Official 2011 MNSSHP Party Planning Thread ..BOO to You and You..Happy Halloween!

I am going to be stalking this topic a lot! DD and I just went for her first trip this month, and as FL residents, I was thinking of driving up for the day just for the party. (its only an hour drive) Not only that, as I was reading and day dreaming about it, my boss just walked up and asked if I want to work on Monday (memorial day) for double pay. Well, that covers the cost of tickets almost exactly! Must be fate. :thumbsup2
Now that I have some extra money... I am debating doing dinner with Cinderella either at CRT or Park Fare. I think DD (4 yrs) would adore that. Her Halloween costume is Cinderella, since we got the dress in MK this month. How does one get from the Grand Floridian to MK? Would it be best to drive up, park at MK, monorail over for dinner, then monorail back for the party?
And if you were driving up for the party, which night would be the lowest crowds, in the later half of October?

You can get to MK from GF by either Monorail or by water transportation. In my opinion, it's best to park at the resort and just take the transportation to the MK. I find it less stressful to park at the resorts and free (although you should be eating or staying there to park there). And with a 4 yr old in a costume, you'll probably need a restroom on your way in and out of the parks...you'll find the restrooms at the GF are much nicer :)

I know it can change from year-to-year (& will probably especially change this year since Toon Town has closed). However, we are planning to attend the 2nd party (9/16), & I'm trying to plan out our strategy (we've never been before) since we won't have a lot of firsthand reports before the 9/16 party.

Anyway, a few questions -

Where is the merchandise normally sold? I'd like to purchase t-shirts & pins.

Where are the 7 Dwarfs normally located? I think that's probably going to be our 1st photo.

Do the princes meet w/ the princesses in the usual princess "meet & greet" area - for this year, this would be at the new princess area at the front of the park?

We have dinner scheduled at the Plaza at 5:10 pm - hoping to be done by 6:15ish - then should we get in line for the 7 Dwarfs?

Thanks for the help! I'm sure I'll have more questions as it gets closer!! :)

I'm attending that party too!
Can't wait!!

Desperately Seeking Info Here:
Hi Dis'ers.

I thought I was doing well to read as best as possible the endless posts in the 2010 and or 2011 MNSSHP thread's but .. I am going to break down and ask "possibly a redundant" question .... but .... let's talk about meet and greet's ...
this will be my first MNSSHP with my 9yr old dd ... we are going to 2 parties while there as I am going to have to take it slow because of health issues. I am worried I will miss out on her meeting some of the folks that are rare opportunities.
What is the mix and mingle? and are there more than one of those a night? I went onto youtube and saw some singing and dancing on a stage with random characters but do you get to meet them and take pics?
What characters are normally available to meet and take pics with in other places besides this mix and mingle i keep hearing about ...
oh and yes, the dance party? what is this about? do kids get to meet and greet there also?
I am sooo sorry to rely so heavily on ""you"" to give me this info when I could probably keep digging piece together some more info but I find myself getting nervous as I do that and thinking that I should ask a more savvy traveler to take me under their wing and make sure that i dont miss out on things for my daughters sake ...
thanks pals. hope yall are having a great weekend.

My DF and I will be on our honeymoon at WDW during this time! We already have our tickets for Oct. 18th!

OK...so the mix and mingle is at the end of the Villain show----there are usually 4 during the party, with 3 mix and mingles afterwards (usually not one just before the fireworks). You can meet each of the villains that just performed....lines are longest for Maleficent and Snow Queen. We have only been to the Dance Party at the Diamond Horseshoe with Woody and Jessie (Bullseye was on an extended break). Our kids had the characters almost all to themselves for at least 45 min early in the evening---especially during the first parade. There are also several other character meet and greets throughout the evening and all over the park. With the construction, it is hard to say where everything will be this year. Hopefully there will be some Dis'ers who will give some detailed reports after the first few parties. Hope this helps......

Where does the headless horseman appear? I thought I read that he rides through Liberty Square before the Parade.

He rides the whole parade route about 15 minutes before the parade itself. He used to stop on the Liberty Square bridge to rear up, but it seems that doesn't happen anymore, at least from what I read on last year's thread.

are the dates closer to Halloween (not Oct 31st itself) usually more crowded than the week prior. For example, will Oct 23 or Oct 27 be more crowded?

I've had to postpone my trip in September due to work committments, but have 2 tickets for MNSSHP for Sept 27th party, Does anyone know If WDW will refund these?

If not.... suggestions as to what to do?

I don't believe they will refund them nor will they allow you to transfer them to someone else (says so on the bottom of the ticket). I'm not sure what to tell you to do, but perhaps someone else will. :confused3

I don't think it would hurt to give them a call. Not sure when you are re scheduling but they may allow you to trade them for a later date or a Christmas party ticket.

http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=2704770 According to post 11 he was able to return MVMCP tickets in 2010 so it seems hopeful!

Thanks for posting this link and everyone who has replied so far :goodvibes

I am going to call tomorrow and see if WDW will accept the returned tickets for a refund. We'll see what happens.... It is for Sept 27th so they would have plenty of time to re-sell them to another guest.

I'll post the outcome of this :)

We have decided to go back to Universal Studios/Islands of Adventures this year. But we were thinking of hitting the MNSSHP at Magic Kingdom. Do we only need to purchase the MNNSHP ticket, or do we have to purchase a one day ticket PLUS the MNSSHP ticket? We were planning on just taking a cab over to MK for the party at the 4pm entry time. Thanks in advance for the info!!

Can any one tell me if you have been albe to meet Captain Jack at the party?
This will be our first party and we will be going mainly because my cousin is dead set on meeting him.....

Everyone at my house loves Captain Jack! The 4th movie is awesome. Johnny Depp is from the town we live in. He still has family here. Anyway, we told our 6 year old & 9 year old he was from here. They said who is Johnny Depp? Then we said Captain Jack then they said will he have the Black Pearl? I said I doubt he can have it on the Ohio River because of the barge traffic. :lmao:

All you need is the party ticket, and you're good to go as long as you show up around or after 4pm:goodvibes Have fun!

If you are just going for the party and plan to arrive at 4pm you will just need to purchase the MNSSHP ticket. You will enter the park through the turnstiles marked for the party only entrance (in past years these are the turnstiles to your right).

In the past years Captain Jack was not available for meet and greets at the MNSSHP. It would be an extra special bonus if he were to appear for a meet and greet this year!

We went in 2009 and had a BLAST!! So we thought we might do it again this year. I definately think it is worth the money!!
