Unfortunately im off sick this week. Im a bit worried now though, i had some blook tests done yesterday and got some of the reults back today ! My docter phoned me at home so i knew it wasnt good news! Apparently so far my results are "leaning towards" glandular fever!! but im still waiting for some more tests to come back.

This sucks!! apparantly if i do have it i may not be able to fly for 6 - 9 months? Such bad timing, its my 21st in a few weeks, then im going to Disney in May!

Its not all bad though - On the plus side - gives me more time to spend on the DISboards - get up to 1000 posts lol! :woohoo:

Oh Laura, that's awful.
I hope you are feeling better soon and that you get to go away in May.

Not long to go until your 1,000th post!

Here's some PD to make you feel better pixiedust:

 I'm sorry to hear that you're not feeling well Laura pixiedust: I'm sending some Pixie Dust in a hope that your illness won't affect your holiday :)

28 to go - then you will hopefully feel much better. :thumbsup2

Not worrying too much about the holiday...... they will have to drag me away from the plane if they think im not getting my "disney fix" lol

I had glandular fever a couple of years ago. When you first find out you've got it you feel like death warmed up, that lasted about a week for me and then I was back to work. When I went to the doctors they were not sure what was wrong as my face had gone puffy too but they did the usual blood tests. The worst thing about it is that I still now sometimes feel exhausted, almost like a relapse, it only happens if I'm stressed or been very busy. You will now not be able to give blood for a few years.
I hope you have a speedy recovery and feel fighting fit soon, sending  and pixiedust:

I hope you get better soon, fingers crossed for your holiday! :wizard: My mum had it and she was really ill for about a month and then she slowly got better, the only positive thing about it was that she lost stones in weight!

I hope you fell better soon Laura :grouphug:

Oh Laura - I just hope for your sake that it is like my 'grandular fever' which clearly wasn't as I recovered quickly and have been fine since pixiedust:

Hope you're feeling better :sunny:

I've never heard that you might not be able to fly with Glandular Fever?
Is it maybe because you might have a lowered immune system? :confused3

Anyone?

pixiedust:

i asked my docter about this and apparently its whilst your in the "contagious" period? Something to do with the confined cabin space etc if you sneeze or cough the particals stay in the cabin and can get passed on...she said this usually is about 60 days from diagnosis but an be up to 90 depending on some blood count thing??

Anyway thanks for all your thoughts guys - put a smile on my face!
