Sorry Matt, missed this thread till just now. Hope everything went well and its just right for you.
It was scary as anything, and apparantly people got a look of supreme Sadness from me, even though I was trying my hardest to stop my eyes from going on me..
We got to see the accomodation, which was nice since I didn't get to see it the first time round. The towers of Essex Uni are a bit.... yeah....
But the en suite flats were brillent since A) you have 3 neighbours instead of 15, B) you have your own Toilet, basin and Shower, C) you have electronic locks, and D) It looks and feels so much cleaner! But, it's £83 per week... So I guess it's going to mummy and daddy!!!
I guess I am not THAT ready to go off and meet new people just yet, and I reckon I would of loved it more had I had mummy and daddy to talk to and be with throughout (or, even Carol would do...
).
After that, we were split up AGAIN. Argh, Why can't they leave me alone!
My interview went lovely.
Although I was a tad nervous before I went in, but my fears melted away when I met the man for some reason. Probably since A) he stuttered here and there and B) looked like a fusion between Hugh Grant and Rob Brydon!!!
It went well, and I managed to flog the fact that our School has gone onto Special Measures from Ofsted so maybe they'll be a little more considerate when they offer to me..
) and we discussed the Disabilites Support Allowance. Turns out that with AS in hand, I could get it after all!
Mostly it means I can get things like Taped lessons, notes, etc etc. BUT, I may need to get Retested by my GP, since although I have a Statement of Special Needs from school which should weigh down my case a bit, I haven't actually had a GP look at me since age 5. For all we know, I could of grown out of it..

Sounds like it went well!![]()
If you dont feel ready to leave your family is there any way that you could live at home and go to uni? Going to uni is a huge change and there is nothing wrong with living offsite if its all a bit much, a few people who I went to uni with were in halls and they were so unhappy that they left to go to a uni closer to home.

Did I mention how much I love these guys???
Sounds like the day went well, Matt, and you got a good feel of what the Uni has to offer. I hope you will keep in touch when you are all grown up and off to Uni!!![]()
