That's great! That's how it got started last year So what are the rumours/guessing dates mentioned?
We went in the summer for the first time last year. I was really worried that I would be miserable, but it was actually ok. We bought those neck cooling towels on Amazon and they really helped. We also brought misting fans. We made sure to take a break during the hottest part of the day and honestly, it was fine. My kids were even ok with it (ages 3, 9, and 13 at the time.)
I know it is over a month away, but I really could use some help with a question. I was planning to book for 3 (hoping my other daughter would be able to go with us), and then if that is not possible, I would need to change it to 2. Would that change in any way compromise if I should get the free dining promotion. I would know for sure whose was going before paying the balance. I phoned Disney and unfortunately I got a young lady that was new, just moved from the parks and she did not have the answer.
I don't believe so. I think you can make changes, as long as the primary still remains on the request, but I don't think the room will change, so I think it will be fine.
In 2016, we changed from a party of 5 to 4 right before the final payment was due. No problems, everything remained the same (resort, free dining, etc.). You should be fine.
Thanks so much, that is what I was hoping, looks like I get correct info here more often than calling Disney.
Joining the "waiting for free dining" club. DH and I are going in September and getting FD would be excellent!
Also joining in on the "waiting for Free Dining Club"
I've looked into these neck towels, and I'm surprised at the good reviews. I really didn't think they'd help much, but alot of the reviews say they really do help. I may buy some for us for our trip in August. Do they really cool your neck off for more than just a few minutes?
They work really well and I find cool more than just my neck. My entire body feels better when I put one around my neck while at Disney during the hot, humid months!
I looked at the historical data on the mousesavers site and it doesn't look like my dates get very good discounts :/ I'll be going June 13-17 and I have a Disney premier visa.
Does not look good. Last year they had added the last week in May, but I had not seen anything like this in June.
Keep watching for a room only discount. You should be able to at least save some money off of rack rate.
Last year and this year, they did have the summer one QS meal free discount. It's not great, but it's better than nothing.
New to the boards and really hoping for free dining this fall! We're not 100% sure what dates will work for us yet. If free dining is released and I book our reservation for say, September 5-15, and then we decide we can only go from September 7-15, would this affect us keeping the promotion?
Yes, they made us feel a lot better! I was skeptical as well, but I was so glad we bought them.
As long as your check-in date is still within the promotion date, you should be okay. However there have been sporadic reports where adding or dropping days did affect things and they either couldn't do it or had to change room and/or resort to make it work. I would wait and book when your dates are more definite just to be safe.
Can’t speak to using them in Disney but these towels work so well. My daughter has a few, they are a must for softball tournaments in the summer where they can play 3-6 games in a day. She’s a pitcher and as soon as she comes in for the half inning, it’s around her neck. Invaluable in our house and I’d imagine they’d be great for a hot theme park day!
For August through December it has come out the last three years on the last Monday in April. Have to go back to 2014 to find different (May 7th). Could it be different this year - of course - but I will take a little peek April 16th, big peek on the 23rd and, if not out then - a big bright look April 30th. We got this folks!
What brand of towels do you guys use for the neck cooling? I was looking into a Chilly Pad but a bunch of the reviews on amazon said that they get moldy after one use. I keep going back and forth about whether we should order a few because they might really help when we go in June, but i dont want to spend the money if they just get all moldy even if you think they are dry before putting them away.....
