Official 2011 MNSSHP Party Planning Thread ..BOO to You and You..Happy Halloween!

A couple of questions for those that have been to MNSSHP before. Is it safe to assume Friday and Saturday are the busier days for the party? Seems Sunday might be less busy because the next day is a school night? I have read that in previous years you can enter park at 4 p.m., this would give people time to try and so some rides before the party officially starts at 7 p.m. Now, I'm thinking 4 pm might be a little early to wear the costumes since it might be a little to hot. Are there lockers at the MK entrance?

Sorry, for the many questions. This will hopefully be our first MNSSHP. I have been to MVMCP several times but never for Halloween. :)

This will be our first MNSSHP. We are also going to do HHN. We were thinking about doing MNSSHP on a Thurs & HHN on a Sun or Mon. We were thinking about coming down on a Thurs early am, doing DTD then going to the party. We could do our favorite things in the parks Fri & Sat,then move to US Sun & Mon for HHN.Does this sound like a pretty good plan for those of you who have down Halloween in Orlando? Thanks

Depending on the day of the month, Sunday will be slower than Friday's just because locals do not usually attend on Sunday nights. However, the closer you are to Halloween, the busier it will be regardless of day of the week.

They have lockers at the entrance of MK that you can put your costume in. You will have 4:00pm entry on your MNSSHP ticket. You can always change into your costume later if you are concerned about being too warm.

We will be attending a party anytime during our honeymoon, Oct 14-23. probably as close to the 19th as possible.

That's a fine plan, but double-check the dates for HHN. I don't think it normally happens on Monday nights (except Halloween).

We will be going 2 MNSSHP the 2nd week of October. Regarding those asking about wearing costumes @ 4 when you're allowed in - we usually arrive @ 4 @ many people are in their costumes then. It it usually quite warm the 1st hour or so - keep that in mind when deciding on costumes. pirate:
We've been 2 MNSSHP & MVMCP & luv the Halloween party the best. As a villain fan, I guess that only makes sense. :scared1:

We are going to be there right before halloween and our choices are to either go the friday or sunday before. Is either one more likely to be slower, or won't it matter that close to halloween?

I would say Sunday is better, the kiddos in Florida will have school the next day. On Friday they would not have school in the am.

I will be there Oct 13th Can't wait :goodvibes

We went to our 1st MNSSHP last year and the headless horseman did not ride before the 1st parade due to rain and I missed him by seconds in the 2nd one. Thought I could do HM before the parade :guilty:

This year I will wait for him

DH and I had booked a 3 night cruise on the Dream Oct 27-30th. We decided to add one night before and one night after at WDW to extend our first child free holiday since 1998. (I know, wayy to long!) Anyways, we thought we would be so excited to do F&W (which we are), but you should have seen how excited we got when we realized we could do MNSSHP on the 30th!! We are totally stoked!! Can't wait. We did one party in Sept '08 with the kids and extended family, but we missed sooooo much because of a late ADR that ran even later:sad2:. So it's going to be like going to our first party for us! Can't wait!!

Hi Catira!!! I feel like I haven't been on in ages!!! You must go!!! So fun, yes lockers right inside the park where you get strollers. Go in costume at 4 pm...it is HILARIOUS to see people stare at you when they don't know that MNSSHP is happening, and wondering how the heck you got let in... I've got tons of pics up on my fb page from the last 2 yrs.

Lucky Duck!!! Hope you and the fam have a fabulous time!! Although, you know the cruise peeps you have will be no where as fun as us WONDERful cruisers. LOL!

We just decided to go! We will be there Oct. 29-Nov. 5.
Trying to decided if we want to brave the MNSSHP on Halloween night. I think it will be crowded no matter if we go on 10/30, 10/31 or 11/1, so might as well go on Halloween and get the full experience, right?

We are going to be there between Oct 22 and Oct 30th. In 2005 we went on Halloween. We would not do that again only because the resort did a bunch of stuff we missed:( My kids want to go back again. So waiting on the dates so we can decide which night.

What sorts of things do they do at the Resorts?

Last year it ran every Sunday during October. You can see last year's dates here.

No way will I attend HHN :scared1:, but my husband looks forward to it. MNSSHP is more my speed.

I don't really want to do HHN either but DS,DD, & DH really want to go. I am thinking about just not going into the houses. I kinda hate not going at all at least once

I am so with you on that one!!!! I can cope with MNSSHP, have a load of fun and still sleep at night. I'll stick with Mickey and pals! (And you, it looks like)

Hi everyone I am planning on Sept 27th and maybe the 30th as well!

Where would be the best place to sit for the parade to get good shots of the parade coming straight at you. I am thinking on the Hub somewhere but I don't know which direction the parade goes in

:wave2: Hi - I'm so happy to see this thread! My family has a trip planned for Oct 1st – Oct 8th. We have been to WDW 4 times since 2006 but this is the first year I've been able to talk my DH into going during October.:woohoo: DH loves the Halloween season & he always goes overboard with decorating outside so taking a week out of his staging is something he simply can’t fathom! To give you an idea of his “obsession”, click the link to see the video from last Halloween. This was our 1st year to use a pirate theme. We plan to add to each year. Oh did I say we – I meant he - he plans to add to it (j/k)! :rolleyes1
So as you can imagine this will be a special trip but after viewing the park schedule on wdwinfo.com I’m a little worried. It shows one MNSSHP on schedule. Surely that’s not so?!!
