enjoyed attending our 1st MNSSHP (2016), we attended 2 parties (10/30 & 10/31). It’s definitely worth it if your budget allows. There’s plenty of special entertainment, special decorations and lighting, and lots of unique character meet and greets. If you decide to attend MNSSHP, make sure to purchase your tickets in advance, and use any available discounts (i.e. DVC, AP, etc.). Tickets are generally more expensive on the day of the party, and several nights each year sell out completely.

:maleficenParty Crowds
MNSSHP is a special ticket event with a limited amount of tickets sold. It has been discussed that more tickets are being sold as of late. However, due to Party Entertainment, crowds tend to be more concentrated around the events, especially the parade and fireworks. Also, parties are typically busier the closer to Halloween and on Halloween night. If you can attend one in early to mid-September you will find it less crowded than one in late October. Day of the week tends to matter as well, with Monday through Thursday evenings being less busy than the weekend events.

:maleficenTransportation
The Walt Disney World Transportation, including the boat launches, bus and monorail stations, all continue to run during and after Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party.

:maleficenWeather
Please note that the party will go on regardless of weather, so even if it's pouring down raining, it will take place. Please note 2016 & 2017 did have weather closers (See 2016 & 2017 Official MNSSHP Threads).

Due to Florida weather, ensure that your costume/party attire is cool enough to wear in the heat and humidity and something that can easily be covered in a poncho.

Average high temperature: 84°F
Average low temperature: 66°F
Mean temperature: 75°F
Record high temperature: 95°F (1958)
Record low temperature: 38°F (2008)
Average Precipitation: 2.52 in.

MNSSHP Dining FAQ

This is subjective, and you will see conflicting opinions posted on various threads. Remember - you can enter the park at 4pm if you have purchased a MNSSHP ticket. If you want to you can make an ADR starting from 4pm and on. Most agree that you should eat either before, or during the 4-7pm time periods so you DO NOT waste time/miss the Halloween Festivities.

🎃 Can I purchase Memory Maker for MNSSHP ONLY?
Yes, Disney PhotoPass now offers Memory Maker (MM) One Day (Disney PhotoPass Website Updated on 1/16/19).

The Memory Maker Window begins at 6am EST on the day you use the 1D theme park admission with which MM is bundled at purchase or if MM was purchased separately, the date the photo selected on the MDE app, or of applicable, on MyDisneyPhotoPass.com when purchasing MM or when linking a previously purchased MM code to your Disney account and ends at 5:59am EST on the following day. (i.e. The 1D Memory Maker can be purchased in the app, after you have a photo loaded into your account, click on the photo, and you will get the option to purchase either the 30-day MM for $169, or the 1-day MM for $69).

PhotoPass photographers will take Magic Shots during the party where you will pose and when you see the photos afterward, you'll see something magically inserted into the photo.

    Closures and Reopening

Disney World Announces Temporary Closure Due to Coronavirus Outbreak (3/12/20)
    497750

While the Disney World parks will be closing, at this time, the hotels, retail, and dining complexes, as well as Disney Springs will remain open.

All resort transportation concluded on March 18, with just Disney’s Magical Express running today to shuttle the last resort guests to Orlando International Airport.

As of 5pm EST, all Walt Disney World Resort Hotels have Officially Closed Due to Coronavirus (COVID-19) Pandemic Concerns (3/20/20)

The Disney theme parks in the U.S. and Paris originally announced that they would close through March 31, but that date has since been pushed back to … indefinitely.

Here’s What You Need to Know About the Phased Reopening of Disney Springs at Walt Disney World Resort (5/16/20)

Wednesday, May 20, will be a great first step in the phased reopening of Walt Disney World Resort, as Disney Springs begins its initial reopening that morning. Next week, many of our third-party operating participants will open their doors to Disney Springs guests. On May 27, three Disney-owned and -operated stores and venues will reopen: World of Disney, D-Luxe Burger (mobile order) and the Marketplace Co-Op. You can visit DisneySprings.com/reopening for the most current information on which locations are open.

Gov. Ron DeSantis approves reopening Walt Disney World (5/29/20)

Disney Theme Parks will be implementing physical distancing, mask use for all employees and guests, a cashless environment, increased sanitation, plexiglass were distancing is difficult to maintain, and temperature checks of both employees and guests prior to entrance. Disney will also enforce an online reservations system to limit the amount of guests in the park.

Disney World SUSPENDS FastPass+ and Cancels Existing FastPass Reservations (5/28/20)

Disney World Cancels ALL Disney Dining Plans And Current Dining Reservations (5/29/20)

Following our earlier observation that dining reservations and the Disney Dining Plan were unable to be booked at this time, we now have some more details to share.
It looks like guests planning to visit after Disney World’s reopening will NOT be permitted to have a Disney Dining Plan initially, among other big changes!

According to Disney, “we have made the difficult decision to cancel all existing dining reservations and experience bookings, including Disney dining plans included in packages.” Additionally, Disney stated, “We will reopen dining and experience bookings with more limited numbers closer to when the parks reopen. We will also shift from a 180-day booking window to a 60-day booking window for dining and experience bookings going forward to allow Guests to make their plans closer to their visits.”
Note that the statement from Disney specifies impacted reservations will be from May 28th, 2020 all the way to September 26th, 2021. This is due to international bookings being made into 2021.

NOTE: This DOES NOT MEAN that Disney will not have dining reservations or Disney Dining Plans in 2021, as far as we know. It only means that they’re clearing out their current bookings so that they can release a new system to accommodate the lower capacity that the parks, restaurants, and hotels will be servicing.

Disney has also stated select third-party dining and experiences possibly may not be canceled at this time. So be sure to check your My Disney Experience when you can.

Guests who hold a resort reservation or a canceled dining reservation will be given priority rebooking once that is announced.

    MNSSHP Updates

Purchased Tickets for Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party Will Remain Valid Despite Recent Disney World Cancellations (5/29/20)

No new tickets are being sold for this year’s Halloween Party dates. That means guests who have already purchased tickets are good to go; your tickets are valid. However if you were waiting to purchase a ticket, Cast Members have confirmed that no new tickets are being sold at this time.

Now whether or not this means Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Parties will happen or not, there is no confirmation at this time. The 2020 separately-ticket parties are scheduled to begin August 13th and run on select nights through November 1st. That doesn’t leave Disney with a lot of time to get its stuff figured out since Magic Kingdom's reopening date is July 11th.

Disney has stated that everything is subject to change, so things might be altered at any time. It’s also worth noting that if Disney reopens with their proposed plan to halt fireworks, parades, and character meet-and-greets, it’s possible that many of the experiences people are eager to experience at the Halloween parties may be altered or missing entirely.

Cant wait for some info to get released! As unnecessary as it is, I will buy my tickets the day they go on sale, out of pure excitement). Last year for the Disneyland Halloween party, I got on the phone right at 8am (or whatever time it was) and spent almost an hour on the phone to be "first in line" to buy tickets. By lunch time that same day, there was NO hold time (while people that called 30 minutes after me in the morning waited for 2 hours). Thanks for creating the thread Monique (I did the DL party thread last year and these things are lots of work).

Can't wait to take my little one down for a quick trip in August just to go to the Halloween Party. Hoping to meet Lotso so praying he is still a special character for M&G during parties.

I’m following. We will be there 9 nights in October. As of right now I dunno if we will do a Halloween party. Reviews from the late October parties last year make me worry about it’s worth. We were thinking our money may be better spent on an early morning magic. Just dunno yet.

I am also following. I would be a first timer. Our trip is end of August, beginning of September. From what I can tell in my research, those dates do not usually sell out. I’m wondering if it would be better to wait much closer to purchase tickets. I’m worried about weather that time of year. Downpours, hurricanes, etc.

Im waiting patiently too. My trip is set in stone and is 8/9-16th. Not sure if it would be better to go the first night or on our last night. My 12yo wants the 1st party so he can do a first at disney lol. I feel ending the trip with it is the way to go. I also need to see if they have an after hours event. I'm torn between the 2.
