Official 2011 MNSSHP Party Planning Thread ..BOO to You and You..Happy Halloween!

hello all! I have a question I am hoping someone knows the answer - If the party ends at 12, do they let you hang around for a bit after to do some shopping? If i am remembering correctly you are allowed to stay in the park for an hour after close on a normal night. is this the same for the party?

I asked this same question earlier and i was told that same rule applies - you have one hour after the party ends before they actually close the park. hope that helps :)

I have 2 young kids, 6 and 7, and I'm wondering what are my best options to watch Hallowishes with them will be? I've watched the fireworks from in front of the castle with them before on a non-party day, but only because we staked out that spot for over an hour. I'm unwilling to put in 60+ minutes of waiting around and fighting for real estate when we could be having fun at this exclusive party.

I'm considering watching the first parade from Frontierland, but the don't know what the plan would be to see Hallowishes.

Disboarders, you are the experts. What do you suggest?

Our experience at MNSSHP in 2009 was the shops closed immediately at 12 midnight. No one was allowed to go in the stores after 12. If you were already in the store, you could shop and make a purchase. Was the same for Mickey's Christmas Party in 2010. If you want party-themed merchandise (pins, shirts, etc.), I'd get it early because there was not much available at the end of the night.... I guess they only stock up so much for each party.

since the monorails close early now....does anyone know how one would get back to the polynesian after the party is over? How late do the ferries run on party nights?

That has been our experience also - they stand outside or lock the shops at midnight - no one can go in - those inside are let out once they finish their purchase. The buses and boats do run for an hour - until 1 - but we have found they don't come very frequently towards the end of that hour.

did I read that right, that they have FP for characters or is that just at the theater?

During regular park hours the Princess meet and greet at Town Square Theater has fastpasses, as does the Mickey/Minnie meet and greet.

This might have been posted already so sorry if it has. Does anyone know the order for where the villians are standing for pictures after their show in front of the castle??thanks!!

Does anybody know if the candy trail by Splash Mountain interferes with the line for the ride? Not interested in candy, but want to ride the rides!

if you arrive at 4pm, do you wear your costume? i would hate to have to carry around an extra set of clothes.

I read on another thread that this year they aren't doing the face painting. Can anyone confirm or deny this?

Thanks for this! I'm going to be there this Friday! I think I will just stay at midnight and walk around taking pictures instead of standing in line at the ferry. I will be in an electic wheelchair so I assume I can't ride on the bus. I hope they reconsider and keep the monorail open later.

The buses accommodate all sorts of wheelchairs and scooters. There is even a locking mechanism so they won't roll.

Nope it does not. For the most part, nobody is riding on SM that time of night, everyone else is interested in the candy and/or waiting for the 7 Dwarfs situated back over there too.

We arrived this past Friday night at 5pm (letting our 4 yr old nap a bit) and entered the park all in costume: Spider Girl (myself), Thor (DH), Captain America (DS7) and IronMan (DS4). A lot of people stared at us, but only because they obviously felt much safer that the Avengers were there! :thumbsup2 I will have to admit, we didnt ride everything we wanted to, we didnt see everyone we wanted to see and the 3" heels on my boots gave me blisters on the bottom of both feet. I suffered through the pain, just as Spider Girl would have (and the fact that I forgot to pack a spare pair of comfy shoes)! All in all, it was worth the money and I would go back tomorrow if I could!
