DH says the same thing. He always says he's getting tired of DW, but then he gets there and doesn't want to leave. I think we might drive over to DL in the summer because neither of us has been on the west coast.
As a Disneyland local, I would wholeheartedly support this! And this summer should be cool with Paint the Night returning and all the Pixar stuff opening (though I am of the mindset that Paradise Pier did not need to be changed into Pixar Pier), but at least the summer won’t have half the park behind construction walls like it is now!

I just realized the NHL All Star game is Sunday Jan 28 in Tampa. Add that to the NFL Pro Bowl in Orlando that day & I see why that weekend might be a little busier than previous years. It is not usual for those games to be the same day, let alone within an hour's drive of each other. I don't know how many people actually travel to go to those games. Pretty sure if I would have realized it sooner, I could have talked DH into the NHL All Star game. I love hockey; football, eh.

DH just got a raise yesterday so today he said "I got enough for 2 more trips to Disney this year" lol. I doubt that will happen, but I thought it was funny. I think we will try Disneyland before we do another trip to DW.

For you and others considering DLR, I HIGHLY recommend it. I’ve only been once - with DH - but we’re taking the fam in April. It has such a wonderful nostalgic and laid-back vibe to it, even when crowded...very different from WDW. I just loved it!

DH and I just bought our tickets for 3/8...going to leave the kids with the grandparents and have a night to ourselves....so excited!!

What a FUN date night! Excited for you guys!!! :dogdance:

I was curious on the PeopleMover topic so checked my photos from last year. I have a pic on it from 7:20PM (during normal park hours) but none during DAH hours. I honestly can’t remember if we rode it pre-park closing because it wasn’t going to be open during DAH, or if we were just doing it to kill some time before the event started???

Also a random observation, I have a pic of us on Main Street at 10:40PM with at least one Main Street vehicle in the background. Not sure if they’ll be out again this year, but that’s sort of a fun / unique thing to do at night and with a relatively empty Main Street.

Now THAT would be cool! :drive:

Maybe it's like you said, adding something due to the refurbs? The suspense is killing me! :magnify:

I want to drive to Seattle, down the coast, end at DL, and then drive home. It would be a long trip, but I think we would see a lot on the drive! I didn't know they were doing so much construction. Our DW trip is February 27, but I'm already ready to start planning a trip to DL this summer lol

I think it sounds great! I would love to see the differences in rides between DL and DW. I'm not sure if we would stay onsite because it looks expensive, but I know there are some good options within walking distance.

If I upgrade to Annual Passes, what do you think the chances of Disney sending a little pixie dust my way and refunding the extra money I paid for DAH tickets would be? It would save our family nearly $100, which definitely helps with AP cost!!

We were initially going to do a road trip, too. But DH has business in China and our whole family is going! So on our way back, we’ll fly into LA and spend a few days at DLR. (You know - to help ease the jet lag a bit. ;)) We are definitely NOT staying onsite. When just DH and I went, we stayed at the Disneyland Hotel, and it was fabulous! But with the whole crew, we’re staying off-site in a suite because it is so much more affordable and so everyone can spread out.

I think others have posted that they were reimbursed :) For those who like Kenny the Pirate, he just posted that he will be there streaming live this Friday.
Yay! Kenny the Pirate saved us so much time on our last trip! I'm excited to see what he thinks about it and his tips!

That'll be fun! I've never been to China before. It would just be DH and I so maybe we would splurge a little for an onsite hotel lol

This is exactly what I'm wondering about my experience... I *know* I did it that night. I *thought* it was during DAH, but maybe it was before. I know I started DAH officially in Fronteirland but who knows, maybe I did People Mover around 6ish or 6:30...

Went back to look at pics to see if I could help with the people mover debate but these were taken at 7:55! I think we rode it then because we thought it would be closed ..

Is there a best time to go to Disneyland? I haven't looked into weather or anything, but we would probably be going in the summer.
