Off Topic but do you (women) wear make-up while at the parks

I just put on some concealer and powder (Everyday Minerals) to cover up the redness and blemishes and that's it. Oh, and lots and lots of lip balm!

I wear makeup in the parks, but I don't wear that much makeup to begin with. I even wear makeup when I go swimming. I wear powder, mascara, and lip gloss and I've never had a problem with the melting look.

Yes I will wear makeup while I visit next weekend. Probably bring my mineral powder though instead of my more liquidy stuff. I'm thinking of bringing the following (not too much!)

-powder foundation OR some kind of mineral veil
-eyelash curler
-mascara
-eyeliner (for when I go out to dinner at night)
-maybe one eye shadow
-lipgloss

That isn't far from what I normally wear anyway :thumbsup2

Nope, I don't wear makeup in the parks.
I'm not the type to generally wear makeup hardly ever at home anyway- except special occasions or going out and such- but even when I DID used to wear makeup all the time I still didn't wear makeup if I was planning on going to ANY park all day in the hot sun where I'd just end up looking a mess anyway.
But also I have to keep sunscreen on my face all day- and reapplied/etc. (so no, putting on sunscreen and then makeup won't work unless I wanted to completely clean my face and reapply sunscreen then makeup again many times a day- while at the park. no thanks!). I have to keep sunscreen on my face at all times because if not- the pregnancy mask that never goes away (thanks to my 2nd pregnancy with DS) gets darker and shows up in more places too! (ie: last summer started showing up around the sides and above my eyes onto my forehead instead of just my cheeks!)

So no, I don't wear makeup at the parks even though I know I'd look way better with makeup. I wore makeup to the parks one time years ago when I went in Jan- but never wear it if it's in the hot sunny times of the year. I have never got a "close up" photo in the parks anyway that would make much difference with makeup- so the pictures thing isn't an issue for me anyway. Our pictures are always our entire family (or me taking photos of the kids myself all the time) and it's always been far enough away that wearing makeup wouldn't make a difference in how the photo looked. Au natural (+ sunscreen) is the way I go to the parks.

ps. until this thread I had no idea that so many women wear makeup in the parks. I thought I was normal not to- and now I know I'm not so normal! LOL

count me in as one who wears make-up no matter how hot it might be! I have lupus and the subsequent butterfly rash across my nose and cheeks, so I like to have that covered. My foundation has an SPF of 30, so I've got two bases covered! Then just some waterproof mascara and Burt's Bee's on my lips.

I don't wear makeup any other day, so I won't at the park. But tell me about these bare minerals things that everybody is talking about. I don't really want a red or shiny face in all my photos... :headache:

A lot of people use the Bare Minerals or Everyday Minerals lines. I've tried both, but I really like the mineral line from Maybelline. I tried it after I saw it featured in a magazine and I have to say I'm impressed. Any of the mineral lines will even out your skin tone and give you some sun protection. It doesn't melt off in the FL heat either.

I am a make-up girl too. I am too pale not to. I don't ever tan. I have three colors, red (from sunburn), pale, and paler. I look like one of the ghosts in HM, and they are tan compared to me :rotfl2: At the parks I ALWAYS wear powder, eye shadow, blush, and lip gloss. I use Burts Bees lip stuff. It isn't as heavy as a regular lipstick, and it isn't dry like a lip stain. It keeps my lips moisturized and adds a touch of color. I am not big into trendy looks, but I do like to look natural and earthy for the pictures.

If I am going out for a nice dinner at the parks I use 3 different color shadows, foundation, mascara, eye liner, lip liner, and a bronzer if I am too pale, along with the above mentioned products.

Sephora has these great eye shadow appliques where you just place them on your lids and rub. The color goes right on your eyes, and they do the "smoky" look. There are some funky ones too that are pretty cool. I use these when I am too lazy, or uncoordinated to do the sexy, smoky look, or when I run out of time :)

Bare Minerals is an all mineral based loose powder foundation that is good for you skin and has spf. It's very light and does not "run" off your face if you sweat like liquid makeup can. Nowadays many stores carry some kind of mineral line. I love the Bare Minerals brand though because the line also has something called Mineral Veil which is like a translucent powder. I sound like a spokesperson! Lol

If I am there in the summer I wear as little as possible during the day and than at night I get all dolled up:)
In the winter I wore my "normal" amount during the day when i felt like it and then maybe a little more at night for dinner.

Park must - haves:
1.Bare Minerals Foundation - it is a natural sunscreen and it doesn't melt off your face!
2.Waterproof mascara
3.Lip Balm with sunscreen

And yes, I wear eye shadow and liner so scrapbooking our memories doesn't make me cringe...

Nope. No makeu pin the parks for me. I don't wear makeup everyday at home anyway (just to work, usually or out to dinner with my husband)

While I like the way I look with makeup on (duh, otherwise why would I wear it?!) I also don't think I look hideous without it. Especially in a hot, active environment.

you were makup about as much as I do so I know not to worry about wearing it to the parks

I am one who will not leave the house without my makeup on and my hair done! ... trust me, it's better for everyone involved LOL!
I just feel I have a lot of uneven coloring, my face seems to be splotchy red all the time. I wouldn't feel comfortable without makeup!
I wear what I wear at home
maybelline mineral powder, blush, mascara and eyeshadow...I do skip the eyeliner during the day but will use it in the evenings :wizard:

I am SHOCKED that any woman would not wear makeup when there is a chance of running into Prince Charming on any given day.

I wear tinted moisturizer, mascara, and lip balm to the parks.

I wear my Bare Escentials everywhere except the gym and the hospital (but I must be the one actually ill/injured). Otherwise, every day I protect my face with a 58 SPF sunscreen, and my foundation powder with 15 SPF, plus at least eye liner and lip color.

Few have seen me without my war paint :scared: I use a sealant spray that wards against sweat - Ben Nye Final Seal (I'm hard core lol). I'd recommend it.

I have tried everything under the sun, from expensive (Bobbi Brown & Laura Mercier) to cheap cheap (N.Y.C., Wet & Wild) and here are my favorites that work well in the Florida heat:

MAC eyeshadow
L'Oreal Voluminous mascara (NOT WATERPROOF) which works just as well as Dior Show or Benefit BadGal)
Clinique Quickliner For Eyes
CG Fresh Complexion concealer (spot stick only!)
CG TruBlends Mineral Loose Powder (works better than BareMinerals IMHO, I've had both)
CG Cheekers Blush
CG OutLast Double Lipshine and/or MAC LipGlass.
GAP SPF 18 chapstick
Neutrogena Oil-Free Moisture SPF 15 or Mary Kay Timewise Moisturizer SPF 15 (Both are equal IMHO)

I only do spot stick because I find that a spot stick and a loose powder look more natural and flattering than a true foundation. I think foundation causes breakouts, even non-comodogenic brands.

HTH someone :)

Nope, just some chapstick and sunscreen. I find that when I wear makeup I break out more.
