Where can I report someone who was trying to get my daughter to me them a house. She gave me the addy it is in our neighborhood but the house number does not exist. It was on IM and their ID was laxplaya2206 and I think this person is older than 12. Somehow he got my daughters IM and told her he was an old boyfriend of one of her friends and that he had lost her friends IM and cellphone number and wanted to see if she knew them but my daughter didn't give them to her and then I guess he was talking to her and he has called her s*xy (not what a 12 yr old boy one say about my daughter maybe pretty but not that) and apparently he is calling her a b***h now b/c she will not give up the info but then he sweet talks her and wants her to meet him. Which she is not But just wondering where I could report him to. I thought I heard awhile back there was someone specific and they would backtrack and check them out.

Thanks
Stacy

I would start with the local police.

Me too. A lot of law enforcement agencies have programs and protocals in place to try and catch these folks by posing as young girls. You definitely need to report it. Even if he is now leaving your daughter alone, you might be able to save the life of a future victim.

Definetly call your local police. Most departments have a separate section that will investigate this. They can also get the user info relatively quickly (usually less than an hour). I wouldn't let it slide because you never know what weirdos are out there. Good luck and keep us posted! princess:

I have contacted the police dept and they sent me to major crimes division and I am waiting for a call back from a Lt.

Keep us updated and good luck getting the creep!

I would notify the local police first and see what they tell you. Solicition of young girls/boys is really a hot issue right now so I doubt that they will ignor you.

Well I still haven't got a call back from the Lt. But new info has come to light. There is a couple of kids that think it might be a caouple of 12 yr old girls that go to school with my daughter. Which makes me think that could be true because I know these girls and they have played a trick on another girl that is sorta similar to this one and honestly I think they are going after this other girl and my daughter because they are friends with this other girl that is no longer friends with them. Sad.. but I think I should still talk to the police because I am not 100% positive and they havent confessed. So I dont know what to do. I know these girls think they are invisible because of who their parents are but it doesn't give them the right to pose as someone else online and act as they are acting.

Sorry for rambling been a long day.

If this is the case, still call the police - those girls need someone to knock on their door and tell their parents that they are wasting police resources.

I'd still call the police. You don't know for sure it's the girls and why take a chance? And if it is the girls, a knock on the door from police might put their heads on straight.

Ok the police called and he said so far there has not been anything criminal done to my knowledge because just asking someone to meet someone is not criminial it would need to be like to meet and make out or something and to my knowledge that has not happened. But they are going to research the IM name and check it out. and they are suppose to call me back.

Thanks

I'm not even sure that asking an underage kid to "meet and makeout" would be a crime--the person would ahve to actually show up at the intended rendevous place to meet the kid. While it's disturbing, it probably is other kids. Sexual predators are a lot slicker than you are describing.

My son had a problem with a couple of psycho chicks who were classmates of a girl he had gone to school with a couple years earlier sending him bizarre text messages. I finally involved the police after we started to get phone calls in the middle of the night from one of them claiming all sorts of bizarre stuff--her dog had been run over, she was going to run away and elope with her boyfriend if my DS didn't stop her, stuff like that. We lived 1100 miles away from this chick. After I got the police involved she tried to say that she hadn't made the calls or sent the text messages. Well, caller ID and saved text messages took care of that problem.

Some teenage girls are whacked out drama queens.

The detective did say it is a crime in Fairfax county, VA for someone to ask a minor to meet and makeout or just to kiss. But my daughter says he did not say that he just asked if she would meet him at his house and therefore it is not a crime but they are investagating and will at least give him a warning and maybe that will scare him off.

Hopefully they will contact me soon. I do know that they have made some inquiries thru email to a few people. I just will be glad when this is over.

Thanks

They are if they've been doing it awhile. If it was some younger perv he might not have his MO down yet. Better to follow it to the source and stop it now no matter who is doing it.

How Scary!! :sad2:

This happened to my DGD! It was a couple girls who were just being mean to a bunch of girls this way. The police told us to save the IMs and to call them when it started again. They also told her to change her user name and e-mail address, which she did, however, the girls kept finding out. The police were able to prove somehow that it was these girls. We were asked to file a complaint against them, as were the other parents and guardians. These girls and their parents had to go to family court and the judge told them they were to only use the computers for school work only for 6 months!!!! This was over a year ago and we have had no problems since.

If it is a couple girls DO NOT let it go or think it's not dangerous. There are plenty of violent mean little girls out there. What they are doing (calling her names, being threatening because she won't give them info) is harrasment. I don't get why the police wouldn't have at least investivated that or given you some tips on how to stop it, harassing someone is illegal everywhere and no matter how it's done. And you never know where it might lead, girls seem to be getting nastier every year.
Let her school know what's going on. Extra eyes are always helpfull. :thumbsup2
