We can save $50 - $75 by staying a a Disney Springs hotel.
Is staying at a moderate and using WDW buses to the park worth the extra money?
No car for us.
So is the Disney Springs hotel buses that bad ?

Thank you for your help

The Disney Springs buses are fine. I don't think of them as offsite.

Since some of the hotels are of better quality then the Disney I consider that in the "savings" (Paying Disney prices for Disney hotel quality feels like a RIP OFF to me LOL!)

I've stayed offsite for conferences (Hilton Lake Buena Vista and Gaylord). The buses were fine- if you can operate on their schedule. If you miss the bus you were planning to take or want to leave the parks other than the scheduled times, what you pay for Uber/ cabs will eat into the savings pretty quickly.

Are you saving 50 to 75 dollars total or per night? because there's a difference between the two.

Once I get past the car seat phase of life, I'll be more inclined to do a Disney Springs hotel. Right now it's worth the premium for me to stay on site

So with no car -- how are you getting to your hotel? If you stay in a moderate then you will have the magical express transportation to and from the airport.

If $50-75 for the entire trip then no way is it worth it, $50-75 per night maybe, but even at that you could just be a little more cautious with other spending to make up for that amount.

The Disney Springs resorts share buses. Plus they don't go only to one park, they will go to two. And if you are heading to the Magic Kingdom the bus will take you to the TTC, where you have to ferry or monorail in. Also the bus stops will be a little bit further out in the parking lots, and won't have any cover over them.

IMHO, after Swan/Dolphin, I think the DS hotels are easily the most convenient "off-site" locations. The bus service is not as convenient as Disney Transport, but it's far more convenient and reliable than any truly off-site hotels. It will take longer to get you to your destination, but it does run on schedule throughout the day, and you can use it as much as you like at no extra charge.

In the afternoon and evening, you also have the option of walking to DS and getting a Disney bus to CR or BC for MK or Epcot. Of course, some of the DS hotels are a much shorter walk to DS than others.
