hi. i know that transportation from within the resorts wont be a problem, but does anyone know about off site transportation? we are going to be staying at the seralago hotel and suites, which does have a shuttle to the parks, but it is very lmited and doesn't go to downtown disney or the boardwalk and other places. does anyone know if there are public buses or if there is any way to get to these all of the disney sites other than taking a taxi? we are on a very limited budget, and cant rent a car... thanks for your help!

If you can't afford to rent a car, definitely stay at a WDW hotel -- have you considered POP? If that isn't an option, you WILL want a car. I was able to find a basic car for about $20/day from one of the off-airport rental agencies on my last visit. Check the Transportation Board for advice.

Good Luck!

thanks for the advice! what is POP? the pop century resort? unless i can find a code (which i don't know how to do, i only know the websites and am trying to figure out how to find/use them) the hotel i'm staying at is half the cost of the value hotels. we're only going for four days, due to our limited budget. my husband planned the trip (although i've taken over :) )and didn't think we'd need a car because we had shuttles to and from the airport, and to the parks. we've read that there are buses that run to downtown disney and the boardwalk, etc... we just havent had anyone confirm it for us.

Any transportation from an off-site hotel will be xtremely limited with just a couple or so runs in the morning and at night. As a previous poster suggested, if you plan on doing only WDW and do not want to rent a car, it's MUCH easier to stay on site and let Disney transportation take care of you.
If you are going after May 5 Disney will even provide free transportation from the airport to your Disney resort.

If you have a multi-day ticket, you can use Disney transportation to switch to any of the other theme parks, or Downtown Disney and BB and TL, once you've gotten onto Disney property. You will be limited as to times leaving from your off-site place. Those shuttles usually leave two or three times in the morning and return two or three times at specified times, like 8, 10, and 12. or 2, 4, and 6 p.m. and they usually go to certain parks on certain days, such as Magic Kingdom Mon and Wed. or Epcot,Tues and Thurs. etc. You will be extremely limited as to what you will be able to do. Call and ask for their specific schedule. I suggest you rent a car for the freedom. Then again, at $8 a day to park, you might as well stay on site at Pop!!

thanks for the help! i convinced my husband to stay at all star movies, we got a AAA discount to soften the blow to our budget. :moped:

Check out the Resorts board on this forum for the next couple of weeks to look for three-letter codes for room discounts--you may even be able to beat the AAA price! Best wishes.
