Official 2011 MNSSHP Party Planning Thread ..BOO to You and You..Happy Halloween!

What the PP means is that when MNSSHP begin years ago, guests were given free commemorative pins and a free print of a Photopass picture. Those have now been taken away just like the free face painting has. I did like how Disney said that guests are welcome to book appointments at the Pirates League or BBB to make up for the free face painting being taken away. Sure, paying $30-$100 is just as good as free. :rolleyes1 And, good luck finding an open appointment.

Oh you know...I keep telling people this event is way overpriced for what you get, but no one listens to me. That doesn't mean it isn't a fun event, it's just overpriced.

I will be happy at my free with park admission SWW...:cool1:

PLEASE don't give them any ideas! :scared1: Can you imagine if they started charging for that too??? :faint:

Since it's an all day event and would get in the way of people who wanted to go to HS, but not attend SWW events, I actually doubt they can charge for SWW. Although, I think it is better to visit HS another day, if your aren't interested in SWW, but I ran into a few ppl last time, who were there, but not interested in the SWW events.

If they charged extra, I wouldn't go.

If they charged extra and held it at night, I WOULD go.

I've wanted to go for years. But the only way I do Disney in the summer is after dark. I just can't bring myself to go hang out in the FL sun during the day. And what a shame. I would LOVE to see the marching Stromtroopers!

yes, but they can't hold some of the events at night and there are to many to hold in only on a few hours...A night parade would be nice though, the lunch time one is brutal

Thanks:) Yes, that is what I meant. Next it will be the trick or treating (they will add paid trails-LOL.) Or the cookies and hot cocoa at MVMCP... I did like that plug for BBB and PL-really Disney? They used to have free fortune tellers at MNSSHP too-loved them (cards, handwriting, palm, runes, etc.) And other face painting locations-like 2 or 3.

Hi! My DH and I have an early ADR for Crystal Palace (3:15pm) on an MNSSHP night. What I'm wondering is, will we have to bring our costumes with us or will we be allowed to wear it to our ADR since they let MNSSHP ticket holders in at 4:00pm (or so I believe).

I've never been to WDW but we're going to the party on 10/23. Here's my question: How hard is it to wear a skirt (knee length, full) at MK? I was thinking of going as a 50s housewife and my (bald) husband as Mr. Clean. You it be tricky on the rides? I'm not usually a skirt person. Thanks!

you should be fine except you might experiencing chaffing b/w your legs if your not used to walking around in a humid climate with shorts, skirts on. Consider wearing something underneath to help or use bodyglide frequently. You shouldn't have any problems on rides

you can wear your costumes

DH and I were originally going to do hippies because what easier and cooler than a tie-dyed shirt and soffee shorts, but DH was thrilled about the idea of wearing tye-dye, so not I'm thinking I will wear my tye dye in the parks on a regular day, and do a poddle skirt while DH does jeans a black tshirt, "grease-esk" maybe?? I doo love poodle skirts!!!

We'll be there on the 30th, we'll be dressing up as Amy Pond and the 11th Doctor from Doctor Who, so excited! It'll also be our honeymoon so yay!

Finally convinced my dh that go to the party on the 23rd! I'm soo excited. This will be our first MNSSHP!

We just decided to add MNSSHP to our upcoming vacation! :cloud9: We'll be attending the Sep 20 party, seems that one will be well attended by Disser's. It will just be me and the kids attending the party - DH didn't think his parents would be up for such a late night, so he will take them out to dinner and have a relaxing evening at the resort.

I'm having a hard time figuring out costumes, and to make it more difficult, I can't ask the kids because we're keeping the MNSSHP a secret - they think we're not going. (This will be our first time, too!) The easiest, most comfortable thing I could think of puts us in "rival park" terrirtory - our Thing 1, 2, & 3 t-shirts for the kids, and I could paint their hair blue. I would wear a Cat-in-the-Hat hat and simple black & white capris & t-shirt. Would we get ribbed pretty bad for not wearing Disney costumes? I thought about also packing some pirate accessories for the boys and my DD has a great gypsy costume that would be cool enough, and letting them choose. I just want us to have a fun time, so I don't want them wearing costumes that would be too hot. It's really hard to find decent-looking costumes that are light weight and short sleeved. I also don't want to spend a lot on costumes that they would only wear one time - Halloween is always pretty chilly in our neck of the woods.

We will spend the morning of the party at MK - crowd levels are supposed to be really low that day. We'll leave around noon or so, rest for a while, then get into our costumes and head for our 4:45 ADR at 1900 Park Fare. I am hoping that gets us done with dinner in time to be back in the park by 6:15 or so. If my plan is very flawed, please somebody tell me!

so excited - only 2 weeks more to wait!
