Official 2011 MNSSHP Party Planning Thread ..BOO to You and You..Happy Halloween!

:wave2: Hi - I'm so happy to see this thread! My family has a trip planned for Oct 1st – Oct 8th. We have been to WDW 4 times since 2006 but this is the first year I've been able to talk my DH into going during October.:woohoo: DH loves the Halloween season & he always goes overboard with decorating outside so taking a week out of his staging is something he simply can’t fathom! To give you an idea of his “obsession”, click the link to see the video from last Halloween. This was our 1st year to use a pirate theme. We plan to add to each year. Oh did I say we – I meant he - he plans to add to it (j/k)! :rolleyes1
So as you can imagine this will be a special trip but after viewing the park schedule on wdwinfo.com I’m a little worried. It shows one MNSSHP on schedule. Surely that’s not so?!!

No, they will def add more!!! :cool1: I'm surprised there are any dates listed...the dates on Page one will be your best bet for dates they are likely to have them!!! They don't usually put the official dates up on WDW.com until summer time. You guys will have so much fun!!!! :yay:

I am heading to the party on Oct 7!!! So excited but need to figure out our costumes. Last year we were Woody, Buzz, and Jesse.
:cloud9:

I LOVE this event...we went about 4 years ago and have been trying to make it back ever since. I had two babies back to back...one in October and one in November! So last year I was ready to go and did not buy the tickets in time and the event got SOLD OUT!

I have been stalking the disboards for the official announcement for this years event. I am determined to make it back to my favorite WDW event!!!:thumbsup2 We will be going for the October 28th party...which is DD 2's third birthday!

I even have our costumes planned out....we are going as Jake and the Neverland Pirates!!!!

DH and I are super excited to finally be able to attend MNSSHP this year since we've recently moved to Florida. We're also planning to spend lots of time at F&W Fest, plus it will be our anniversary.

Question: Our original dates were supposed to be Oct. 2-6, but there is only one party during that time and it is the one attended by the racers. Truly, how crowded is that party? Is it likely to be much busier than say the one the following Thursday on Oct. 6?

We haven't booked yet and have some wiggle room in our dates so would appreciate some honest opinions on the crowd level for both.

TIA!!!

We're planning on going to the Oct. 2 one, but I didn't know anything about the racers attending it. I wonder how that will affect crowds?

I don't think it will be too bad. The party tickets are not included in the race registration this year and many runners leave Sunday night. They just come for the weekend.

The hot weather is what I am most concerned about. DH is not crazy about the idea of wearing a costume, but he has agreed to a halloween shirt.

I am thinking of dressing the boys as Phineas and Ferb (both wear shorts, so that should work well) and have DH wear a Perry shirt...:confused3

It looks like I may get my dream come true, DH is warming up to the idea of a Disney trip for Halloween. For the last two years we have gone to DL wanted to try something new and really want to see all seven drawfs.

I am so excited I can't seem to get off the computer and get any cleaning done.

We're planning on going the 11th of Oct.

Have BBB appointments for the girls that day, and Pirate League appointments for the boys.

Odd though...Pirate League states they're closing at 3 PM that day. Wonder if, once the official party dates are announced, if they'll extend that a bit.

Hoping the dates stay the same. We are planning on going the 27th. It will my kids first time going. Can't wait!!

Hello again, one quick question: we have been to DL during Halloween and this is our first halloween at DWD.
During the MNSSHP are the counter servicdes open for food. Or is it better to eat before the party starts and then just hope for a snack along the way? It was very difficult to find any counter service at DL during the parties and we ended up eating popcorn and icecream for dinner.:rotfl:

This will be our (DBF and I) first MNSSHP :cool1: We are planning for Sunday October 16th for the party, our first day in WDW. We are staying at POP from the 16th to the 23rd :goodvibes

I'm pretty sure there were a couple locations open for quick service meals. If I remember correctly we ate at Cosmic Rays around 9pm.

I'm in need of costume ideas. We have me, DH, DS7, DS2, and my mom and dad going along. The last time it was just DH and I. We dressed up as HSM basketball player and cheerleader. We would like to all be within the same theme and of course something Disney. Any suggestions?

If it's the same as the Christmas party, you're absolutely right.

I know Cosmic Rays and Columbia Harbor House were open for our MVMCP. Pecos Bill's might have been, too...but we never made it over to that side of the park.

According to the park hours there should be parties on Oct. 2, 6 and 7th.

What time do the fireworks usually happen during MNSSHP?? Anyone remember?
