Offering on contract with 2019 points left

DVC newbie here. Looking for guidance from the DVC veterans. If I offer on a contract with points left for 2019, October use year, is there any realistic chance of being able to book and use them after we close before October. (we are totally flexible on dates and where we go)

Not in my opinion. If the contract otherwise meets your needs, make your offer as if the 2019 points have no value. (Because they don't). If you offer today, you'd be lucky to get access to your points before September.

Shame on them for not banking the points into 2020, if they are 2019 points. If they were banked 2018 points there is not much that could be done.
