Official 2011 MNSSHP Party Planning Thread ..BOO to You and You..Happy Halloween!

We'll be there for the first party too!!!! It'll be our first trip to WDW and of course we HAVE to do the MNSSHP. We've been to the party at Disneyland when it was in DCA and had a blast, so this should be a real treat!!!!!

Hi! My mom and I are planning a trip from the 8th to the 16th of October - we're so excited, especially for MNSSHP. Currently, I'm trying to decide if I want to do it on my birthday (13th) or earlier (11th). Part of my problem is I'd really been looking forward to going to Cinderella's Royal Table for dinner on my birthday, but I wouldn't want to take away from MNSSHP. And also, I'm currently tossed up as going as Rapunzel (cuter but harder to get a hold of dress, like the outfit better) or Belle (the blue provincial dress, easier to get ahold of, I would make a better Belle than Rapunzel). What do ya'll think?

But anyway, I am so excited! I'm actually day-dreaming about standing in line for the 7 dwarves :goodvibes. Can't wait!

We're really excited to go this year. Last year we opted out, just didn't feel like we wanted to spend the evening/night doing it.

We were at The Polynesian walking around after dinner and it was so fun seeing all the fabulous costumes. Really elaborate and gorgeous works of art!

We'll be indulging ourselves on Halloween this year cuz we'll do the Disneyland version in Sept, then be at WDW in Oct. I tend to like Halloween more than Christmas stuff at either Disney.

I, personally, would not take time away from MNSSHP for any dining ressies. If CRT is important do that on a non-party night.

As far as a costume, you will probably see more Belle's at the party than Rapunzel's since like you said it is easier to get the costume. Just food for thought.

Enjoy the party!

We love to do CRT on party nights. But we take the earliest seating we can get. I think it's usually around 4:15. Then you can take your time, have a nice dinner, then head out to get your wristbands and be in line for the dwarfs well in advance of the party starting. It would make for a great birthday if you ask me!

That's exactly what I was thinking. Going for an MK morning, leaving pretty early to rest/get changed into costume, then come back for an early dinner and then MNSSHP (and the dwarves are RIGHT at the top of my to-see list, so that's exactly where we'll be going! :rotfl:). Anyway, I totally agree. That sounds like pretty much the perfect birthday to me. :cloud9:

We are going to be at WDW 10/22-10/29. We hope to go to MNSSHP on 10/25. We are planning to go to Downtown Disney that morning then take a break. We are thinking about having a late lunch around 3:30 at either Tony's or Liberty Tree Tavern. However not sure which one to eat at. After eating late lunch then start enjoying MK. We are basing late lunch and being in MK on previous years where you can enter the park at 4:00

I would feel safe saying you will be allowed to enter the park this year at 4:00pm as well. I usually try to eat and be finished by 6:00ish so I can get in line for the seven dwarfs..yay!

Probably going to be there for one of the later parties - getting off of the cruise on 10/30!

Last time, my DS got sick (I think just scared from all the costumes and his nightmares from Tower of Terror) and we watched the parde from the curb at the main gae and left immediately after - while DD and DH stayed and enjoyed the entire night! I hae lived through their stories these past 2 years but am hoping to make some wonderful memories for myself and DS this fall! (Needless to say we will not take him on ToT!!)

When lining up for the dwarves, can you do it like Tangled Meet and Greet. Like if I got in line 30-45 minutes early and my family walked around and joined me at 7 would that be okay.

I can totally stand still that long and people watch or look at pics on my camera, but getting my 2 girls to spend that time as down time will be hard when there is so much to see and do.

Thoughts?

So what are u all wearing??? Would a Cinderella outfit be appropriate for dd???

Yes!

My daughter will either be in a Halloween custom I make or a costume. Haven't decided yet. Either way it will be festive :thumbsup2

It will be our 1st MNSSHP when do tickets get released usually, I have been checking everyday Disney website next week I can book ADR and I want to coordinate for October!

I totally understand how you feel. I went last year totally not expecting to care much for it at all. I am not a big "meet characters" person and we dont really care a lot about parades . Not to mention we cant collect candy with food allergies.

BUT I went , and halfway through the night I looked over at my DD and said " Wow, We have to do this again !" . Just the atmosphere of being in the MK at night was amazing. We went during a slow time in September and in certain areas it seemed like we had the entire place to ourselves. The fireworks were amazing ! It was fun to see all the costumes. And the things I didnt think I would care about were so much fun.

Worth a try at least once. I am sure you will love it .

Last year the tix for the Christmas Party went on sale 4/30 not sure if the tix for the Halloween Party went on sale the same day or not

I am so torn....we cannot decide if this is worth the extra cost for us. I am worried that I will be disappointed, despite the great reviews. I wish our trip was longer because I think I would be more willing to spend an evening there. Luckily our night should not sell out and we may be able to make a last minute decision.

I am the same way, first we were going , then not, and now I happen to have a free night and it is a party night so I am once again thinking of going, I don't think I will buy tickets ahead of time I know last year the party on Oct 31 sold out not sure about the others I suppose it will depend on how much I will save if I buy the tix ahead of time seems to me last year some nights were not discounted ? Anyone know ?

You will have the opportunity to line up and have your daughters join you. They usually set up a que around 6:30pm. I usually line up at 6:00pm to make sure I can get my pics and move on to the next character quickly.

Great! Thanks so much, I will have myself or my DMIL line up and we can get that pic early and then move on to the less busy characters.
