off site tips for Christmas time

I am thinking about going to Universal from January 2nd-5th. That is a pretty busy time of year. What are some tips to have a good time? How easy is it to make a rope drop from off site? Thinking about the trip for a non-Disney vacation, but not sure it can be a good time at a super busy time.

Get to the parks for rope drop, have a good plan and consider purchasing the express passes.

i'll be at the darkside that early part of january also.

from what i have read, there could be some lines in the park as school does not go back into session until the 6th this year.

do't think it will be bad and long wait lines but the park might be busier some of the days.
