Well the family is crazy excited and we are getting things prepared at a frantic pace. The Wife, two sons, and the Boston Terrier will be rolling out Monday and arriving in Disney Tuesday of next week for 8 wonderful nights.

I will bring updates as we go and hopefully some pictures....

We will be in the 300 loop (or so we hope) and I just finished making my Mickey Ears LED lights with the wreath hoops and a printing buddy of mine is making a 3x3 foot sticker to put on the camper.....

We will be rocking out in our Rockwood Roo 17ft hybrid.

Safe travels. Have a great time. Looking forward to the report and pictures.

Congrats, be safe and have a great time!

How far are you driving? Have you been to Fort Wilderness before?

We are traveling from the Chicagoland Area so it is about 1100 miles. We travel to Florida once to twice a year due to having family out there.

We have stayed at many of the Disney Resorts from French Quarters to Kidani Village, Wilderness Lodge, Carribean Beach.... etc...

But this will be our very first to Fort Wilderness. We camp a lot and finally decided to use our camper for Disney.

Wow, that is a decent haul! Are you planning to overnight anywhere along the way?

Like you, we have been to Disney several times but never with a camper and have never stayed at Fort Wilderness. We went there once for the HDDR and it looked like a great place to stay.

Just recently we upgraded our pop-up to a Jayco hybrid (X20E) and are thinking we will take that with us the approx. 1,000 miles to Fort Wilderness at about this time next year. I'm excited to hear how your trip goes and your impressions of Fort Wilderness!

We are no strangers to very long trips. Last Summer we took our 6 year old and 1 1/2 year old from Chicago to Custer State Park, to the Bad Lands, to Yellowstone, to Grand Tetons. We traveled over 4000 miles in 20 days and did it with our Mini-Van and our Pop Up.

We upgraded to a Hybrid and I have just purchased a Nissan Titan and we will stop just north of Atlanta at a friends house for dinner and a long nap for me then get back on the road at Midnight and arrive at Disney at 9 or 10 in the morning.

I have no problems driving 17 hours straight since we go to St. Pete twice a year. We plan on taking a little less frantic pace though this time.

We pull out Thursday night between 9 and 12. Only traveling half the distance you are though, roughly 600 miles. We will be there for 8 days, so we will overlap a little. Requested the 400 loop, so we might be close to each other. I intend to start an update the day we leave, and keep up as best I can. Maybe we will run into ya while we are there. Have safe travels!

Follow on the updates and we'll figure out the site numbers and shake some hands. Be safe.

Have you camped much in the hybrid, and if so how do you like it compared to your old pop-up? Our pop-up was just a step above a tent with no A/C, no furnace, no kitchen or bathroom, so to us the hybrid is a HUGE step up!

We started off in my father's 26' Keystone. It was perfectly fine for me and my 6 year old daughter, but my wife was just plain cramped feeling. I could tell I would never stand a chance of getting one of my own without moving to bigger things. We eventually settled on a 32 BHDS from Jayco, this was after about 2 years of searching. She is a big sucker, but leaves plenty of room for the kids and us, plus it has an outdoor kitchen, which was my main "want". This trip will be only our 3rd camping trip in it...so I am still a rookie you might as well say.

Have fun. Can't wait for the TR. I would love to hear about the 300 loop. We are hoping for the 100 or 200. Jack (1) is afraid of dogs.
