This is our second year of doing a Secret Santa program in our office, as last year's Secret Santa program was a ginormous hit. The plan is that each participant fills out a small form listing their hobbies, favorite foods/restaurants, etc.

The goal is that each week starting November 17, through the reveal on December 12th, each Secret Santa would sneak a gift to their recipient (drawn from a box from those forms filled out) each week, ranging around $5 per week, with the final gift being $10 range. You can split it out as notes and candy given every other day, or alias emails sent from Secret Santa, the sky is the limit. And you can also spend more if you wish to.

This year, I opted out because as my trip ticker shows, I will not be at work the final week of the reveal. But I'm having vicarious thrills watching people get their gifts!

My coworker Jessica walked into the office today to find her cubicle like this:

The note attached to her computer monitor read:

And some details...

The cup was filled with ice! And the chip bowl also had the Bears logo inside. I only wish that the Bears lived up to this treatment!

There are times like this that I'm happy I have that phone in my camera. I've taken two other random shots of things I found silly enough to capture from the iPhone. (If you're really curious, they are hidden within my Nosh report. If you don't want to fish for them, I can always post them here if anyone is interested.)

Speaking of Dr. Pepper:

LOS ANGELES — Dr Pepper is making good on its promise of free soda now that the release of Guns N' Roses' "Chinese Democracy" is a reality.
The Texas-based soft-drink maker said in March that it would give a free soda to everyone in America if the album debuted in 2008. "Chinese Democracy," infamously delayed since recording began in 1994, goes on sale Sunday.
"We never thought this day would come," Tony Jacobs, Dr Pepper's vice president of marketing, said in a statement. "But now that it's here, all we can say is: The Dr Pepper's on us."
Beginning Sunday at 12:01 a.m., coupons for a free 20-ounce soda will be available for 24 hours on Dr Pepper's Web site. They'll be honored until Feb. 28.
Dr Pepper is owned by Dr Pepper Snapple Group, Inc. with headquarters in Plano.

very cool- hey i grew up in mesquite!!! i am in plano----yep, as close to DP as I can be! :lmao:

what a great secret santa, i wish we had enough people to do that at my work.

How cool..and I love that they put actualy thought and effort into it! My office does secret santa every year. In fact, as the office's morale officer (no pressure there!), I'm the one who organizes all the activities. We do Secret Santa and an ornament exchange. (We used to do a cookie exchange too but with all the layoffs this year I don't think I'm going to have enough interest this year...) Anyway, I always go all out for my Secret Santa. I really enjoy finding cool little trinkets and treats that suit my person. But almost every year the person who gets me is the person who makes the least effort. For example, I always note on my form that I am allergic to wine. And you guessed it- I almost always get a bottle of wine! Last year, the person who had me got fired the week of Secret Santa! I really do participate because I get joy from giving...but just once I'd like to get something really fun!

BTW...see you at the meet!

Aww, Janet. You have Secret Santa Bad Karma.
Last year, I arranged my recipient to get e-cards, gave her candy
inside cute ceramic "bags", and my final gift was a compact, 25 piece tool kit.

A lot of people have gone all out for their people this year. It makes me a little sad that I didn't participate this year. And yes, I'll see you at the meet. I promise not to bring any wine. Heheheh.

Slight hijacking, but that is so cool. I was in Plano this week for work and kept driving by the Dr Pepper / Snapple offices on the way to work. I've been there all week and just had a "duh" moment. I wondered why everywhere I went there was DIET DR Pepper, I was in heaven. They even had it on the American Airlines flight home. AND there was an empty seat next to me on the way home, I was having serious pixiedust: this week.

The cube looks great! My office's Secret Santa starts on Monday and we go for 12 days. I was looking for something special to do so I think I'm going to steal/borrow your co-worker's idea! My Secret Santa likes the Raiders and is always doing tailgating with her family.
